> Listening Snow Tower Recap

Qing Yu jokingly made Chi Xiaotai beg him to enter Sand Valley before he would lead her inside. As they entered, Chi Xiaotai mentioned she carried a vital map of Sand Valley. Her father, Mister Xue Gu, had told her it was drawn behind Mister Bai's back and warned her repeatedly not to lose it. Qing Yu also stressed its importance and told her to keep it safe.

Qing Yu remarked on her lack of intelligence, stating that if such an important map fell into someone else's hands, they could easily bypass the entrance mechanisms and compromise Sand Valley's secrets. Unbeknownst to them, Ye Huo was hiding nearby and overheard their entire conversation before discreetly following them. Mister Xue Gu examined Xiao Yiqing's condition, noting that his illness was consuming his mind and body, making him incurable unless he rested.

Xiao Yiqing apologized for wasting Xue Gu's power and causing trouble for him and Nan Chu. He lamented that ten years ago, Xue Gu left Sand Valley because of him, and now, even Chi Xiaotai was being dragged into the pugilistic war due to Snow Tower.

Xiao Yiqing offered to help Xue Gu and Mister Bai escape if they wished to avoid the conflict, but Xue Gu decided it was time to confront the Moon Sect, as their previous failure to wipe them out had led to current threats. He affirmed that Sand Valley's Qimen Dunjia art was strong enough to hold the enemies. Xue Gu then expressed worry for Chi Xiaotai's safety, deeming her martial arts skills too poor for self-protection.

Chi Xiaotai, who had overheard, immediately confronted her father, accusing him of belittling her skills and demanding his support against Qing Yu, whom she claimed had caused her trouble. Qing Yu then brought Chi Xiaotai to Mister Bai and Mister Xue Gu. Chi Xiaotai wasted no time in accusing Qing Yu, stating he had abused his fake identity as the Crown Prince to constantly tease and humiliate her.

She recounted incidents where he made her test for poison, falsely accused her of stealing a tribute, and publicly made her retrieve a Sea Flower, further embarrassing her. Qing Yu admitted his fault, acknowledging that his actions had indeed tarnished her reputation. He then seriously proposed to her, offering to take care of her for the rest of his life as an apology and to take full responsibility.

Mister Xue Gu was overjoyed, as was Mister Bai, who found Qing Yu's sincerity commendable. Chi Xiaotai was initially shocked and indignant, vehemently rejecting the proposal. Seizing the opportunity, Mister Bai suggested settling their marriage that very day. Chi Xiaotai objected, but Qing Yu playfully affirmed his commitment to the "deal." Frustrated and angry, Chi Xiaotai ran off, vowing to get her revenge on Qing Yu. Later, Chi Xiaotai encountered Ye Huo.

Suspicious of the newcomer, Chi Xiaotai confronted her about being an outsider in Sand Valley. Believing Ye Huo possessed martial arts, Chi Xiaotai deliberately tripped her. Realizing Ye Huo was defenseless, Chi Xiaotai quickly apologized and helped her up. As she assisted Ye Huo, Ye Huo claimed she had been injured while escorting the Crown Prince and was brought to Sand Valley by Qing Lan for treatment from Mister Bai. Chi Xiaotai, feeling remorseful, apologized again for her rudeness.

During this interaction, Ye Huo subtly stole the Qimen Dunjia map from Chi Xiaotai. The Crown Prince announced his departure from Sand Valley the next morning. Ye Huo, claiming to be too weak to travel back to Nanjiang herself, entrusted him with a flute, a keepsake from her father, asking him to deliver it and a message of reassurance to her parents. The Crown Prince, grateful for her sacrifice in protecting him, promised to personally deliver the flute.

He also requested Qing Lan to look after Lady Ye Huo. Shortly after the Crown Prince departed, a Moon Sect spy, who had been posing as part of his entourage, rendezvoused with Gu Guang, the Left Guardian. The spy confirmed that he had successfully swapped the flute given by Ye Huo with a fake one, ensuring no one would find out.

Gu Guang praised Ye Huo's ingenuity in using the Crown Prince to transport the hidden map out of Sand Valley without exposing her identity. The spy then inquired about the next steps for the Crown Prince. Gu Guang instructed him to safely escort the Crown Prince back to King Zhen Nan Manor, emphasizing that there should be no further assassination attempts.

He explained that keeping the Crown Prince alive would ensure King Zhen Nan's side consort would remain beholden to Moon Sect, eager to eliminate him and solidify her own power, thus serving Moon Sect's agenda perfectly. Gu Guang then delivered the stolen Qimen Dunjia map to Hua Lian. Hua Lian was exceedingly pleased, noting that with this map, which detailed the traps and topography of Sand Valley, overcoming its formidable Qimen Dunjia defenses would be effortless.

