Rakshasa Street Episode 12 Recap
> Rakshasa Street Recap
Beiluoshimen, the zhenhun General of Yulin Street, known as a frightening man with amazing skill who never tolerates Variants and is hailed as the "God of War," appeared at Cao Yanbing's door. Beiluoshimen inquired if Cao Yanbing was the one who saved Shuier. Cao Yanbing admitted it was partly his doing, but credited Xia Ling's persistence as the main factor. Acknowledging Cao Yanbing's assistance, Beiluoshimen offered him a chance to lie about his identity and leave Mingjing Village permanently.
Beiluoshimen then produced a warrant and asked if the person depicted was Cao Yanbing. Xia Ling, trying to protect Cao Yanbing, quickly denied it, claiming the person on the warrant wasn't as handsome. However, Beiluoshimen clarified he was asking Cao Yanbing directly. Cao Yanbing, finding the offer of a chance to lie amusing, tore the warrant in half and proudly declared, "I am Cao Yanbing." Xia Ling, exasperated by Cao Yanbing's bluntness, left to "slowly process things."
She joined Shuier and Gou'er by the river as they prepared vegetables. Shuier noticed Xia Ling's low spirits, prompting Xia Ling to explain that Beiluoshimen had taken her "idiot companion" to "talk." Shuier innocently suggested Beiluoshimen might be thanking Cao Yanbing for saving her. However, Xia Ling confided that she was worried they might start fighting, describing it as a "conversation between straight men" that Shuier would understand in time.
Meanwhile, Beiluoshimen confronted Cao Yanbing, identifying him as the former Luocha Street zhenhun General, wanted by the spiritual domain for destroying the spiritual locust tree. Beiluoshimen reminded Cao Yanbing that he had given him a chance to lie, which he didn't take, but offered one last opportunity to explain himself, advising him not to make the same mistake twice.
Unyielding, Cao Yanbing defiantly declared that he was indeed the one who "fried" the spiritual locust tree and, moreover, intended to "fry" the Bodhi tree in Mingjing Village as well. He taunted Beiluoshimen, questioning why he should be afraid, especially since Beiluoshimen couldn't defeat him. At this point, Beiluoshimen revealed a recording device, playing back Cao Yanbing's confession. Beiluoshimen explained that unlike Cao Yanbing's rumored past actions in Luocha Street, he himself relied on evidence.
Cao Yanbing reacted with an outburst, calling Beiluoshimen a "monkey" and an "uneducated rabbit." Beiluoshimen, concluding that arguments were useless with someone so stubborn, resolved to beat him first. The two men began to fight fiercely in an open area.
However, whenever Shuier and Gou'er, who were still by the lake, excitedly pointed out fish in the water, Cao Yanbing and Beiluoshimen would immediately stop fighting, put on a facade of peace and harmony, only to resume their brawl once the children's attention shifted. This charade repeated several times. Eventually, Xia Ling sent Shuier to call them for dinner. When Shuier arrived and asked if they were fighting, they awkwardly denied it, claiming they were merely "dancing."
At the dinner table, the animosity between Beiluoshimen and Cao Yanbing continued, with them competing for a dish of food. After the meal, they engaged in a drinking contest, each vowing not to be outdone. They both drank excessively and eventually rushed to a window to vomit. Unbeknownst to them, Fubu was positioned directly below the window, monitoring Cao Yanbing. He was doused in their vomit. Fubu later reported back to the Kingdom organization, still covered in the messy residue.
His superior expressed surprise at Beiluoshimen's "naivety" but commended Fubu as an "excellent ninja" for his dedication, noting the distinct smell of "wine garden" from him. The next morning, Xia Ling woke to a terrifying sight: all the villagers had transformed into monstrous, sharp-fanged Variants, attacking her. She screamed for Cao Yanbing, who quickly emerged from his room.
Seeing the mutated villagers, Cao Yanbing retrieved his Ten Halls Rakshasa, explaining that these Variants (mutated spiritual beings) must be eliminated, as they would otherwise transform into evil beasts after thousands of years and endanger the spiritual domain. Xia Ling, horrified, tried to stop him, reminding him that he was no longer a zhenhun General and should not kill the villagers, especially since they didn't understand the cause of their sudden transformation. At that critical moment, Nanyumen, the Southern Adult, emerged from seclusion. He shook a bell, and its sound guided the transformed villagers away.
