Her parents took her to another place for an abortion and later arranged for her to date Li Tan. After learning about her true background, Huo Zihong found Li Yaqing. The two got along instantly and became very close. Li Yaqing wanted to surprise their parents on her birthday, so she asked Huo Zihong to impersonate her while she hid in the wardrobe. The reason she sought out Wan Fenghuo for information on Zhang Guanghua was because she needed proof—whether alive or dead.
As for her relationship with Li Tan, she said it was all for show. Over all these years, she never truly thought about Li Tan. With the truth revealed, Luo Ren decided to return to Xiaoshanghe, while Li Yaqing went back to Luomahu alone. One night, Luo Ren discovered Luo Pingting trying to pry open the window bars, so the next day he quickly reinforced all the doors and windows.
Meanwhile, Mu Dai learned from Wan Fenghuo about a supernatural phenomena expert named Shen Mukun and called him to describe the strange occurrences surrounding Luo Pingting and the others. She also provided the information about the human skin. Upon hearing the dimensions of the skin, Shen Mukun immediately associated it with the size of a bamboo slip.