She believed that with only Mister Bai, Mister Xue Gu, and a few disciples inside, a combined attack from within and without would secure an easy victory. She immediately ordered red bats to be sent into the valley as a signal. Qing Lan and Shu Jingrong were by the lake, where Qing Lan tenderly adjusted Shu Jingrong's hair, a moment that made Shu Jingrong express her happiness at being in Sand Valley with him and their master.

Observing this, a jealous Ye Huo, who was nearby, used her flute to control a group of red bats, directing them to attack Shu Jingrong. Xiao Yiqing arrived in time to fight off the bats, recognizing them as a species from Nanjiang, usually found in extremely cold places.

Ye Huo then rushed forward, claiming the bats were hers and that she had merely been trying to call them with her flute, but they had attacked Shu Jingrong and Qing Lan out of fright. She then pretended to find a note on one of the bats, revealing that Moon Sect had massacred Nanjiang Village, leaving no survivors. Feigning deep sorrow, Ye Huo stated she wished to be alone and left, with Qing Lan quickly following her.

Xiao Yiqing immediately expressed his suspicion to Shu Jingrong, stating that he heard aggressive command sounds in Ye Huo's flute playing, suggesting she had controlled the red bats. He noted that Ye Huo's story of the bats travelling from far-off Nanjiang to deliver a message was improbable, especially since his own scouts sent to Nanjiang had not returned, hinting at a disaster there.

Shu Jingrong confirmed that Moon Sect disciples had recently attempted to breach the valley's entrance but were thwarted by the Ba Gua formation, leading Xiao Yiqing to suspect Ye Huo was an inside agent who could compromise Sand Valley from within.

Meanwhile, Qing Lan tried to comfort Ye Huo, but she insisted on leaving, explaining that the red bats were a signal for Moon Sect to attack the valley and that she felt responsible for her village's plight because she had defied the Moon Sect by protecting the Crown Prince. Concerned for her safety, Qing Lan offered to accompany her on the perilous journey back to Nanjiang.

Shu Jingrong then arrived and confronted Ye Huo, questioning why she showed no fear of the red bat venom. She pressed Ye Huo on how the bats knew to find her in Sand Valley and reiterated the implausibility of a small bat traveling such a vast distance from Nanjiang. Unable to answer these pointed questions, Ye Huo dramatically fainted, prompting Shu Jingrong and Qing Lan to carry her back to her room.

Later, Nan Chu informed Xiao Yiqing that the Snow Tower scouts sent to Nanjiang had finally reported back, confirming that Nanjiang Village had indeed been completely wiped out, with no survivors. Xiao Yiqing noted that this made it impossible to verify Ye Huo's identity. Despite the life-threatening blood venom bug in her body, which seemed genuine, he felt as though this "truth" had been meticulously fabricated.

He expressed to Nan Chu that Ye Huo was proving difficult to decipher and might be a formidable opponent if her identity was a deception. Back in her room, Shu Jingrong observed that although Mister Bai's herbal soup had temporarily controlled the venom, the discoloration on Ye Huo's arm was worsening, and she might not survive the night.

As Ye Huo repeatedly called out Qing Lan's name in her feverish state, Shu Jingrong instructed Qing Lan to stay and care for her while she went to fetch Mister Bai. Xiao Yiqing visited Mister Bai at the observatory, thanking him for saving his life ten years prior. Mister Bai advised Xiao Yiqing to refrain from using his inner energy, warning him that his constant worries were exhausting him.

Xiao Yiqing presented Mister Bai with the Moon Spirit, a rare stone passed down through generations of Moon Sect's Star Readers for deducing star orbits, and the only item his mother left him before returning to the sect. Mister Bai used the Moon Spirit for stargazing, discovering an ominous sign: the Dark Star was shining intensely while two adjacent stars had fallen, portending ill fortune.

Just then, Shu Jingrong arrived, reporting that Ye Huo had a high fever and the venom bug in her body was causing her to be in a coma. Mister Bai quickly went to treat her, accompanied by Xiao Yiqing, who offered his knowledge of venom bugs. After examining Ye Huo, Mister Bai concluded she might not survive past two days.

Xiao Yiqing asserted that Ye Huo could not die yet, as he had many unresolved questions about her identity, Nanjiang, and her role in escorting the Crown Prince. Qing Lan, however, vehemently defended Ye Huo, arguing that she was a loyal protector whose village was massacred because of her actions and that she should not be questioned in her dying state. Xiao Yiqing countered, pointing to the suspicious incidents since her arrival, including the Moon Sect's attempted intrusion.

Mister Bai intervened, urging them to stop arguing and focus on saving Ye Huo. Meanwhile, Hua Lian issued her final orders to her subordinates, instructing them to proceed with their attack on Sand Valley according to plan, asserting that no one could stand in her way. When questioned about Ye Huo's fate, Hua Lian coldly stated that it was Ye Huo's honor to die for Moon Sect's revival. She stressed that sacrifices were necessary, otherwise all their efforts over the past decade would be in vain.
