After careful deliberation, Xiao Yiqing decided to exchange Qiu Huyu for Ming He to cure Chi Xiaotai's Blood Venom. Shi Mingyan was visibly dismayed by this decision. Xiao Yiqing firmly told her that Snow Tower would save anyone afflicted with the venom, and he promised to recapture Qiu Huyu in the future. As Xiao Yiqing and Shu Jingrong departed, Shi Mingyan seethed, believing that Snow Tower would one day be ruined by Xiao Yiqing's actions.
She lamented that Snow Tower had never been blackmailed in such a way, and that Ming He's use of Chi Xiaotai would erode people's obedience to Snow Tower's rules. Shu Jingrong, however, frankly told Xiao Yiqing that his actions today constituted favoritism. Xiao Yiqing reiterated to her that he would have made the same choice for anyone and asked if she believed him.
Shu Jingrong affirmed her belief in him but expressed concern that other members of the tower might not see it that way. She suspected Ming He's true goal was not merely to form an alliance, but to sow discord within Snow Tower and undermine their power from within. Shu Jingrong suggested that she would have publicly exposed Ming He's crimes and apprehended her, which would have benefited them in future confrontations with the Moon Sect.
Xiao Yiqing then confirmed her sentiment, acknowledging that she found his actions to be unfair, to which she agreed. Soon after, Zi Mo brought Qiu Huyu to the dispensary. Xiao Yiqing instructed that Qiu Huyu be presented to Ming He. As he was led away, Qiu Huyu vowed to exact revenge on Xiao Yiqing and Snow Tower. Inside, Chi Xiaotai's condition was critical, with her breathing growing weak. Doctor Mo noted that acupuncture had not been very effective.
Ming He, however, refused to act until she could verify Qiu Huyu's safety. She told Gao Mengfei that he should blame his Tower Master for the delay in treatment. Gao Mengfei, anxious for Chi Xiaotai's life, pleaded with Ming He to save her. Upon Qiu Huyu's arrival, Ming He observed Gao Mengfei, noting how much he had changed since his time in Sand Valley, and remarked on Chi Xiaotai's apparent importance to him.
Only then did she proceed to remove the Blood Venom from Chi Xiaotai. Watching this unfold, Shi Mingyan grew increasingly distraught. Jia Ruo, observing her, appeared in a forest where Shi Mingyan had retreated. Shi Mingyan questioned his identity and motives for helping her. Jia Ruo's words were cryptic, urging her to rely only on herself for her goals. Shi Mingyan explained that Xiao Yiqing had released Qiu Huyu to save Chi Xiaotai.
Jia Ruo then pointed out that even someone as powerful as Xiao Yiqing has weaknesses, and reminded Shi Mingyan that she had successfully captured Qiu Huyu because Shu Jingrong had offered her help, making the Tower Master reluctantly agree to set a trap at Yi Hong Brothel. He suggested that by understanding people's motivations, anyone and anything could be used to achieve one's objectives, reiterating Shi Mingyan's earlier prophecy that Snow Tower would be ruined by Xiao Yiqing's hands.
Elsewhere, Ming He was in pain, her body affected by the numerous Blood Venoms she had planted. Jia Ruo joined her, cautioning her about her exposed identity. Ming He dismissed his concerns, saying that only Xiao Yiqing had seen her, and even if her traces were discovered, it was not a major issue. Jia Ruo, however, stressed the importance of her identity as the Moon Sect's High Priest remaining secret to avoid damaging the sect.
Jia Ruo celebrated the success of their plan, noting how Qiu Huyu had surrendered to the Moon Sect and how internal conflicts had been sown within Snow Tower, predicting its eventual collapse. He then revealed the full extent of their calculated scheme: using Qiu Huyu to destroy Shi Mingyan's family and then manipulating Shi Mingyan to their side.
Jia Ruo questioned the darkness within their hearts, but Ming He asserted that they had no choice; ever since their mother fell into the Holy Lake, they could no longer afford kindness and had to protect themselves and the Moon Sect. Meanwhile, Chi Xiaotai finally regained consciousness, much to Gao Mengfei's relief. She apologized for causing trouble and making everyone worry.
Gao Mengfei, however, not only did not blame himself for having unilaterally changed the plan which led to losses, but instead blamed Gao Huan for failing to protect Chi Xiaotai adequately. Chi Xiaotai expressed guilt for continually troubling Snow Tower and relying on Xiao Yiqing to solve her problems. Gao Mengfei confessed his helplessness when her life was in Xiao Yiqing's hands.
Chi Xiaotai acknowledged his feelings for her, speaking of her fears of not seeing the "Sea Flower" bloom with him. In a moment of intense emotion, Gao Mengfei kissed her, but Chi Xiaotai pushed him away, firmly stating that her heart belonged to someone else and her feelings had not changed. Gao Mengfei, though aware of her feelings for another, revealed he would have drawn his sword if Xiao Yiqing had not agreed to Ming He's terms.
He then declared his intention to go to Flower Palace and make Ming He pay for what she had done. Ye Fengsha approached Shu Jingrong, expressing her desire to accompany the expedition to Flower Palace to confront Gao Huan regarding Ren Fei Yang's fate. Shu Jingrong cautioned her, explaining the complexities and dangers of attacking Flower Palace, especially given the Moon Sect's preparations.
She revealed that Gao Huan was not entirely heartless, and his actions regarding Ren Fei Yang had a deeper reason. Shu Jingrong disclosed that Gao Huan's father died because of the Ren family, leading his mother to madness and suicide, leaving Gao Huan with a mandate for revenge from his dying parents.
