After King of Yiqi pushed Qiqi into the Cloud Pool, he cruelly ordered her to remain in the water until dawn, claiming the pool could cure all pains. Qiqi, furious, called him "Lv Ao, the Tyrant." The next morning, Qiqi was coughing. Lian Qiao quickly brought her ginger soup to warm her. Lian Qiao recalled how Qiqi's father, the Marquis, had doted on the original Chou Qingli, always comforting her when she cried after taking medicine.

Qiqi, upon hearing this, wistfully remarked that "It's good to have someone" and thought of her own master, wishing she were still alive. Seeing Qiqi lost in thought, Lian Qiao mistook it for homesickness and reassured her that with His Majesty here, this place was also her home. Qiqi, however, harbored resentment towards Lv Ao for his rough treatment, especially after he threw her into the pool the previous night, remarking to herself that he was a "mean man."

She pondered that she was only getting close to him to investigate his connection with the Blood Jade, not because she "liked" him, a lie she had told him. Meanwhile, Lv Ao, distracted by the memory of Qiqi's kiss from the previous night, found himself unable to focus on his official documents. He realized Qiqi's memory was indeed recovering, stirring a sense of unease within him.

Later, Qiqi enjoyed a game of pitch-pot with the palace maids, showcasing her exceptional skill by landing every shot, even with her eyes closed. She explained it was a technique similar to throwing fruits into string bags in her homeland. As they played joyfully, Consort Ling's maids, Lianqiu and Fudong, arrived to invite Qiqi to Consort Ling's residence.

Lian Qiao, wary of Consort Ling's jealousy and bad temper (which she attributed to being spoiled by her mother, the Dowager Consort Ling), immediately declined, citing Qiqi's poor health. Qiqi quickly feigned a severe headache, but the maids, anticipating such an excuse, had brought Doctor Lin. Doctor Lin, with a chilling smile, proposed to cure Qiqi with forty acupuncture needles, promising twenty more if the initial treatment was ineffective. Faced with this daunting prospect, Qiqi relented and agreed to go.

Consort Ling greeted Qiqi with condescending remarks about her recovered memory and appearance, contrasting it with her past as a "little fool with stinky mud." Unfazed, Qiqi retaliated by recalling how she had once set Consort Ling's dress on fire, forcing her to publicly roll on the ground to extinguish the flames. Infuriated, Consort Ling challenged Qiqi to a horse race.

When Lian Qiao protested that Qiqi couldn't ride, Consort Ling threatened that if Qiqi refused, she would have to pay her respects at Consort Ling's residence daily. Qiqi, seeing no other option, accepted the challenge. During the race, Qiqi took an early lead. Unable to catch up, Consort Ling was thrown to the ground when her own horse suddenly became startled. Qiqi rode past the fallen Consort Ling and left after sarcastically thanking her for the invitation.

Consort Ling, bruised and humiliated, rushed to the King of Yiqi's Ambergris Palace to demand justice. She accused Qiqi of casting spells and being a wicked woman possessed by a demon who intended to kill her. However, the King of Yiqi dismissed her complaints, pointing out that she had initiated the race and chosen her own horse. He added that if Qiqi had been the one complaining, he would have believed her.

He then scolded Consort Ling for engaging in such a dangerous activity with Qiqi, who had only recently recovered from a serious illness, clearly showing concern for Qiqi. Feeling utterly satisfied by Consort Ling's self-inflicted harm, Qiqi later mused that throughout her life, only one person had truly hurt her: her senior sister, a Witch Tribe priestess.

This senior sister had practiced Dark Witch Power, harming both Qiqi and their master, and was now likely the Chief of the Witch Tribe. Yinzi remarked to the King of Yiqi that Consort Ling would now hate Qiqi even more, to which the King replied, "That's not enough," hinting at a deeper scheme to provoke Consort Ling against Qiqi. The following day, Lv Ao sent numerous valuable treasures to Qiqi, seemingly as a gesture for her recovery.

This further enraged Consort Ling, who felt slighted. Despite the gifts, Lv Ao maintained his distance, forbidding Qiqi from approaching him within five zhang. Frustrated that she couldn't get close enough to investigate the Blood Jade, Qiqi tore up a drawing of Lv Ao, keeping one she had drawn of Lv Che, whom she found gentler and kinder. Taking advantage of a rainy day, Qiqi ventured out to collect mushrooms.

Using these, she concocted a "Witch Tribe's Fascinating Soup," testing it on a maid who, under its influence, readily repeated "His Majesty is a tyrant." With her plan ready, Qiqi decided to take Lv Ao some porridge, which was actually the Fascinating Soup. Lian Qiao skillfully distracted Yinzi with some pastries, keeping him busy while Qiqi exchanged Lv Ao's regular porridge for her special blend and quietly slipped into his chamber.

Lv Ao, commenting that the porridge tasted better than usual and asking if the cook had been changed, unsuspectingly drank the entire bowl. As he grew drowsy, Qiqi approached him and, to get her revenge, playfully drew on his face, muttering about his harshness and throwing her into the pool. She then tried to activate the Blood Jade near him, but it showed no reaction. Puzzled, she frantically searched the room.

Her gaze fell upon a sword Lv Ao wore, leading her to wonder if the Blood Jade's reaction was linked to it. As she struggled to pull the sword from its sheath, Lv Ao, still under the influence of the soup but with surprising strength, suddenly embraced her from behind, trapping her. Just then, Lv Che came to see his brother and entered the chamber without being announced. He found Lv Ao holding Qiqi closely on the bed.

A wave of profound sadness washed over Lv Che as he silently observed the scene. Later, in his own chambers, Lv Che drowned his sorrows in alcohol, clutching a doll he had once made for Qiqi. The thought of King of Yiqi embracing Qiqi left him heartbroken. Qiqi, meanwhile, was still held tightly by Lv Ao, unable to move, and was forced to lie on the bed, watching his sleeping face.
