The plates slid off, falling onto their car. Chen Xun quickly swerved to protect Cat, who sustained only minor scratches. Chen Xun, however, was critically injured and rendered unconscious, immediately rushed into surgery. Cat was overwhelmed with guilt.
Ning Weijin, present at the hospital, comforted Cat, assuring him the doctors would do everything they could for Chen Xun. The police located the responsible party and asked Cat to assist with the investigation. Cat was reluctant to leave Chen Xun's side, but Dingding persuaded him, explaining that helping the police understand the accident was important for Chen Xun's sake, and she would stay to look after him.
