She felt she had to constantly guess his thoughts.
Chun Chang intervened, pulling Cen Jin away to get the medicine, and suggested that Li Wu's reticence likely stemmed from being unaccustomed to such care and feeling cautious in a new, unfamiliar environment after leaving his hometown. After retrieving the medication, Cen Jin spoke to Li Wu, assuring him that her care was not a burden.
She explained that with school starting soon and her returning to work, she might be busy, so she hoped he would adapt quickly to his new life and school environment. Li Wu, in turn, promised to communicate his needs directly from then on. While accompanying Li Wu to the restroom, Cen Jin spotted Bian Xinran at the gynecology clinic, discussing early pregnancy with a doctor. As Bian Xinran exited, Cen Jin instinctively hid, and Li Wu protectively shielded her.

Wu Fu expressed his own frustrations, stating that the relationship had exhausted him and that his accomplishments were constantly overshadowed by his connection to her, as he sought more than just her approval. Cen Jin remained pensive when he asked if she had been happy recently, and he left after asking her to respond to the agreement as soon as possible. The narrative then fast-forwarded to 2024. Cen Jin's parents were visiting, helping with dinner.
Her mother casually mentioned that Li Wu had visited them recently, having just returned from abroad and being busy with a startup with friends – news Cen Jin had never heard from Li Wu himself. Her mother also pressed Cen Jin about her marital status, encouraging her to spend more time with Dr. Lu, a neurologist whom her mother highly regarded. Cen Jin promised to consider it, albeit hesitantly.
Meanwhile, Lao Yi had persuaded Li Wu to attend a social gathering. Afterward, Cheng Rui offered to drive Li Wu home, but Li Wu declined and instead took a taxi directly to Cen Jin's house.
