Chi Cheng was at the hospital with Wu Suowei’s mother. Since she firmly refused to let Wu Suowei know about her illness, Chi Cheng decided to stay and take care of her.
He called Wu Suowei to say he wouldn’t be coming home that night. This led to a misunderstanding—Wu Suowei wasn’t home either, but with Wang Shuo’s brother. Heartbroken, Wu Suowei returned home to seek comfort from his mother. When he got back, he noticed that she wasn’t feeling well and asked about it with concern. The two lay on the bed together, reminiscing about happy childhood memories. Guo Chengyu returned to visit Jiang Xiaoshuai, who was very happy to see him. He asked about what happened back then between Guo Chengyu and Wang Shuo, and gave Guo Chengyu Wang Shuo’s medical report.
After seeing it, Guo Chengyu went to ask Wang Shuo about his condition and even teased him. In response, Wang Shuo revealed the truth about what had happened—that back then, the misunderstanding had been deliberately created by Wang Shuo. He had planned to sleep with Guo Chengyu and let Chi Cheng see it, because he suspected something was going on between Guo Chengyu and Chi Cheng.
That night, Wang Shuo went to find Chi Cheng, hoping to win his heart back. He even brought up their romantic past in an attempt to soften Chi Cheng’s heart. But no matter what Wang Shuo said, Chi Cheng didn’t waver and firmly refused to get back together. Wang Shuo had already broken his heart. Wu Suowei went to complain to Jiang Xiaoshuai, who patiently consoled and encouraged him.
