As Ke Siyi is lost in thought, Xu Nuo playfully remarks that for her level of obsession, she should be paying him. He teases her, accusing her of deliberately spilling water on him just for an excuse to touch him, which she denies. Their banter is interrupted by a colleague who, seeing them together, apologizes for interrupting and quickly leaves.
Afterward, Xu Nuo instructs Ke Siyi’s department to arrange a meeting with the popular author Sika Deer, emphasizing his personal attendance to show sincerity. Meanwhile, Wu Dongde calls Ke Siyi, tasking her with obtaining the renewal terms Hege Group plans to offer Sika Deer, stressing that this information is her only priority. Shortly after, Liang Zhixiao messages Ke Siyi, informing her that Yun Zhu fainted during training and is in the infirmary.
Busy with filming, he asks Ke Siyi to check on her. Upon arriving, Ke Siyi finds a cold Yun Zhu, who is disappointed it isn't Liang Zhixiao. She rejects Ke Siyi's attempts at care, accusing her of faking sisterly affection. Yun Zhu tearfully recounts a childhood memory where she lost a competition and had a nosebleed, but had to comfort a crying Ke Siyi, who had actually won.
She claims Ke Siyi's dramatic emotions always draw sympathy, leaving Yun Zhu's own hidden pain unnoticed. When Ke Siyi argues that Yun Zhu never voices her feelings, Yun Zhu tearfully confesses her long-held love for Liang Zhixiao, pleading with Ke Siyi to stay away from him. A guilt-ridden Ke Siyi leaves and calls Liang Zhixiao, asking him to visit Yun Zhu the next day with her favorite strawberries. The painful confrontation leaves Ke Siyi questioning her sensitivity to others.
She decides to go for a morning run to clear her head, but Xu Nuo insists on accompanying her, concerned for her safety. During the run, a jostle causes Ke Siyi to twist her ankle. Due to their connection, Xu Nuo feels the intense pain and cries out, confusingly asking if he twisted his own ankle. Realizing what happened, he instructs Ke Siyi to get on his back and carries her. They find a small street-side stall for a meal.
There, Xu Nuo suddenly feels Ke Siyi’s happiness from eating the familiar food. He explains that for him, such shops evoke bad memories of part-time jobs, but the nostalgic taste also triggers his own poignant memories of his mother, causing his mood to abruptly shift to sadness. Confused by his rapid emotional change, Ke Siyi watches as he gets up and leaves. Later, as Xu Nuo heads to negotiate with Sika Deer, he tells Ke Siyi to wait outside.
Recalling Wu Dongde’s orders, Ke Siyi protests, dramatically imagining scenarios where Xu Nuo could be harmed without her. Amused, Xu Nuo allows her into the compound but makes her wait outside the meeting room, where she secretly listens by the door. Inside, the eccentric Sika Deer dismisses Xu Nuo and proposes that both Hege and Wu Dongde present their best offers at the same time the next day, and he will choose the one he prefers.
This high-handed approach frustrates Xu Nuo. On the drive back, Xu Nuo, determined to find Sika Deer’s true motivation beyond money, instructs Zhou Yanxin to research all public information on the author. Ke Siyi secretly records Xu Nuo's analysis and sends it to Wu Dongde, immediately feeling a wave of guilt. Unaware of her betrayal, Xu Nuo senses her distress and, misinterpreting it as anxiety over their sensory connection, tells her he understands.
Feeling even more remorseful after he suggests she can compensate him by being "a hundred times" better to him, Ke Siyi resolves to make it up to him. She suddenly has the driver stop and buys a half-dead jasmine plant from an elderly street vendor. Xu Nuo finds the plant unsightly, but Ke Siyi explains her empathy for the vendor and her childhood memories of her mother wearing jasmine because they couldn't afford perfume.
Deeply affected by the story, which reminds him of his own mother, Xu Nuo impulsively tries to throw the plant away, but Ke Siyi stops him. He relents and allows her to keep it in her room. Meanwhile, Yun Zhu visits Liang Zhixiao for dinner. He shares his idea for a fighting-themed variety show he hopes will become a hit, asking for her professional input.
He explains he is driven to create it for the future of Kuang Hu Sports Center and all its members. Though he clarifies it is not solely for Ke Siyi, Yun Zhu feels a pang of jealousy. Later, Ke Siyi receives a clandestine call from Wu Dongde, who meets her in the underground garage. He offers to permanently halt the demolition of Kuang Hu if she can obtain Sika Deer's final contract terms from Hege.
Burdened by this, Ke Siyi tries to get information from Zhou Yanxin, but is instead sent to buy coffee. At the coffee shop, she runs into Liang Zhixiao, who excitedly details his variety show plan to save Kuang Hu, but Ke Siyi is too preoccupied to fully engage.
Back at the office, she overhears Xu Nuo’s unique strategy: recognizing Sika Deer’s narcissism and regret over not pursuing a singing career, Hege will offer him a guest spot on a popular singing show. Confident this will appeal to Sika Deer's ego, Xu Nuo believes it will beat any financial offer from Wu Dongde. Ke Siyi quickly texts this information to Wu Dongde.
As she watches Zhou Yanxin leave to finalize the contract, Ke Siyi is wracked with guilt but rationalizes her actions are for Kuang Hu. Just then, Xu Nuo approaches to discuss Liang Zhixiao's proposal, but before he can, Zhou Yanxin calls with bad news: Wu Dongde used their idea and signed Sika Deer first. Hege has lost.