She argued that if Gao Huan truly wished to kill Ren Fei Yang, he could have done so easily, but instead, he gave Ren Fei Yang a chance, leaving his survival to fate. Ren Fei Yang's rescue by Qiu Huyu was an unexpected turn. Shu Jingrong tried to impress upon Ye Fengsha that in the pugilistic world, not everything turns out as one hopes.
Unlike Ye Fengsha, who had Bi Luo to rely on for help, Gao Huan could only rely on his own strength to get to where he is today. She concluded by telling Ye Fengsha that she had revealed all she knew, and further answers lay with Gao Huan himself. Ye Fengsha remained concerned that Ren Fei Yang, a passionate and righteous person, might be led astray by these misunderstandings. Shu Jingrong reiterated the dangers of going to Flower Palace.
At Flower Palace, Gu Guang reported to Ming Che, the Palace Master, that he had deployed Moon Sect disciples to guard the palace. Ming Che declared that the previous invasion by Snow Tower was a profound humiliation, and he would rather die than see it repeated. Gu Guang assured him of their readiness, mentioning that the Mistress, Ming He, was also on her way.
At Snow Tower, Nan Chu worried about Ye Fengsha's impulsive journey to the heavily fortified Flower Palace, confirming that Xiao Yiqing and Shu Jingrong had altered their plans to personally oversee the situation there due to Ming He's cunning. Meanwhile, Gao Huan received a letter from Gao Mengfei outlining an ambush strategy: "Ambush when the Eastern wind rises. Those who defy will be punished."
Gao Huan confirmed that preparations were complete, and despite a subordinate's query about waiting for Xiao Yiqing, he asserted that Gao Mengfei was leading this assault, and as his subordinates, his orders were to be obeyed. He believed this strategy had been discussed with the Tower Master and prioritized attack. Seizing the strong winds, Gao Huan ordered his men to light the sky lanterns.
Inside Flower Palace, Ming Che observed the lanterns, initially unsure of Snow Tower's new tactic, having prepared for previous zip-line attacks. He ordered his guards to shoot them down. Gu Guang volunteered to lead the effort, but soon, guards discovered poison powder, specifically Lady Xue's Bone Weakening Powder, in the lanterns, injuring many Moon Sect disciples. Ming Che cursed Snow Tower's cunning strategy. Gao Huan, pleased, planned a second, poison-free lantern release in three days.
He reasoned that fear would immobilize the Flower Palace defenders, forcing them to hide indoors. This would allow Snow Tower to conserve energy, rendezvous with reinforcements, and launch a decisive attack to take the palace. Near Flower Palace, Qiu Huyu spoke with Ren Fei Yang, who remarked on Ming He's ruthlessness, even more vicious than Hua Lian.
Ren Fei Yang questioned why Qiu Huyu appeared to be suffering since his escape from Snow Tower and whether something had happened during his exchange with Ming He. Qiu Huyu dismissed the notion of Ming He personally saving him, saying her schemes were as insidious as Xiao Yiqing's.
Qiu Huyu then drew a comparison: one (Xiao Yiqing) setting an intricate trap endangering one's family, and the other (Ming He) ordering the slaughter of an entire family, prompting Ren Fei Yang to consider who was more hateful. Ren Fei Yang questioned if both Snow Tower and Moon Sect were responsible for Qiu Huyu's family's misfortunes. Qiu Huyu cautioned him that in this world, there are no trades that come without benefits.
Ren Fei Yang, disillusioned, reflected on his past aspirations for the pugilistic world, now realizing it was merely a "never-ending slaughter." He concluded that once entangled in its complexities, escape was impossible, and declared that if it were up to him, he would bring down both factions. Ming He secretly visited Ming Che in Flower Palace, assuring him that she had made all necessary preparations and urged him not to fear Snow Tower.
However, Ming Che believed Snow Tower's power was overwhelming, and their poisoned lanterns had already instilled fear among the palace's defenders, creating an atmosphere of defeat before the battle even began. Ming Che presented Ming He with two small wooden dolls he had carved with Hua Lian, expressing his longing for her during their long separation and hoping to deepen their father-daughter bond. He proposed they each keep one, ensuring they would never be truly separated.
He also revealed a secret tunnel leading out of Flower Palace to his defensive line, ordering Ming He to guard it and evacuate with her men if the situation turned dire. Ming He initially refused to leave, emphasizing her role as Mistress and her commitment to her father and the disciples. Ming Che, despite his satisfaction with her resolve, sternly reiterated his order, which she could not refuse. Back at Snow Tower, Bi Luo sought out Xiao Yiqing.
He explained that he had initially tried to sneak into Flower Palace alone to pay respects at Xiao Yin's grave but found the palace's defenses impenetrable. He therefore needed Snow Tower's help to enter. Xiao Yiqing reassured him, saying he could accompany them. He explained that Gao Mengfei was already near Flower Palace, and Snow Tower would provide support. Once inside, Bi Luo would be free to search for Xiao Yin's grave. Bi Luo thanked him.
Later, Hong Chen, who harbored some affection for Bi Luo, noticed his lingering sorrow for Xiao Yin. She advised him that the deceased have passed, and continued mourning would only lead to more suffering. She then asked Bi Luo to teach her the zither, specifically the Purple Bamboo Tune, her mother's favorite song, after the Flower Palace conflict was resolved. Bi Luo readily agreed to her request.
