Chai Xiaoqi accidentally knocked over several perfume bottles, quickly apologizing and promising to clean up the mess. Fang Leng, however, approached her calmly, took some of the spilled perfume, and dabbed it on his pulse points, explaining that applying fragrance there allows it to evaporate faster with the blood's rhythm, making it more fragrant. Xiaoqi found the scent uniquely captivating. Moments later, Fang Leng unexpectedly pinned her against a wall and kissed her.

Caught off guard, Xiaoqi was momentarily lost in the kiss before realizing that she had planned to kiss him first. Fang Leng then clarified, stating that this kiss was simply him returning the favor from when she had kissed him during their fried chicken outing. He then instructed her to replicate the distinctive scent as soon as possible, as the broken perfumes were the result of months of R&D, giving her a chance to redeem herself.

Later, both Fang Leng and Chai Xiaoqi sought advice from their respective confidants about the surprising kiss. Xiao Bu, after extensively researching "Earthling kissing logic," told Xiaoqi that a sudden kiss implies long-term planning, and Fang Leng was likely just "returning the favor" from her previous kiss. Xiaoqi seemed to accept this explanation, feigning understanding. Meanwhile, Fang Leng consulted Mr. Han, who asserted that such a kiss indicated "pure interest."

Fang Leng, skeptical, suggested it could just be "close proximity" or "atmosphere." Mr. Han then diagnosed Fang Leng with "stress from having his first love," describing it as a subconscious self-deception in the face of unfamiliar emotions.

To prove genuine affection, Mr. Han offered his "God of Truth's rule" (also known as the "three-eye rule"): first, one cannot help but smile when seeing the person; second, one actively searches for them when they are absent; and third, one dreams of them even with eyes closed. Chai Xiaoqi struggled to replicate the specific perfume scent, trying various mixtures without success.

As she worked, she removed the caps from all bottles and, blindfolded, used her enhanced sense of smell to identify the notes. Fang Leng, entering the room silently, observed her. Xiaoqi, sensing a familiar aroma, reached out and touched Fang Leng's face, realizing his scent was the missing ingredient. She explicitly told him that the "desired taste" was his own scent, which she identified as pheromones or "Hormone Element."

Following this discovery, Fang Leng received an investigation report from Mr. Han, confirming that most market perfumes use animal musk for attraction, but human hormones could create a revolutionary new fragrance. Fang Leng immediately embraced this concept, instructing Mr. Han to rename the "Dreamy Love Perfume" to "Hormonal Fragrance" and to initiate research into purifying human hormones.

Over the next few days, Fang Leng found himself involuntarily displaying all three signs of Mr. Han's "God of Truth's rule": he would smile uncontrollably when he saw Xiaoqi, would actively search for her when she was not at her desk, and even dreamt of her, sometimes with fleeting visions of them kissing. Exhausted from poor sleep, Fang Leng, appearing visibly tired, misinterpreted his symptoms as annoyance from Xiaoqi's constant presence.

To remedy this, he inexplicably sent her on an external assignment to Sunshine Flower Garden, instructing her not to return until after work, leaving Xiaoqi utterly bewildered. Still grappling with his feelings, Fang Leng video-called Dr. Zhang, his psychiatrist, desperately seeking hypnosis to make him dislike Chai Xiaoqi. Dr. Zhang firmly refused, urging Fang Leng to embrace his true emotions, stating that fleeing from them only amplified his attachment.

Fang Leng, however, insisted that his amnesia made any future with someone impossible, viewing his feelings as mere temporary sensations. Dr. Zhang countered, accusing Fang Leng of cowardice rather than caution, and warned him against missing out on a genuine connection due to his fear. Their conversation was abruptly interrupted when Mr. Han rushed in with alarming news: Chai Xiaoqi had been involved in a serious car accident.

Fang Leng immediately raced to the scene, even claiming to be her boyfriend to the medical staff. To his immense relief, Xiaoqi was unharmed; she had been a Good Samaritan, bravely saving the injured victim. Overcome with relief and realization of her importance to him, Fang Leng embraced her tightly. After ensuring her well-being, he instructed Mr. Han to get her a safer helmet.

Now determined to confess his feelings, Fang Leng enlisted Mr. Han to plan a perfect proposal, confident in his assistant's "guaranteed success" methods. At a restaurant, Fang Leng's elaborate confession attempts were repeatedly upstaged and interrupted by other diners making grander declarations—first with 33 roses for "fate across three lifetimes," then with 999 roses for "long-lasting love," and finally a diamond ring proposal with a necklace named "Wandering Polaris."

Each time, Fang Leng was forced to improvise, much to his chagrin and Mr. Han's mortification, leading Mr. Han to text Fang Leng, blaming the "evil" restaurant. After the chaotic dinner, Fang Leng and Xiaoqi walked home. Noticing she was still hungry after the small Western meal, Fang Leng took her to a fried chicken place.

As Xiaoqi messily enjoyed the food, she pondered the deeper meaning of fried chicken over fleeting roses, asserting that fried chicken, once eaten, becomes a part of you, unlike roses which eventually wilt and are discarded. Fang Leng gently wiped her mouth clean, creating a tender moment between them. The blossoming romance was abruptly put to the test when Fang Leng's friend, Mr. Zhao, visited from Los Angeles.

During their conversation, Fang Leng mentioned Chai Xiaoqi, only for Mr. Zhao to reveal he had never had a girlfriend named Chai Xiaoqi in Los Angeles and had never even seen her. This revelation instantly ignited Fang Leng's suspicions about Xiaoqi's true identity. He immediately tasked Mr. Han with a thorough re-investigation, confirming that the previous information classifying Xiaoqi as Li Chunjiao's daughter was incorrect and that her true identity remained unclear.

Later, at a park, Fang Leng confronted Xiaoqi, demanding to know who she really was, accusing her of lying about being Li Chunjiao's daughter and about their supposed past connection in the States. Xiaoqi, unable to reveal her alien identity, tried to deflect and postpone the conversation. As a sudden downpour began, Fang Leng's amnesia-related trauma was triggered, causing him to hallucinate Xiaoqi betraying him by holding another man's hand. Overwhelmed by anger and a sense of profound betrayal, Fang Leng furiously pushed her away and stormed off into the rain.
