My Love, Enlighten Me Episode 21 Recap
> My Love, Enlighten Me Recap
Following their emotional confrontation, Han Che, seemingly drunk and declaring his inability to leave Nuannuan, tried to pull her back to the hotel. Nuannuan, initially thinking he was just intoxicated, hailed a taxi to send him home. However, Han Che held her tightly, confessing his deep feelings. He admitted he hated his sober self for failing to keep her by his side and vowed to never let anyone take her from him again, asserting that she was his home.
Though Nuannuan found his words cheesy, she was visibly moved. In the taxi, he leaned close, whispering more endearments about how he couldn't live without her, which further swayed her. After a passionate kiss, she struggled to get him back to the hotel, where his childish demands for specific water temperatures and late-night porridge left her both exasperated and endeared.
When she commented on their reversed roles, he playfully retorted it was because she loved him, and then insisted she feed him. The next morning, Nuannuan woke to find Han Che had prepared a lavish breakfast. He tried to feed her a piece of steak and affectionately wiped cream from her lips, stirring her heart. As she tried to work, he clung to her, feigning a stomachache to get her attention.
When she had to leave for the film set, he dramatically climbed into a suitcase, pleading to be taken along, and she reluctantly agreed. Upon arrival at the set, Han Che introduced himself as Nuannuan's assistant, surprising the crew who knew Gu Li usually handled his affairs. When Nuannuan teased him about his suitability for the role, Han Che confidently declared he would obey all his boss's decisions, proving it by kissing her immediately when she playfully commanded him to.
He later offered to help Fang Hanchen change, who politely declined. Han Che also gave styling advice to Lin Jiayi, suggesting she wear earrings and apply blush to achieve a "girlish" shyness for her scene. Nuannuan was also cast in the scene as Lin Jiayi's best friend. When a scheduled actor's flight was cancelled, the director furiously demanded a replacement. Han Che immediately volunteered, insisting on playing the part opposite Nuannuan, as he didn't trust anyone else in the role.
During a basketball scene, both Fang Hanchen and Han Che played with intense dedication. Lin Jiayi correctly predicted Han Che's victory, but he didn't gloat, instead extending a hand to help Fang Hanchen up. Afterwards, over a meal, the four played a game guessing who cooked which dish. Han Che correctly identified Nuannuan's tofu balls because she had intentionally left out the ginger, knowing he dislikes it. The four then reminisced about their first meetings.
Lin Jiayi recalled seeing Fang Hanchen training late at the rehearsal hall, while he remembered being impressed by her popularity at the company. Han Che teasingly described his first impression of a younger Nuannuan as "dark-skinned, short, and plump" in a gaudy pink outfit, which she playfully denied. Despite the awkward first encounter, Han Che expressed a deep sentiment: "Anything that concerns you, whether it starts good or bad, will always turn out good in the end."
During a breathtaking fireworks display that concluded the shoot, Han Che suddenly felt unwell, experiencing dizziness. He fought through the pain, telling himself to endure while asking Nuannuan to focus only on him. He then reflected on how he might have ruined her dream of stardom, but emphasized that what they had now was more precious. As the fireworks peaked, Nuannuan, who felt cold and was trembling, shared a sweet, lingering kiss with him.
Two weeks later, Han Xue visited a dance studio and her impressive skills earned her a teaching position. Shortly after, Gu Li and Han Xue joined Nuannuan and Han Che for a hotpot meal. The atmosphere was lively, with Han Che affectionately calling Gu Li "brother-in-law," much to Gu Li's delight. Han Xue watched in amazement as Han Che doted on Nuannuan, marveling at the power of love.
Nuannuan returned to Han Che's old house to live with him again and was overjoyed to find he had renovated her room exactly to her liking. Later that night, while Nuannuan was on the phone with her mother, Han Che was struck by a splitting headache. He quietly went into his room and closed the door to take a call from Doctor Xu, hiding his pain from her.
Doctor Xu revealed that the surgery for his brain tumor could no longer be delayed. Han Che’s greatest fear was losing his memories of Nuannuan due to complications, but Doctor Xu gravely reminded him, "Only by living can you have memories." The next morning, Han Che prepared a grand breakfast and surprised Nuannuan by inviting her on their first official date. Ecstatic, she hurried to get ready. As she left the room, Han Che watched her with a heavy heart, his joy overshadowed by deep worry about his impending surgery and uncertain future.
