Out Of The Dream Episode 6 Recap
> Out Of The Dream Recap
Brother Dao, bruised from a beating by Wei Sir, visits Yu Fei. She asks who beat him so badly, but he remains silent. As Yu Fei tries to clean his wounds, she can't find a band-aid. Brother Dao laments that she forgets more than just band-aids, reminding her that it’s their 18th anniversary of knowing each other. Yu Fei then understands his sullen mood. They decide to take a picture to commemorate the occasion.
Brother Dao reflects on his past belief in pure ideals for his friends' dreams, realizing they were struggling unseen. He then wishes her a happy 18th anniversary. Bai Feili brings snacks for his studio and decides to take Xiao Cang, the hamster, home. He informs Xiao Cang that he is taking him home that night. Having decided to pursue the "Dragon Scale" project, he sends an email to the investors, which remains unread.
Later, Lingjiu and her associate meet with Mr. Chen, the investor for "Dragon Scale." During the meeting, Bai Feili orchestrates an incident where a server accidentally spills food on Lingjiu, creating a distraction that leads Lingjiu and her associate away. Bai Feili then steps in, introduces himself as Guanshan Qianchong, founder of Jiubai, and apologizes for missing their previous meeting.
He presents his innovative concept, showcasing a dish called "The carp leaping over the dragon gate" and explaining its ancient legend and relevance to "Dragon Scale." Mr. Chen is impressed by the creativity and Bai Feili’s ambitious vision to expand the model into an entire stage. Bai Feili further demonstrates his resolve by offering to only sign the contract and receive a deposit after an initial inspection, assuring Mr. Chen that Jiubai, though a startup, has the expertise.
Impressed by Bai Feili’s boldness, Mr. Chen agrees to the collaboration. When Lingjiu and her associate return, they find Mr. Chen gone and Bai Feili having already secured the "Dragon Scale" project. Bai Feili then tells them he paid for their meal and offers them to join him. Later, Lingjiu sees Yu Fei clearing plates at the restaurant and taunts her, calling her "Liu Xichan" and demanding she sing.
When the manager explains Yu Fei is just a cleaner, Lingjiu insists Yu Fei demonstrate her tea-pouring skills with a long-spouted kettle. Yu Fei, confident despite her lack of stage experience, performs the complex maneuver flawlessly. As Yu Fei finishes, Lingjiu deliberately trips her. The kettle falls, but Bai Feili, appearing unexpectedly, shields Yu Fei from the hot water, sustaining burns himself. Lingjiu expresses concern for Bai Feili, but he prioritizes Yu Fei and takes her away to the hospital.
Yu Fei carefully applies medicine to Bai Feili’s burns. Bai Feili attempts to get her WeChat contact information, jokingly referring to himself as a "human specimen" that requires payment for viewing. He explains that given their frequent encounters, exchanging contact information is reasonable. Yu Fei complains that ever since meeting him, she has encountered constant misfortune and even lost her job today.
Bai Feili, in turn, questions if she wished to be splashed with hot water, leading Yu Fei to jokingly call him a "rapscallion." Yu Fei then directly asks Bai Feili why he didn't open the door for her in Suzhou. Bai Feili tries to explain, but Yu Fei interrupts, stating that no matter his reason, she cannot forgive him for that incident.
As Yu Fei prepares to leave after applying the medication, Bai Feili stops her, revealing that his hamster, Xiao Cang, has crawled into her bag. Yu Fei expresses annoyance at the hamster's antics. Bai Feili then explains that hamsters symbolize the ephemeral nature of creative groups, urging them to dedicate themselves entirely to their passions.
He believes that as long as Xiao Cang continues to run in its wheel, they will remain vigilant, and perpetually pursuing what one loves keeps youth alive. He then extends an invitation for Yu Fei to join Jiubai, emphasizing that she is destined for the stage. Yu Fei, however, is skeptical, believing he only wants her to play Liu Xichan.
Bai Feili counters that her goal of entering an opera academy is also for a stage, offering her both a performance platform and a stable job, even volunteering to tutor her in English for her upcoming exams. Yu Fei humorously declines, citing his "expensive" tutoring fees, to which Bai Feili proposes deducting it from her salary, a suggestion that further irritates her.
