In the serene Peach Forest beneath Kuafu Mountain, Lingxi awoke from a recurring dream. She often dreamed of the God of War killing many beings, including Heavenly Soldiers, members of the Demon Tribe, and even the Heaven-Devouring Beast. This disturbed her, as the tales she read depicted the God of War leading a hundred thousand Heavenly Soldiers against the Demon Tribe, ultimately sealing the Demon Lord before entering an eternal slumber in the Immortal Sea.
Seeking answers, she tried to rouse her father, Le Bo, who was deep in a drunken sleep and dismissed her concerns. Suddenly remembering an important task, Le Bo frantically told Lingxi to deliver a vital medicine to High Immortal Liu Yun, urging her to find Chengyan.
Unable to locate Chengyan, Lingxi seized the opportunity to finally leave the Peach Forest, a place her father had forbidden her from leaving since childhood, and decided to deliver the medicine to the Heavenly Palace herself. Upon reaching the South Gate of Heaven, Lingxi was immediately stopped by the guards, who informed her that entry was restricted to those with invitations for the ongoing conferment ceremony of the God of Heavenly Thunder.
Despite her protests and mentioning her father, Le Bo, as an Immortal Doctor, the guards denied her entry, claiming they had never heard of him and warned her against causing a ruckus. Frustrated, Lingxi leaned against a nearby spiritual tree, which instantly crumbled into ash, drawing the attention of the guards. Seizing the distraction, Lingxi slipped past them and entered the Heavenly Palace. Inside, the Heavenly Palace buzzed with immortals awaiting the conferment ceremony.
Lingxi overheard Star Lord Siming and Daoist Immortal Peng discussing the God of Heavenly Thunder's trial, which required him to withstand nine bolts of heavenly lightning on the Purple Cloud Platform. Curious, Lingxi asked who the God of Heavenly Thunder was. High God Yunfeng, appearing nearby, playfully pointed out the 'most tanned and ugliest' figure in the hall.
Lingxi, comparing him to the valiant image of the God of War from her books, silently questioned how such a person could become a God of War, agreeing with High God Yunfeng's assessment. High God Yunfeng seemed amused by her candor and good foresight, but Lingxi quickly spotted Heavenly Soldiers searching the area. Hastily handing the medicine bottle to High God Yunfeng, she asked him to deliver it to High Immortal Liu Yun, then swiftly made her escape.
Lingxi's frantic dash led the Heavenly Soldiers on a chase. As she tried to evade them, she was injured, causing her to fall into a vast sea. She blindly fled into a nearby icy structure. The pursuing Heavenly Soldiers, however, halted at the entrance, recognizing the place as the Immortal Sea's Ice Palace Hall, a forbidden resting place for Heavenly deities. Fearing severe punishment for trespassing into such a sacred area, they decided to return and report the incident.
Inside the desolate Ice Palace Hall, Lingxi stumbled upon a man covered in ice, seemingly meditating. Startled, she apologized for disturbing his peace, but noticed he wasn't breathing. Upon closer inspection, she discovered an Immortal knot clasped tightly in his hand. As she brushed away the ice from it, a wisp of spiritual energy emerged and entered the man's body. To her astonishment, the man slowly opened his eyes.
Terrified, Lingxi blurted out a series of blustering threats, claiming to be formidable and backed by ten thousand Heavenly Soldiers, warning him not to move before promising to return with her own magical weapon to fight him. She then turned and fled. The man, revealed to be Jiuchen, ignored her, focusing instead on melting the surrounding ice with his magic and summoning his Kunwu Sword from the Polar Abyss.
Meanwhile, on the Purple Cloud Platform, the God of Heavenly Thunder was enduring the eighth bolt of heavenly lightning when, to the shock of all present, the Heaven-Devouring Beast suddenly appeared. It had long been sealed near the South Gate of Heaven, and its unsealing was inexplicable. The God of Heavenly Thunder, seeing an opportunity to assert his power despite his ongoing trial, proudly declared he would handle the beast himself and pursued it.
As he fought, a swift streak of light crossed the sky—High God Yunfeng recognized it as his Senior Brother Jiuchen's Kunwu Sword. The Heaven-Devouring Beast led the chase to Dark Capital Mountain, where it encountered the fleeing Lingxi. Lingxi, still disoriented, questioned if she was dreaming upon seeing the beast again, and then realized many immortals were pursuing her. As she tried to evade falling rocks, the beast unexpectedly protected her, helping her to safety.
