The colleague then shared news about Shen Yun, explaining that her ex-husband had caused a scene at Bei'ao Motors while fighting for child custody, leading to Ms. Shen's resignation. This incident provided an opportunity for some higher-ups, who were already dissatisfied with her, to replace her.
The colleague expressed concern about the future of their work with Bei'ao, noting Ms. Shen was the most professional and efficient client they had worked with. Cen Jin, however, suggested they shouldn't discuss Ms. Shen's private matters and should focus on their work. Later, during a meeting, Cen Jin was informed that her lunch had been placed on her desk. While her colleagues assumed she had secretly ordered takeout, Cen Jin knew it was Li Wu who had prepared it.
She discovered a delicious meal of four dishes and a soup, which drew envious glances from her coworkers. Cen Jin snapped a photo and texted Li Wu to thank him. He replied that since her leg wasn't fully healed, she needed good nutrition, and he intended to keep preparing her meals for a while. He reminded her to bring the lunchbox and utensils home after work. Back home, Cen Jin tried to convince Li Wu to stop cooking for her.
She acknowledged that his meals were delicious and made her happy, but stressed that his primary focus should be his studies, not being a chef. She pointed out his demanding schedule with a research project, classes, and a part-time job, and expressed concern about him overworking himself. She reassured him that she was completely fine now and he could move back to his dorm. Li Wu, however, challenged her by recalling her earlier request to treat him like a man.
As Cen Jin tried to leave, Li Wu stopped her, proposing a "date" in exchange for moving back to school immediately. He suggested they attend a stargazing camping event organized by his advisor that weekend. Cen Jin, realizing he wouldn't agree to move back unconditionally, reluctantly agreed, deciding to view it as a chance to get some fresh air.

She asserted that she could never like Ted, nor he her, offering to call him to prove it. Cen Jin further criticized Li Wu for being so rash without understanding the situation, asking why he was questioning her when they weren't even officially together. Feeling exhausted, she told him to go home.
However, Li Wu refused to leave. He expressed his desperation, admitting he should have kissed her long ago, regardless of the consequences. He confessed his unwavering love for her, unable to bear merely watching her from a distance. He declared that even if she didn't like him or never wanted to see him again, he would always love her. Overwhelmed by his sincerity, Cen Jin leaned in and kissed him.
After the kiss, she asked him if he was truly ready to move forward with their relationship, giving him an out if he had any doubts. Later that evening, back at her apartment, Cen Jin found herself feeling awkward with Li Wu. She initially considered sending him back to the dorm but then realized it was Friday, meaning he didn't have to return until the weekend was over.
Breaking the silence, Cen Jin revealed her past, recounting her smooth college romance and marriage to Wu Fu, a relationship she believed was her ideal peaceful life until a betrayal shattered her world and her faith in love. She confessed that Li Wu's sudden appearance in her life was like a bomb, reigniting her spirit and bringing her a happiness she hadn't felt in a very long time.
No longer wanting to deny her feelings, Cen Jin formally asked Li Wu if he would be willing to be in a relationship with her as boyfriend and girlfriend. Overjoyed, Li Wu enthusiastically agreed, embracing her tightly and telling her how long he had waited for that moment. Cen Jin playfully teased him, remarking on how handsome and cute he looked, a realization she was only just having.
Unable to sleep that night, Li Wu texted Cen Jin, asking if she was awake. He confirmed their new status as boyfriend and girlfriend. Cen Jin teased him in return, calling him a "fool." He continued to text, saying he missed her and asking to meet in the living room despite being only a few meters apart. When Cen Jin came out, she playfully accused him of teleporting. They shared another kiss, and Li Wu, wanting to pursue further intimacy, tried to move closer to Cen Jin's room. Cheng Rui immediately questioned when they became a couple, to which Li Wu happily replied, "Last night." Shen Yiyang called Cheng Rui to help, but Cheng Rui continued to joke about Li Wu's quick romantic progress, even teasing Shen Yiyang about finding an "aunt" (wife of his mother's younger brother) since Li Wu was now dating. Shen Yiyang, in turn, chided Cheng Rui for being nosy and told him to get to work.
That evening, while walking, Cen Jin was enchanted by fireflies and took a picture. Li Wu mentioned there were likely more by the stream, but Cen Jin hesitated to go near the water. As she prepared for bed, she noticed a shadow leaving something outside her tent. Upon opening it, she found a glass jar filled with fireflies, a thoughtful gift from Li Wu. Later, at work, Cen Jin met with Shen Yun.
Cen Jin thanked Ms. Shen for her concern, recalling how Shen Yun had been instrumental in AusStar's long-term partnership with Bei'ao. She expressed her desire to continue their effective collaboration and inquired about Shen Yun's plans. Shen Yun explained that as her position at Bei'ao became higher, her autonomy diminished. Feeling restricted and no longer wanting to be just an executor, she took her ex-husband's public scandal as an opportunity to leave Bei'ao without regret.
She informed Cen Jin that she had started her own business and sought Cen Jin to join her as a partner, acknowledging Cen Jin's strong abilities and good character. Cen Jin admired Shen Yun's courage to embark on her own venture but admitted she hadn't yet reached that level of resolve.
Shen Yun acknowledged Cen Jin's concerns about choosing the right platform for growth but assured her that her company's doors were always open and she would offer Cen Jin the maximum freedom and decision-making power if she chose to join. Later that weekend, Cen Jin and Li Wu had their official date. Over dinner, Cen Jin asked Li Wu why he liked her and if he had ever considered dating an older woman when he was younger.
Li Wu, smiling, said that before he met her, he hadn't thought about anything like that. When Cen Jin playfully pressed him for a proper answer and asked if it was because she was pretty, Li Wu simply smiled and affirmed that his girlfriend was indeed very pretty. Cen Jin, pleased, gave him a piece of food as a reward.
