Madam Shi received a frantic call from Xu Jingjing, who claimed Gao Zhan and Ni Dapeng were fighting. Rushing over, Madam Shi discovered it was a ruse for a surprise marriage proposal orchestrated by Mr. Ni. Dressed formally, Mr. Ni was teased by Madam Shi for looking more like a real estate agent than a groom. He sincerely explained his intentions, wanting to ease her worries about their relationship affecting the children's studies.
Citing a "Cathedral Theory" he learned from Xu Jingjing, he argued that a high-ceilinged house would stimulate creative thinking. He showed her a spacious room with a balcony reserved for Gao Zhan, promising it wouldn't hinder his studies and that he would honor all her wishes. Gao Zhan and Ni Dapeng emerged to add their own reassurances. Finally, Mr. Ni knelt with a ring and proposed. A tearful Madam Shi accepted, to everyone's immense relief.
On the way home, Gao Zhan gave Xu Jingjing a personal alarm device for her safety. In class, Wang Jiayao noticed the device and teased her about the gift from Gao Zhan. Later, Madam Shi expressed her wish for a simple, low-key wedding, and Mr. Ni readily agreed to follow her lead. Ni Dapeng was thrilled to receive a rare, unsolicited congratulatory message from Wang Jiayao.
Gao Zhan, however, was preoccupied, worrying that Xu Jingjing had yet to respond to his suggestion that she attend a university in Beijing. Eager to be part of the ceremony, Ni Dapeng enlisted Gao Zhan, Xu Jingjing, and Wang Jiayao to be wedding attendants.
Despite some initial hesitation—Gao Zhan feeling they were too old and Wang Jiayao citing a superstition that being a bridesmaid more than three times dooms one to be single—Xu Jingjing persuaded them to agree, understanding how meaningful the event was for their friends. At a dress fitting, Xu Jingjing and Wang Jiayao's formal attire stunned Gao Zhan and Ni Dapeng. To prepare a surprise for the couple, Gao Zhan suggested the four of them perform a song at the wedding.
Meanwhile, Kang Jiawei saw their social media posts about the wedding and furiously called Xu Jingjing, accusing her of getting distracted from her art college entrance exams. A frustrated Xu Jingjing hung up on him. Separately, Miss Chen and Mr. Zhao were on a clandestine date, constantly on edge about being spotted by students.
Miss Chen was especially anxious, fearing that a revealed relationship would undermine her authority, particularly as she had just been assigned to lead the advanced stream class. While practicing at a KTV, Xu Jingjing helped Gao Zhan with his singing by placing a hand on his stomach to guide his breathing from his core, causing a flustered Gao Zhan to blush. He then inadvertently mentioned that Xu Jingjing's father, Xu Bing, was supposed to be the master of ceremonies.
Xu Jingjing reacted strongly, refusing to attend if her father was involved, forcing Gao Zhan to find a replacement. Elsewhere, Xu Bing complained to someone about being "fired" from the emcee job, blaming his daughter for damaging his professional reputation and costing him income. Kang Jiawei, searching for a microphone, accidentally walked into the room where Miss Chen and Mr. Zhao were on their date. He quickly promised to keep their secret and fled.
Back in their own room, Gao Zhan's affectionate gaze made Xu Jingjing uncomfortable, and she hastily made an excuse to leave. Kang Jiawei later ran into Gao Zhan and seemed relieved to hear Xu Jingjing had already gone. At the wedding, the four friends sang a heartfelt song for Mr. Ni and Madam Shi. During the performance, Kang Jiawei unexpectedly appeared and positioned himself on stage between Xu Jingjing and Gao Zhan.
Afterwards, Xu Jingjing confronted Kang Jiawei about his strange behavior. He responded by reciting obscure movie and anime reviews that Xu Jingjing had posted on her social media. He then revealed that his longtime admired Douban online friend, "Give-up Virtuoso," was a fraud. A girl named Qi had been plagiarizing Xu Jingjing's Weibo content, leading him to believe Qi was the brilliant mind he connected with.
Kang Jiawei confessed that Xu Jingjing is the true "Give-up Virtuoso" and the person he had been searching for all along. Before a confused Xu Jingjing could fully process his confession, Gao Zhan called her away for a group photo. After the wedding, a delighted Ni Dapeng showered Wang Jiayao with toffees and chocolates. Gao Zhan sadly watched Xu Jingjing leave.
Later, Xu Jingjing received a message from Qi, who confessed she knew all along that Xu Jingjing was the original author and felt it was unfair to continue the deception. In their technology thesis class, the two girls no longer sat together.
Subsequently, during an art class, the teacher harshly criticized Xu Jingjing’s drawing, tore it up in front of everyone, and told her to leave if she wasn't serious, declaring that with her attitude, she will never pass the exam. Devastated, Xu Jingjing ran out of the classroom in tears.
