For most people, living in a colorful world is something they take for granted. But after a sudden, extreme pain, the whole world of Sheng Jingchu became black and white. His life became a never-ending black-and-white movie. Despite this, he developed a profound love for Go, becoming a formidable young player, though his condition also contributed to a reserved and aloof personality.

Cheng Liao, an intern reporter at a magazine, secured her position through the connections of her elder sister, Cheng Yi, who is a prominent host at Binhai TV Station. Cheng Liao spent her days running errands for colleagues, fetching iced Americanos, toast, milk tea, and sandwiches. Her colleague teasingly called her a "corporate slave" and accurately guessed she had stayed at the office all night.

Their conversation was cut short when Ms. Liu, the director, arrived, prompting Cheng Liao to hide briefly. Ms. Liu then summoned Cheng Liao, assigning her the task of interviewing a Go player for the upcoming Go Elite Tournament. Cheng Liao expressed her apprehension, admitting she knew nothing about Go and feared making mistakes that could damage the company's reputation.

Ms. Liu retorted that Cheng Liao, who majored in landscape architecture, was only hired because of her sister's influence and had yet to achieve anything noteworthy. She reminded Cheng Liao that her six-month probation was almost over, implying her chances of becoming a full-time employee were slim if she didn't succeed. Feeling the pressure to prove herself and escape her sister's shadow, Cheng Liao reluctantly agreed to take on the challenge. Ms. Liu then revealed the interviewee was Sheng Jingchu.

Cheng Liao's colleague later explained that Sheng Jingchu was notoriously difficult to interview, having never accepted personal interviews before. She suggested that Ms. Liu's true intention was for Cheng Liao to "freeload an interview" by following her sister, Cheng Yi, who was the only person likely to secure such an exclusive. Cheng Liao resolved that she must succeed.

Meanwhile, Sheng Jingchu's apprentice, Cao Xi He, was engrossed in a mahjong game and completely forgot to pick up Sheng Jingchu for his competition. Sheng Jingchu, already on his way, had guessed Cao Xi He was playing mahjong. He simply told Cao Xi He to go straight to the arena and reiterated his stance on never giving personal interviews.

Forced to take a public bus, Sheng Jingchu unexpectedly saw Cheng Liao, dressed in a yellow tracksuit, frantically running to catch the same bus. In that moment, for the first time since his accident, he perceived color. He watched her intently as she boarded. Unbeknownst to him, his crucial press pass, which had been in his hand, flew away in the wind.

On the bus, chaos erupted when an elderly woman discovered her phone was stolen, and other passengers realized their phones were missing too. Seeing Sheng Jingchu holding the elderly woman's phone, they immediately accused him of being a pickpocket. Cheng Liao, in a display of civic duty, forcefully joined the accusations and insisted that the bus driver take them to the police station.

At the Binhai East Police Station, Cheng Liao was adamant, demanding severe punishment for Sheng Jingchu, whom she continued to label a "thief" with an "angelic face but a demon heart." Sheng Jingchu remained silent, observing her. After giving her statement, Cheng Liao proudly left, not bothering to write her name, stating she does "a good deed without leaving a name." Later, as police reviewed surveillance footage, they expressed doubt about identifying the thief due to his obscured face.

Sheng Jingchu, however, calmly provided a detailed analysis: the thief, a glasses-wearing man with expensive clothes, a limited edition Traveller watch showing two different time zones, and a relaxed demeanor during working hours, was likely a high-level investment manager from the Financial Mansion with kleptomania, not a professional pickpocket. Stealing the old phone was merely a "recreation" before his gym session. Sheng Jingchu deduced the thief's likely destination, prompting the police to act quickly.

Back at the tournament venue, Cheng Liao discovered she had lost her press pass and was denied entry. She desperately called her sister, Cheng Yi, tearfully explaining her predicament. Cheng Yi, exasperated, scolded her: "Why don't you just get lost with it? . . . Tell me one thing that you have done well." Despite her anger, Cheng Yi agreed to send her own pass, confidently stating, "I'm the pass." Cheng Liao received the pass and finally entered.

Inside the hall, Cheng Liao saw a large poster of Sheng Jingchu and was horrified to realize that the Go master she was meant to interview, and the man she had just accused of theft, were one and the same. Just then, Sheng Jingchu arrived, escorted by the police, who thanked him for his crucial assistance in solving the theft case. Sheng Jingchu then encountered Cheng Liao and remarked, "Hello again."

Cheng Liao feigned ignorance, claiming they had never met and were on different bus routes, even specifying the numbers. Sheng Jingchu pointed out that her knowledge of his bus route proved they had indeed been on the same bus, but he was ushered away to his match before he could press further. Cheng Liao, utterly mortified, worried she had offended him beyond repair.

In the Go Elite Tournament quarter-final match, Sheng Jingchu was penalized 56 minutes for being 28 minutes late. His opponent, Yao Ke, noting Sheng Jingchu's characteristic "bloodthirsty playing style," decided to play a long, grinding game, hoping to exhaust Sheng Jingchu, who had a significant time disadvantage. Despite Yao Ke's initial invasion, Sheng Jingchu launched a fierce, "dragon slaughtering trick," overwhelming his opponent within a hundred moves. The commentator noted Sheng Jingchu's "murderous" playing style.

Cheng Liao, watching the match, wondered if Sheng Jingchu's intensity was due to his anger towards her. After Sheng Jingchu's swift victory, Cheng Liao, still needing an interview, decided against approaching Sheng Jingchu directly. Instead, she found Cao Xi He, Sheng Jingchu's apprentice, and interviewed him. Cao Xi He confirmed that Sheng Jingchu was "mad" about being late for the match and added that his senior "holds grudges" and was "nothing like me, I am very easygoing."

Suddenly, Cao Xi He exclaimed that "An eye for an eye" (referring to Sheng Jingchu) was approaching, and Cheng Liao immediately fled. Meanwhile, Cheng Yi received surprising news: Sheng Jingchu had specifically agreed to an exclusive interview with Binhai TV Station's Cheng Yi. When Cheng Yi approached him, she introduced herself, and confirmed her staff were all present. Sheng Jingchu then stated that if she was the one interviewing, he was sorry but he could not accept.

Back at the office, Ms. Liu was furious with Cheng Liao for failing to secure a full interview. She called Cheng Liao "useless" and reiterated that her dream of becoming a full-time employee was just that—a dream. Overwhelmed by Ms. Liu's harsh words and her constant comparisons to her successful sister, Cheng Liao ran out crying, lamenting that she could never measure up. As she sobbed alone, Sheng Jingchu appeared behind her.

Believing she couldn't escape his retribution, she tearfully apologized, offering to let him hit her or to be magnanimous and let her go. Sheng Jingchu simply replied, "No." He then offered her a piece of candy and, looking at her with an intensity that suggested a forgotten connection, said, "Cheng Liao, nice to meet you."
