Lu Nan is rushed to the hospital after the car crash. The attending doctor informs Su Bei that Lu Nan had a previous brain surgery seven years ago due to a car accident, which left him in a coma for five years with blood stasis in his brain. The current head injury has exacerbated this old wound, causing the blood stasis to shift, and there's a possibility of new complications.
Stunned by this revelation, Su Bei demands answers from Yun Fan. He reveals that on the very day Su Bei left for Italy seven years ago, Lu Nan was in a severe car accident that left him in a vegetative state. He remained in a coma for five years and, upon waking, lost all memories of Su Bei.
This truth brings Su Bei to tears as she realizes that Lu Nan's apparent abandonment and silence were due to his incapacitation, not indifference. She stays by his side, grappling with the depth of his past suffering. Yun Fan advises her to rest as the company needs her, explaining that he has already informed the staff that Lu Nan is abroad on urgent business and that she will temporarily take charge of Eminence.
At a company meeting, board members express discontent that Su Bei is representing the company in Lu Nan's absence, especially during the critical time of Eminence's listing. Su Bei, acting as the interim President of Eminence, sharply rebuts their complaints. She asserts her authority as President of Eminence Starlight and Lu Nan's wife, the largest shareholder, questioning why they, as senior managers, are panicking over unconfirmed news.
She declares that she will personally handle the Su Manni scandal and that they should await the results. Despite a director challenging her qualifications, Su Bei firmly states that her competence is recognized by Lu Nan and that they, as a couple, will bear all consequences. Later, Lu Fei calls Yun Fan after seeing news about the scandal.
Yun Fan reassures her that Lu Nan is handling things while on a business trip to the US and advises her not to worry their grandmother. Yun Fan confirms to Su Bei that Lu Nan's car was tampered with and gives her the surveillance footage. Reviewing the video, Su Bei sees someone meddling with the car but also notices Chris was there. At home, she finds photos on Chris's phone that he took of the culprit tampering with the car.
Chris explains he only doodled on the car to scare his father for bullying Su Bei. Touched by his concern, Su Bei tells him his only job is to grow up happily. She then gives the photos to Yun Fan as crucial evidence for the police. At the hospital, Su Bei is confronted by Lu Fei.
Su Bei questions why Lu Fei lied to her seven years ago, intercepting her call to a comatose Lu Nan and falsely claiming he despised her and wanted her to abort their child. Dropping her gentle facade, Lu Fei viciously admits she did it because she hates Su Bei. She claims that before Su Bei appeared, she was the most important person to Lu Nan, and that Su Bei's presence only brings him misfortune.
Meanwhile, Chris secretly persuades his nanny, Ms. Yang, to take him to an audition for child actors at Gu's Group. After being initially eliminated, a disheartened Chris coincidentally meets Gu Yan. Impressed by the boy's personality, Gu Yan offers him a contract but explains it requires a parent's signature. Chris asks Gu Yan to keep the job a secret from his mother, and Gu Yan agrees.
Later, Chris visits the unconscious Lu Nan, gently washing his face and playfully chiding him for not caring for himself. He then secretly presses Lu Nan's unconscious handprint onto the contract. At her press conference, Su Manni tearfully accuses Lu Nan of sexual harassment, claiming that after she signed with Eminence seven years ago, he threatened to blacklist her if she didn't comply. She condemns Su Bei for aiding Lu Nan instead of helping her.
Just then, Su Bei dramatically appears and challenges her sister to provide specifics. When Su Manni falters, Su Bei plays a video showing Su Manni feigning an injury to lure Lu Nan to her hotel room and attempting to seduce him with drugged water. As the reporters' focus shifts, Su Manni frantically claims the video is fake. Su Bei condemns her for framing them when her plot to seduce her brother-in-law failed.
As Su Manni remains unrepentant, police officers enter, identify her as a suspect in a car accident murder case, and take her away for investigation. Later at the hospital, Lu Fei arrives with Lu Nan's grandmother. The grandmother coldly denies recognizing Su Bei as her granddaughter-in-law. She angrily accuses Su Bei of abandoning a comatose Lu Nan, being absent for seven years, and causing his relapse upon her return.
Ordering Su Bei to leave, the grandmother feigns chest pain and dizziness. As Su Bei reluctantly agrees to go, a barely audible whisper of "Su Bei" escapes from Lu Nan's lips.
