Following their tense encounter at the restaurant, Ke Siyi deliberately creates a commotion by stomping around, knowing the shared pain will bring Xu Nuo to her side. He forcefully stops her, suspecting she is jealous of his blind date. Ke Siyi denies it, but as she tries to flee, she realizes that the sudden joy she feels amidst her own panic must be coming from him. Her suspicion confirmed, her panic turns to joy.
She warns Xu Nuo against any future blind dates. When Xu Nuo, a lawyer, accuses her of threats, Ke Siyi dares him to sue her. Witnessing this, their friend Lin Wen mockingly points out the cycle of jealousy: Xu Nuo's jealousy over Ke Siyi’s praise for Liang Zhixiao led to the blind date, and now Ke Siyi's jealousy is causing her to lash out at Lin Wen. Lin Wen concludes they are clearly in love.
Following this, Ke Siyi asks Lin Wen to help her request a leave of absence for the next day. Ke Siyi uses the excuse of supporting Lin Wen in her 1-on-1 knockout match to get the day off, but she is secretly a participant herself. She hesitates to compete, fearing that any injury she sustains will cause pain to Xu Nuo.
Liang Zhixiao, the show's producer, reassures her, explaining that due to her popularity, her opponents will be intentionally weaker to ensure she advances. Though she feels it's unfair, Ke Siyi agrees and delivers powerful KOs that thrill the audience. After the match, Lin Wen strategically posts photos on social media to lure Zhou Yanxin to their celebratory BBQ.
Having watched the competition, Zhou Yanxin takes the bait and rushes to the gathering, where he provokes an already annoyed Xu Nuo by gloating about having dinner with Ke Siyi. Frustrated by Ke Siyi's absence and unreturned calls, Xu Nuo paces anxiously. At the BBQ, Zhou Yanxin advises Ke Siyi not to answer, certain that Xu Nuo is furious with jealousy. As predicted, unable to reach her, Xu Nuo resorts to using their emotional connection.
He watches a series of tragic and comedic films; while he feels nothing, a happily dining Ke Siyi suddenly finds herself uncontrollably crying and laughing, bewildering everyone. Realizing she cannot ignore the emotional fluctuations, Ke Siyi calls Xu Nuo back. To prevent further distress, she hastily asks Liang Zhixiao to drive her to Xu Nuo's home. During the ride, Ke Siyi explains her emotional state is directly "because of" Xu Nuo, hinting at their complex connection, which puzzles Liang Zhixiao.
On the way, Ke Siyi vents to Liang Zhixiao, describing Xu Nuo as a "cruel" and "abusive" boss who would use the entire Hege Group legal team against her if she tried to leave. When they arrive, Liang Zhixiao sees Ke Siyi approach Xu Nuo and, recalling her words, angrily punches him. Already agitated, Xu Nuo retaliates, and the two men brawl.
Ke Siyi frantically tries to intervene, and failing to stop them, she instinctively protects Xu Nuo by kicking Liang Zhixiao aside. A triumphant Xu Nuo gloats at Liang Zhixiao, who fumes and drives away. While tending to Xu Nuo's injuries, Ke Siyi feels immense guilt, but Xu Nuo is overtly pleased. He praises her for being a qualified bodyguard, promising a 30% salary increase and revoking their rule against physical contact.
He declares that she can now get close, hug, or even kiss him when protecting him. Ke Siyi feigns anger as she walks away, but secretly, her heart swells with elation, finally certain their feelings are mutual. The next morning, Ke Siyi is secretly watering a hidden plant when Xu Nuo appears. She tries to hide it, but he surprisingly allows it to stay and even takes it to bask in the sun, admitting he has grown attached to it.
Overjoyed, Ke Siyi hugs Xu Nuo, who stiffens but doesn't push her away. She playfully suggests a kiss, referencing his new rule, only for him to point out she has sleep in her eye. Meanwhile, Liang Zhixiao, sporting an injury on his face from the fight, encourages Yun Zhu to seize a top-tier training opportunity abroad. Yun Zhu, reluctant to leave him, subtly hints at her feelings, but he seems oblivious.
Frustrated, she takes matters into her own hands, publicly announcing on social media that she likes Liang Zhixiao, not Xu Nuo. This shocks Liang Zhixiao and causes an internet stir. Despite her direct confession, he hesitates to reject her clearly, only insisting on taking her home. When pressed, he admits his affection for Ke Siyi is "love," leaving Yun Zhu heartbroken.
Yun Zhu's public confession without a clear response from Liang Zhixiao leads to widespread online ridicule, with netizens accusing her of using powerful men to advance her career. Distraught, she refuses to see a concerned Ke Siyi. Ke Siyi and her friends confront Liang Zhixiao, urging him to clarify the situation, but he refuses to lie and say he likes Yun Zhu, believing it would be more embarrassing. He has a statement released via Hege Media, claiming he was unilaterally pursuing Yun Zhu and apologizing for the trouble caused. The statement also clarifies that Hege Media, not Liang Zhixiao, invited her to the show. Xu Nuo then takes her place in an exclusive interview to protect her reputation. Ke Siyi rushes to the office after hearing the news, arriving just after the interview.
She confronts him, demanding to know why he would publicly admit to liking and pursuing Yun Zhu. Xu Nuo coldly responds that he doesn't need to report his romantic life to his bodyguard. Heartbroken, Ke Siyi leaves the office, leaving a desolate Xu Nuo behind. Later, at home, Xu Nuo cannot find Ke Siyi. Zhou Yanxin sharply criticizes him, comparing him to Liang Zhixiao for hurting one woman to protect another.
Xu Nuo explains with resignation that Yun Zhu is his lifesaver and he feels a profound debt to her. Only by fully repaying that debt, he states, can he consider his feelings for Ke Siyi without any burden. Finally, Xu Nuo confesses to Zhou Yanxin, "I think I've fallen in love with Ke Siyi," to which Zhou Yanxin simply replies, "Okay, you finally admitted it."
