The next day, Ke Siyi apologized to Xu Nuo, finally accepting that he truly felt her physical pain, just as she experienced his emotions. She mused that their strange connection might be fated, but when she tried to hug him, he coldly offered her money. Now understanding his condition, Ke Siyi realized his coldness stemmed from an inability to feel, not true malice.

Xu Nuo warned her to keep their situation a secret from competitors and not to misinterpret his actions. Determined to fix their predicament, Ke Siyi argued that swapping back was for his benefit as well, since her injuries would transfer to him and compromise her ability to protect him. Their first attempt, head-bumping, which she found online, failed and only caused him pain. The attempt was interrupted by Zhou Yanxin, whom Xu Nuo furiously threatened to silence.

Later that night, Ke Siyi made another attempt to reverse the swap by trying to harness the power of a lightning storm, but her fear of thunder sent her hiding in Xu Nuo's arms. After he chastised her for her foolish ideas, Ke Siyi noted that she could sense he wasn't truly angry and reflected that at least she could be there to interpret his emotions for him.

Meanwhile, at the Black Dragon training gym, Li Da visited his daughter, Li Yunzhu, and overheard the coach revealing plans to market her based on her looks as an "otaku goddess" rather than her fighting skills, which he deemed subpar due to her previous training at Kuang Hu. Enraged, Li Da confronted them, insisting his daughter was an athlete, not a commodity.

However, Li Yunzhu defended her decision, arguing that Kuang Hu also profited from her and couldn't advance her career. She stated that the grueling, commercially-focused path at Black Dragon was a necessary step for her success and told her father not to visit again if he intended to persuade her to return. A stunned Li Da could only watch as she walked away.

Zhou Yanxin informed Xu Nuo that Ke Siyi’s ex-boyfriend, Liang Zhixiao, was behind a public account disparaging their company, likely motivated by jealousy. Liang Zhixiao later confronted Ke Siyi, strongly disapproving of her working as Xu Nuo’s bodyguard and moving into his home. From his office window, Xu Nuo saw Liang Zhixiao hug Ke Siyi and immediately went to intervene.

He broke them up, reminded Ke Siyi that she was not to leave his sight, and accused her of being overly familiar with her ex-boyfriend. After sending Ke Siyi away, Xu Nuo privately spoke with Liang Zhixiao. Instead of demanding he stop, Xu Nuo challenged him to continue writing and prove Kuang Hu's "indestructible value" through his words.

Later, Ke Siyi correctly sensed that Xu Nuo was the one who was upset, likely because he had seen her hugging another man. She jokingly called herself his "top match," and Xu Nuo advised her to use him as a shield if Liang Zhixiao bothered her again, cryptically adding that she shouldn't let "old love rekindle and affect my mood." Worried about Ke Siyi, Lin Wen contacted Zhou Yanxin, who arranged for her to visit the office.

There, Lin Wen witnessed Xu Nuo's overprotective behavior firsthand. He forbade Ke Siyi from doing simple office tasks for fear of injury and, upon seeing Lin Wen, called her a "violent woman" and forbade Ke Siyi from meeting her. Zhou Yanxin privately threatened to expose how Xu Nuo had engineered Ke Siyi's contract if he kept her from her friend, forcing Xu Nuo to back down.

Lin Wen told Ke Siyi that other female employees were jealous and questioned if Xu Nuo's strange possessiveness was love. Ke Siyi dismissed it as stress-induced paranoia. After Ke Siyi left, Zhou Yanxin successfully secured a lunch date with Lin Wen. Citing negative public opinion, Xu Nuo temporarily halted the gymnasium construction and used this as a pretext to formalize Ke Siyi's contract, while deliberately keeping her away from confidential documents.

At the same time, he learned from Zhou Yanxin that a competitor, Wu Dongde, was trying to poach Hege Media's top writers. Xu Nuo predicted this move, knowing that undermining Hege’s literary assets was Wu Dongde's fastest path to establishing his new company. That evening, when Ke Siyi again raised the topic of swapping back, Xu Nuo showed reluctance. He admitted that experiencing her pain, such as menstrual cramps, had given him a new understanding of others.

Their talk was interrupted by Zhou Yanxin delivering a package of books Xu Nuo had ordered for Ke Siyi, recalling his earlier comment that she should "read more books" to "suck the water out of [her] brain." This gesture made Ke Siyi see a warmer side to the "iceberg CEO." The following day, Xu Nuo implemented a new company policy granting three days of paid menstrual leave, delighting the female staff.

Ke Siyi praised his newfound empathy, but he questioned if her own lifelong, strong empathy wasn't a burden. She explained that feeling others' joy and sorrow—from the embarrassment of a teased classmate to the grief of a bereaved family—was not a burden but a connection to the shared human experience, because "they are you, and me." Listening to her, Xu Nuo was struck by her profound perspective and saw her as far less ignorant than he had previously thought, finding himself unexpectedly drawn to her.