Yu Fei, after cutting the tomatoes for Xiao Cang, asks Bai Feili to return her bracelet, which she states is very important to her, and muses if its return would mean they wouldn't meet again. As she prepares to leave, she accidentally cuts her finger while preparing food for Xiao Cang and asks Bai Feili for a band-aid. Seeing her bleeding finger, Bai Feili immediately feels unwell. He quickly closes his room door, then collapses inside.
Yu Fei, hearing the thud and receiving no response, realizes he might be hemophobic. Concerned for his safety, she forces the door open and finds him on the floor. She helps him to his bed. He takes her hand and pleads with her not to leave, stating that he feels cold. Yu Fei gently covers him with a blanket and offers to find a thermometer.
He then pulls her into a tight embrace, and they share a kiss, which Yu Fei willingly returns. Meanwhile, Brother Dao waits outside Yu Fei’s house, having fallen asleep. A fortune teller attempts to engage Brother Dao, claiming he has "romantic luck," but Brother Dao brushes him off. The next morning, Yu Fei tries to leave Bai Feili's room quietly but hears voices outside. To avoid being discovered, she attempts to escape through the window.
Just then, Bai Feili’s grandparents, Mr. Shang and Mrs. Shan, arrive and notice a woman, Yu Fei, jumping out the window. They immediately tease Bai Feili, who has just woken up, about the "wild" girl they saw. Bai Feili is startled by their unexpected early arrival, as they were supposed to come a day later after a speech in Antarctica.
He tries to deny having a girlfriend and claims they misunderstood, but they insist they clearly saw a beautiful, long-haired girl resembling the "Guns and Roses" band members. While claiming to be open-minded, they chastise him for not offering the girl breakfast after she stayed overnight, calling such behavior "scumbag-like." They even demand he call her back for breakfast. Later, at the breakfast table, Bai Feili tries to sneak away from his grandparents, but his grandmother insists he eat.
They continue to press him about the mysterious girl and when he will bring her home. To escape the interrogation, Bai Feili jokingly refers to her as their "granddaughter-in-law" and uses this as an excuse to rush out, promising to bring her back within three days. Yu Fei returns home to find Brother Dao asleep outside her door.
She wakes him up, and he immediately expresses his concern, questioning where she was all night and why she didn't answer his calls. Yu Fei vaguely explains she was occupied with "private matters." Brother Dao then reveals that his clothes are torn because Wei Sir beat him again when he went to apologize. Yu Fei scolds him for fighting, reminding him of his past motto of "actions speak louder than words."
Feeling misunderstood and unappreciated, Brother Dao becomes even angrier, asserting that despite his "hooligan" image, his main concern is for her. He emphasizes that he waited for her all night, even bringing her supper after losing a fight. Deeply upset, he leaves in a huff. Bai Feili waits downstairs for Guan Jiu after she finishes work late.
He informs her that he has successfully secured the "Dragon Scale" project, a fact she already knew from the contract sent the previous night. He reaffirms his commitment to recovering lost projects and relationships. Guan Jiu, softened by his efforts, forgives him. Bai Feili then offers a sincere apology for his stubborn and self-righteous behavior, emphasizing that Jiubai Studio belongs to all its members, not just him and Guan Jiu.
Guan Jiu commends him for acknowledging his mistakes and suggests they go out for a meal together. At Jiubai Studio, Bai Feili conducts a demanding rehearsal for the "Dragon Scale" project. He strictly critiques a dancer for adding a subtle movement, explaining that such a detail would be lost on a large stage, visible only to those nearby, not the distant audience.
He instructs the team to revise the script with Mengru and stresses that while "Dragon Scale" is their first commercial venture, they cannot compromise on quality. He also demands costume rehearsals to begin in three hours. His staff, observing his unusually strict and volatile demeanor, speculate that his mood swings are a sign of "love gone wrong with relationship crisis." Meanwhile, Bai Feili is privately frustrated that Yu Fei has not yet accepted his friend request on WeChat.
