In her new room at the Black Dragon team's facility, Yun Zhu reflects on her departure. In a heartfelt monologue directed at her father, Li Da, she expresses her sorrow, acknowledging Kuang Hu as his lifelong dream but emphasizing that her own life and dreams are hers to pursue. She reaffirms that while she can no longer be a player for Kuang Hu, she will always be his daughter.

Back at Kuang Hu, the team grapples with Yun Zhu's move to a rival. Lin Wen harshly criticizes Yun Zhu for abandoning them, while Weiwei and Ke Siyi defend her. Ke Siyi argues that joining Black Dragon was Yun Zhu's only chance to pursue her dream as mixed martial arts gains more prominence. Coach Li Da reassures Ke Siyi that he will do his best to protect Kuang Hu.

At Hege Media, the new President Xu Nuo begins a swift and ruthless reform, dissolving several unprofitable subsidiaries, including advertising and fighting teams, leading to widespread layoffs. A director, whose company faces dissolution, desperately pleads with Xu Nuo, explaining his employees are sole providers for their families. Xu Nuo coldly gives him three minutes to make a case, but ultimately dismisses his plea, stating that he runs a business, not a charity.

He orders his lawyer, Zhou Yanxin, to proceed with the dissolution. Enraged, the director throws an object in frustration, and Xu Nuo instinctively shields Ke Siyi. Appalled by his cruelty, Ke Siyi confronts Xu Nuo, who gives her three minutes to justify sparing the employees. Flustered, she accuses him of being heartless, prompting Xu Nuo to threaten to fire her. Zhou Yanxin quickly intervenes, pulling Ke Siyi away. Later, Zhou Yanxin explains Xu Nuo's past to Ke Siyi.

Three years ago, Xu Nuo’s mother persuaded him to help a desperate financier, reminding him of his own father's past struggles. Yielding to his mother's plea after three minutes of hesitation, Xu Nuo agreed, but it was too late. The financier, despondent after the initial rejection, had already driven his car into Xu Nuo and his mother's vehicle, killing her. That incident cost Xu Nuo his only living relative.

Since then, Xu Nuo has strictly adhered to making all decisions within three minutes, prioritizing objective facts over emotion to prevent anyone from hurting him again. Hearing this, Ke Siyi's anger dissolves into profound pity. Zhou Yanxin warns her never to provoke Xu Nuo about the three-minute rule. Zhou Yanxin then confronts Xu Nuo about shielding Ke Siyi. Xu Nuo reveals a bizarre phenomenon: Ke Siyi's pain, including menstrual cramps, is being transferred to him.

He explains that he feels her physical sensations and that her painkillers alleviate his symptoms. Unconvinced, Zhou Yanxin takes Xu Nuo to a doctor, who suggests the symptoms are likely panic attacks or hallucinations induced by alexithymia—a condition preventing him from identifying and expressing emotions. Xu Nuo dismisses the diagnosis, insisting the pain transference is real. Unfazed, Xu Nuo still plans to fire Ke Siyi, but Zhou Yanxin argues that keeping her close might be safer.

Meanwhile, Zhou Yanxin receives news that a new online account called "Tiger's Roar" is libeling Xu Nuo, manipulating public opinion. Xu Nuo remains unconcerned and decides to proceed with an assessment visit to the Kuang Hu gymnasium that afternoon. Ke Siyi meets her childhood friend, Zhixiao, who expresses concern for her working under Xu Nuo.

He recounts a story about Xu Nuo suing an assistant who missed work for one day, even though she was pregnant and had gone to the hospital, portraying Xu Nuo as a heartless man. Ke Siyi, now understanding Xu Nuo's past, defends him, suggesting his cruelty stems from a painful past. Zhixiao urges her to resign, but she refuses, determined to support her father and Kuang Hu, especially after Yun Zhu’s departure.

Later, Xu Nuo and the assessment team arrive at the Kuang Hu gym. He informs them that Hege Group owns the property and plans to demolish it for a new shopping mall, ordering them to leave. When Li Da confronts him, Xu Nuo dismisses his competence, stating he doesn't bet on uncertain outcomes. Overwhelmed by the news, Li Da collapses. At the hospital, a recovering Li Da reassures Ke Siyi and Weiwei.

Weiwei reveals that Xu Nuo's harsh words caused Li Da's collapse. Ke Siyi reaffirms her resolve to remain Xu Nuo's bodyguard, believing her proximity to him is Kuang Hu's only hope. Meanwhile, Zhou Yanxin tries to flirt with Lin Wen at the hospital, theatrically accusing her of assault after she pushed him and demanding she take responsibility. Lin Wen dismisses him as a blackmailer. The next day, protesters surround Xu Nuo's company building.

To create a diversion, Zhou Yanxin impersonates Xu Nuo and, in front of live media, dramatically calls out Lin Wen, accusing her of injuring him and demanding she "be an adult" and contact him. Meanwhile, Xu Nuo and Ke Siyi's escape through the parking lot is blocked by another group of protesters. Xu Nuo placates them by announcing a generous severance package. Just as the situation escalates, Zhixiao appears and leads them to a freight elevator.

Inside the elevator, Xu Nuo notices Ke Siyi and Zhixiao holding hands and jealously confronts Zhixiao. He asserts that Ke Siyi is his "private bodyguard," unequivocally stating, "she's mine," and warns that he dislikes complex relationships among his employees. After Zhixiao leaves, Xu Nuo asks Ke Siyi why she is protecting him, and she replies it's simply her job.

Later, at the gym, Lin Wen and Weiwei are surprised by Ke Siyi's high pain tolerance during training; she feels nothing even from a powerful punch. As they decide to hit her simultaneously, Xu Nuo bursts in, grimacing in pain. He shouts, "Stop it! She's mine and you can't hurt her!" He explains that hitting Ke Siyi is the same as hitting him, because he feels all her pain.

He pulls a bewildered Ke Siyi away, who internally remarks that his over-the-top possessiveness feels like a real-life "overbearing CEO fell in love with me" drama. Ignoring her protests, Xu Nuo brings Ke Siyi to his home, forbidding her from fighting or getting injured again. He forcefully instructs her to stay and sleep there overnight. Ke Siyi, misunderstanding his intention, protests that she is there to work, not to sleep with him. Acknowledging that he can fall for her, she finds his pace "too fast." Undeterred, Xu Nuo sternly commands, "Sleep right here!" leaving Ke Siyi's heart pounding in confusion.
