Ling Sansan celebrated her happiest day, marrying her Mr. Right after eight years of waiting. She reminisced about past friendships that faded, noting that only Wang Chen remained by her side through everything, sharing both joy and sorrow. Acknowledging that Wang Chen was half of her happiness, Ling Sansan presented her with the bridal bouquet, wishing her best friend lasting happiness with her own destined Mr. Right.
Wang Chen accepted the bouquet, momentarily dreaming of her own wedding and asking Qin Sirui for advice. He simply encouraged her to be herself. As Wang Chen prepared for Qin Sirui’s mother's birthday party, she discovered Qin Sirui’s medical record. It clearly stated he was allergic to cabbage mustard, not cat fur, directly contradicting his previous claims. Feeling deceived, she resolved to confront him at the party. The birthday celebration was held at Qin Sirui’s Rinascite Canteen.
His mother delivered a welcoming speech, highlighting her son’s new venture. Wang Chen arrived, offering her birthday wishes and a gift to Qin Sirui’s mother. Wang Chen then pulled Qin Sirui aside and directly questioned him about the medical record. He admitted to the lie, explaining that his parents' divorce was due to his father's affair with a cat-owning woman, which made his mother unable to accept any woman with a cat.
Qin Sirui knew that Wang Chen would not part with her beloved Lady Meow otherwise, and he desperately wanted to be with her, even if it meant being selfish. He asked Wang Chen to understand and try to enter his world. The party atmosphere turned hostile as other guests began to mock Wang Chen's appearance and background. They recognized her from an old online broadcast, calling her "Lady Ugly."
While the "real" Wang Chen might have endured such humiliation, her assertive alter-ego, "Coffee," would not. Enraged, Wang Chen snatched a guest’s phone and threw it. Qin Sirui apologized on her behalf, but the guest insisted on a personal apology from Wang Chen. With deep humiliation, Wang Chen muttered an apology, then, provoked further, repeated it loudly. Qin Sirui's mother intervened, dismissing Wang Chen as delusional. Overwhelmed, Wang Chen expressed her feelings to Qin Sirui.
She questioned her place in his world, citing her inability to keep Lady Meow, her discomfort in designer clothes and high heels, her lack of international experience, her painstaking efforts to learn Western dining etiquette, and her careful work on a jacket for him, fearing he would dislike it. She told him that she had nothing left but her pride.
When he still asked her to be his girlfriend, Wang Chen realized that she valued being herself more than liking him. Declaring she was not Cinderella, she returned her high heels and decided to leave. As she walked away, Qin Sirui’s mother publicly humiliated her further, emphasizing the vast social gap between them and demanding another apology. Wang Chen, utterly defeated, apologized once more.
Qin Sirui tried to follow her, but his mother stopped him, creating an obstacle that prevented him from reaching her when she stumbled. Miao Yu, who had been present and witnessed the entire distressing scene, stepped forward and helped her leave. Wang Chen felt that everything that had happened was like a dream, and it was only the unfinished jacket she was making for Qin Sirui that made it feel real.
Back at the Rinascite Canteen, a dejected Qin Sirui confided in Luca, saying his relationship with Wang Chen felt as though it had ended before it even began. His mother then presented him with a photo of Miao Yu assisting Wang Chen, twisting the narrative to portray Miao Yu as suspiciously close to Wang Chen and as an opportunistic online company boss who had recently broken up with his own girlfriend.
This reinforced Qin Sirui's mother's disapproval, suggesting Wang Chen was not a suitable partner for him. Meanwhile, Ling Sansan frantically called Miao Yu, worried because Wang Chen had disappeared all day, her phone off. Miao Yu found Wang Chen sitting outside his apartment building in the heavy rain, distraught and convinced she had lost everything. Miao Yu confronted her grief, reminding her that she still had her friends, her company Sunray, Lady Meow, and him.
He urged her not to let one person's departure negate her entire world. Despite Ling Sansan and Bi Guan's best efforts to console her, Wang Chen remained despondent. It was Miao Yu sending her pictures of Lady Meow and Coffee that finally brought a smile back to her face, reigniting her joy at the thought of bringing Lady Meow home. Wang Chen visited Miao Yu's home to pick up Lady Meow.
She was surprised to find him there, not at work, and discovered he was running a fever, indicating he had taken sick leave. She stayed to care for him. Later, Miao Yu awoke to find Wang Chen asleep, exhausted from caring for him. He left a thoughtful, encouraging note in her bag before quietly observing her. Wang Chen later read his message, reflecting on his words about love being a small part of life and the importance of moving forward.
Inspired, she resolved to start anew with Lady Meow. She noticed Lady Meow's nails were trimmed and how much the cat missed Coffee, finding Miao Yu unexpectedly considerate. Wang Chen embraced Miao Yu's advice, actively working to market her brand, Sunray. She began setting up her first online store, receiving help from fellow patient friends with photography and modeling. Constantly busy, she frequently called Miao Yu for business advice.
Ling Sansan observed Wang Chen's rapid recovery and positive transformation with happiness, noticing subtle changes in her friend. As the anticipated date of November 22nd approached, everyone was confident that the upcoming lunar eclipse would restore them to normal. Wang Chen’s message in the patient group, expressing her eagerness for the "accidents" caused by the comet to finally end, deeply disturbed Miao Yu. Under their confidentiality agreement, returning to normal meant severing ties.
He found himself unexpectedly upset by her excitement, realizing he cared deeply about her as a friend. Qin Sirui, still struggling with his feelings, drove to Wang Chen’s apartment building. However, he saw Miao Yu enter the building, fueling his misunderstanding about Wang Chen and Miao Yu’s relationship, and he drove away. Miao Yu had come to talk to Wang Chen, reflecting on his earlier harsh words.
He offered to put aside his usual concern for his image and, if she wished to reconcile with Ray, would call Bi Guan to help him explain everything to Qin Sirui.
