Jiang Kele, initially confused by the line of questioning, explains they have many "sparks" like physical affection, but Granny Fu Shun clarifies she is interested in their emotional connection in real life, not just within the game.
Still somewhat bewildered, Jiang Kele declares she will return immediately to get a definitive answer from Lu Xiao about their relationship status. Granny Fu Shun stops her, asking if she has considered how she would date him, suggesting real-world experiences like amusement park rides or international travel.
This thought excites Jiang Kele, who proclaims she now understands and will not only establish their relationship but also "drag him out" into the real world, joyfully concluding that the secret passage must have been built for their love. Later, Jiang Kele confronts the virtual Lu Xiao in a familiar setting, revealing it is where their love will end. The virtual Lu Xiao is saddened and offers to change if he has treated her poorly.

Transformed by the makeup, Jiang Kele receives numerous compliments from everyone at Bayhouse, who remark on her striking appearance. Just as she prepares to approach Lu Xiao, Granny Fu Shun calls with devastating news: Lu Xiao's mother has passed away.
Lu Xiao and Jiang Kele immediately rush to the nursing home, where Lu Xiao sees his mother's empty room and personal belongings. Granny Fu Shun appears, explaining to a perplexed Lu Xiao that after his adoption by Xu Guanghan, she visited his mother annually to reassure her of his well-being, which eventually allowed his mother to cease her lifelong search.
Granny Fu Shun adds that his mother had no regrets, having been able to reunite with him in her final days. Overwhelmed by grief, Lu Xiao turns away, asking to be left alone as he returns to Bayhouse. Jiang Kele, deeply concerned, is advised by Guan Qianya to respect Lu Xiao's need for space. Upon returning to Bayhouse, Lu Xiao locks himself in his room, refusing to eat or speak.
Jiang Kele remains steadfast outside his door, attempting to offer him breakfast and lunch, and assuring him she will stay until he is ready to talk or eat. She voices her worry, noting that everyone else is also concerned about his unresponsiveness. Su Lie and Luo Ke, observing Lu Xiao's continued seclusion, believe he is ill and suggest contacting Lei Na.
However, Jiang Kele stops them, explaining that Lei Na has already visited and instructed them not to disturb Lu Xiao, urging them to allow him to rest undisturbed for a few days. Reluctantly, Su Lie and Luo Ke comply with Lei Na's instructions. That night, Lu Xiao finally emerges from his room and finds Jiang Kele asleep by his door. He gently carries her to the sofa and covers her with a blanket.
Meanwhile, Guan Qianya, worried about Jiang Kele's whereabouts, messages Xu Nian. Xu Nian discovers Jiang Kele on the sofa, who then wakes up and immediately checks on Lu Xiao, only to find his room empty. After a brief search, they locate Lu Xiao at the welfare institution, where he is drinking alone. Seeing this, Xu Nian and Guan Qianya discreetly leave Jiang Kele to comfort him.
Lu Xiao expresses profound self-blame, lamenting that if he had not left his mother, she might have lived longer. Jiang Kele patiently reassures him, urging him not to shoulder all the blame. She suggests that even if he had stayed, he might have faced other regrets, advising him to let go of the past and live in the present, a lesson her own father taught her. To help him cope, she offers to take him to a special place.
Guan Qianya then asks Xu Nian about his parents, prompting him to reveal that he has lived at Bayhouse since childhood and knows nothing about them. He recalls Xu Guanghan telling him his mother was an irresponsible woman who abandoned him at the hospital after birth, making him feel no desire to seek her out. However, Qianya suggests Xu Guanghan might have fabricated the story to discourage him from searching.
Xu Nian admits he also suspects this, and that he has decided to leave Bayhouse to uncover the truth about his origins. Guan Qianya expresses excitement about his decision to leave, but Xu Nian explains the timing isn't right. He fears that if he leaves alone, Xu Guanghan might retaliate against the others at Bayhouse.
He also mentions Lu Xiao's current grief over his mother's death, stating he will wait until Lu Xiao feels better before discussing his plans with him. Xu Nian advises Qianya to be patient and await his news, to which she promises to wait for him indefinitely.
