Heartbroken after Xu Nuo's public declaration for Yun Zhu, Ke Siyi seeks an outlet by throwing herself into intense training with Lin Wen for the upcoming "Wrestle Girl" variety show. Lin Wen, observing Ke Siyi's turmoil, accuses Xu Nuo of trying to date both sisters and urges Ke Siyi to leave him.
Numb from the pain, Ke Siyi finally agrees and asks Lin Wen to hit her harder, hoping the physical pain might distract from her emotional suffering, only to lament that she feels nothing. Meanwhile, at home, Xu Nuo suddenly collapses in agony, feeling the full force of the blows Ke Siyi is taking in her training. He calls her, and recalling Zhou Yanxin's advice to feign weakness, exaggerates his suffering, telling Ke Siyi he's dying.
Concerned, Ke Siyi rushes back to find him dramatically overplaying his injury. She sees through his act, mocking his exaggerated cries. Xu Nuo persists, provocatively asking if he should call his "sweetheart" Li Yunzhu for help. Just then, Yun Zhu coincidentally calls. Overcome with jealousy, Ke Siyi snatches the phone. Unaware she's speaking to Ke Siyi, Yun Zhu asserts that her heart is now "empty" and invites Xu Nuo to meet.
Taking the phone back, Xu Nuo insists he must meet Yun Zhu to clarify something and asks Ke Siyi to wait for his return. After Xu Nuo leaves, Ke Siyi expresses her frustration, questioning why he treats her so kindly if he doesn't truly like her. Xu Nuo meets Yun Zhu and presents her with a lucky bracelet, explaining it was given to him by his rescuer during a car accident three years ago.
This prompts Yun Zhu to recall the incident she witnessed with Ke Siyi, remembering how Ke Siyi urged her to call for an ambulance while she rushed to encourage Xu Nuo, who was trapped. Xu Nuo recounts being semi-conscious, only remembering a pair of hands holding his and a voice. He tells Yun Zhu he's been searching for her since, believing the cloud motif on the bracelet referred to her name, "Yun."
Realizing Xu Nuo has mistaken her for Ke Siyi, Yun Zhu subtly plays along. When Xu Nuo offers to repay her in any way, she demands they announce a relationship. However, Xu Nuo firmly rejects her, explaining that while he wants to repay his debt, the bracelet cannot buy love because his heart belongs to Ke Siyi. Stunned, Yun Zhu watches him leave and privately vows to never tell him the truth, envious of Ke Siyi's seemingly effortless good fortune.
Back home, worried that Xu Nuo will feel her pain during the next day's match and become suspicious, Ke Siyi skips training. She devises a plan to make him sleep so deeply that his senses will be dulled. She secretly adds extra melatonin to his chicken soup and milk and sprays a sleep-inducing spray on his pillow. When Xu Nuo returns, he is in a cheerful mood, having settled things with Yun Zhu.
Ke Siyi misinterprets his happiness, assuming his date went well. Before Xu Nuo can explain, she offers him the medicated soup. After he drinks it, commenting on its good taste, she announces her decision to resign and move out after her graduation. Visibly heartbroken, Xu Nuo questions her change of heart, reminding her of her past confession. Ke Siyi dismisses her words as childish nonsense and goes to bed.
The next day, Ke Siyi, as the "Masked Heroine," adopts an uncharacteristically aggressive strategy in her match. She dominates her opponent until she is startled by the sight of her father, Lin Da, in the audience. The distraction causes her to falter, and she is swiftly defeated and eliminated. Later, Liang Zhixiao discusses using the "resurrection card" with Yun Zhu to bring Ke Siyi back, but a bitter Yun Zhu scoffs at the idea.
Overwhelmed by her defeat and feeling she has let everyone down, Ke Siyi breaks down at home. Xu Nuo comforts her, taking her to a park to swing on the swingsets, telling her it was something his mother taught him to do to cast away worries. Sensing she is hiding something, he asks why she is so unhappy. When she hesitates, he assures her he will help her no matter what.
Ke Siyi warns him to be careful, but Xu Nuo reveals he is aware of the dangers and now wants to protect not just himself, but "something else." He urges her to smile for her own happiness. When she asks if he was worried about her, he playfully denies it, but she points out his tell-tale habit of touching his neck when he lies. The next morning, Ke Siyi and Xu Nuo share an awkward breakfast.
Their recent deep conversation has made their interaction strained, like a new couple. A flustered Xu Nuo, his heart pounding, quickly leaves for work as Ke Siyi assures him she will wait for him to come home.
