In the female dormitory, the soldiers were applying ointment to their wounds, wincing in pain. Wen Jing offered comfort and, hearing their complaints about Qin Guan, defended him by explaining he was tough on the outside but soft-hearted.
Later, in the mess hall, the soldiers were pleasantly surprised by the good food, and the vice squad leader of the cooking class urged them to eat their fill to endure the rigorous training. While the male soldiers reassured their female counterparts that Blue Lightning soldiers were different and could overcome challenges, Guo Xiaowei was overheard telling Lin Yi that Tong Mengyao's poor performance was a burden to the team.
Tong Mengyao confronted Guo Xiaowei, leading to a heated argument filled with mutual taunts, until Xu Dongdong intervened and led Tong Mengyao away. Meanwhile, Liu Yu Xi and Qin Zhiwei's relationship continued to grow. Qin Zhiwei showed concern for Liu Yu Xi, who was tirelessly managing the procurement of lamps for a project. He confirmed their plan to use the lamp installation as a cover to smuggle bombs into the venue once the contraband, GHR3, was in place. He assured Wu Mei that once successful, they would monopolize the international energy market.
Three days later, Qin Guan announced an inspection of their training progress, warning that failure would result in double the training. Xu Dongdong was the first to complete the anti-hitting training successfully, followed by Yang Shu, Li Sisi, and other female soldiers. When it was Ning Meng's turn, the repeated blows triggered her past trauma, causing her severe stomach pain and bringing her to her knees. Wen Jing quickly took Ning Meng to rest.
Ning Meng expressed her frustration, wanting to meet the standards but feeling overwhelmed and at her physical limit. Qin Guan watched, his hands clenched in silent support. Ning Meng eventually passed the assessment. However, Qin Guan quickly tempered their joy by revealing an intensive special forces training schedule, emphasizing that anti-hitting was merely the first step. Both Ning Meng and Xu Dongdong volunteered to go first, but Qin Guan selected Xu Dongdong. During her descent, Xu Dongdong misjudged her angle and force, cutting her leg and failing. Despite her injury, she demanded another attempt but failed again. Ning Meng, however, successfully completed the descent. Since only Xu Dongdong failed the exercise, Qin Guan punished all the female soldiers with a run in the rain. Later that night in the dorm, Ning Meng was telling the others about an embarrassing incident involving a male soldier, Chen Haozhe. Their laughter ceased abruptly when Xu Dongdong entered. Enraged, Xu Dongdong reminded them of her success in the previous subject and accused them of hypocrisy for criticizing her now after she had led the way before. In a fit of anger, she stormed off to Qin Guan's office, declaring her intent to leave Blue Lightning. Qin Guan summoned all the female soldiers and confronted them, asserting that the reason for Xu Dongdong's desire to quit stemmed from within the team.
He questioned if they truly understood the meaning of "comrade-in-arms," suggesting that in a real combat situation, they might abandon an injured comrade for fear of being slowed down. He then imposed a three-hour squat punishment as a "farewell ceremony" for Xu Dongdong, stating she could finalize her resignation after it was over.
After Qin Guan's departure, Wen Jing expressed her disappointment, emphasizing that Blue Lightning was a collective and that they had failed to grasp the principle that "unity is strength." Once both Qin Guan and Wen Jing left, the male soldiers were puzzled by the situation. The female soldiers, feeling guilty, apologized to Xu Dongdong and offered to intercede for her.
Xu Dongdong initially believed Ning Meng had been leading the others in mocking her, but Ning Meng clarified that she was recounting Chen Haozhe's embarrassing story, not talking about Xu Dongdong. Realizing her misunderstanding and impulsiveness, Xu Dongdong decided not to quit. As laughter filled the training ground once more, Qin Guan, who had been listening from a distance, quietly left, reassured. Driven by a strong desire not to fall behind, Xu Dongdong skipped dinner for extra training.
Ning Meng approached her, suggesting that practicing against a wall was useless and she should try a real combat simulation. With the encouragement and help of Ning Meng and her teammates, Xu Dongdong successfully completed a practice run and then passed the official assessment.