The pursuing God of Heavenly Thunder, witnessing this interaction, mistakenly concluded Lingxi was an accomplice of the demonic beast. Lingxi attempted to explain, but a confrontation erupted. Lingxi, no match for the Heavenly Soldiers, was quickly apprehended. As the God of Heavenly Thunder began to falter against the Heaven-Devouring Beast, Jiuchen, clad in white, appeared in a flash, effortlessly subduing the monstrous creature. All present watched in awe and reverence.
Back in the Peach Forest, Qingyao, upon returning, swiftly tied up Chengyan for failing to watch over Lingxi. She then rushed to wake a still-slumbering Le Bo, frantically informing him that Lingxi had been captured by the Heavenly Race for trespassing into the Heavenly Palace, and had even mistakenly entered the Immortal Sea. Alarmed, Le Bo and Qingyao immediately set off for the Heavenly Palace to rescue her.
In the Heavenly Palace, the Heavenly Emperor expressed his delight at Jiuchen's return after fifty thousand years of slumber, recalling how Jiuchen's spirit had been gravely wounded during the battle at Dark Capital Mountain. The God of Heavenly Thunder, still seething from his failed heavenly trial, quickly asserted that Lingxi's unknown origins and intimacy with the Heaven-Devouring Beast proved her to be a Demon Tribe spy, demanding her severe punishment.
High God Yunfeng subtly taunted the God of Heavenly Thunder about Jiuchen's easy defeat of the beast, further irritating him. The Heavenly Emperor, however, first questioned Lingxi about entering the Immortal Sea's Ice Palace Hall, a forbidden zone, which she denied. He then turned to Jiuchen, asking if he had seen her there. Jiuchen, to everyone's surprise, falsely claimed he had not.
The God of Heavenly Thunder persisted, suggesting that the Heaven-Devouring Beast's unsealing, Jiuchen's awakening, and Lingxi's trespass were all a meticulously planned conspiracy by the Demon Tribe, requesting to interrogate Lingxi himself. Just then, Le Bo, accompanied by Qingyao, burst into the hall. Hearing the suggestion of severe punishment for his daughter, he became indignant, questioning if the Heavenly Emperor intended for the Phoenix Bird Tribe to become extinct.
He passionately recounted how his tribe, once a powerful divine race of the Nine Heavens, had bravely fought the Demon Tribe during the ancient war, suffering immense casualties and subsequently declining. He expressed his disdain that the South Gate of Heaven, once accessible to them, had become an insurmountable barrier for his descendants. The Heavenly Emperor, now aware of Lingxi's identity, assured Le Bo that he would no longer punish her.
However, the God of Heavenly Thunder continued to press the issue of Lingxi's unnatural closeness with the Heaven-Devouring Beast. Le Bo, ever the eloquent one, retorted that his beautiful daughter could charm anyone, even a mythical beast with spiritual intelligence, suggesting the beast's affection was simply a natural admiration for beauty.
He then chastised the God of Heavenly Thunder for his lack of understanding and mismanagement of the South Gate of Heaven, pointedly remarking that Jiuchen, if he were still alive, would be appalled by their incompetence. Jiuchen then stepped forward, interrupting Le Bo’s rant. Le Bo, utterly dumbfounded by Jiuchen's presence, attempted to take his pulse, questioning how Jiuchen could possibly be alive after being presumed long dead.
Jiuchen explained that he had been severely wounded and had slept in the Immortal Sea for over fifty thousand years, and his spirit had not yet fully recovered. He proposed that Lingxi, having crossed paths with him, possessed a certain destiny with him and requested to keep her by his side for a period as an intelligent and medically skilled attendant.
Le Bo vehemently refused, exaggerating Lingxi's lack of medical knowledge and immortal magic, calling her a 'useless good-for-nothing' with a bad temper and even claiming she suffered from an incurable illness that made her bite people like a mad dog. Jiuchen, seeing through Le Bo’s transparent attempts to deter him, calmly questioned if there was some hidden reason for his strong objections.
Le Bo, regaining some composure, proudly stated that while the Phoenix Bird Tribe may have declined, his daughter was not to be treated as just any servant. The Heavenly Emperor, allowing Lingxi to make her own decision, asked her directly if she would be willing to serve as God of War Jiuchen's attendant and care for his health. Without hesitation, Lingxi, eager to experience the world outside the Peach Forest, eagerly agreed, much to Le Bo's dismay.
