Gao Mengfei acknowledged her ambition, remarking that a single word from the Tower Master likely meant more to Chi Xiaotai than anything else.

Chi Xiaotai affirmed that if one desires respect and importance, one must first be outstanding. Gao Mengfei, to make Chi Xiaotai's gaze focus only on him, vowed to seize the highest position at Snow Tower step by step, challenging her not to look away once he achieved his goal. Later, Gao Huan reported to Xiao Yiqing regarding the Nangong family matter, confirming that Xiao Yiqing's secret scheme had successfully thwarted Nangong Wugou's plans—a significant achievement.

Gao Huan reminded Xiao Yiqing of his promise to fulfill a wish for any major contribution to Snow Tower. Xiao Yiqing assured him that Zi Mo would make arrangements once there were updates, emphasizing that Snow Tower would do its best to help him, not as an exchange for his service. After Gao Huan left, Xiao Yiqing, weakened and coughing blood, stumbled into his study.

Sensing someone behind him, he turned to find Shu Jingrong, who swiftly plunged a short sword into his chest. Xiao Yiqing collapsed, surprised by her actions, as she repeatedly apologized while holding him. This sudden attack, however, was part of a pre-arranged plan between Shu Jingrong and Qingming.

Given Xiao Yiqing's extremely weak pulse and the rough journey to the Millennium Ice Lake where he was to be treated, Qingming and Doctor Mo devised a risky strategy: a precise stab into the outer wall of his heart would create a state of false death, blocking his heart vessel and allowing him to survive the transport.

This surprise attack, Qingming had explained, was necessary for his aorta to expand, though the success rate was only fifty percent, making it a gamble for Xiao Yiqing's life. Nan Chu soon informed a shocked Chi Xiaotai and Gao Mengfei that Tower Master Xiao had been severely injured in an assassination attempt and was now in a coma. Lady Jing, Nan Chu explained, had taken him to a safe place for recuperation, and his exact condition was still unknown.

Chi Xiaotai was distraught, but Nan Chu reassured her that Shu Jingrong would not have taken such a risk unless she was confident of saving him. Chi Xiaotai questioned who could have attacked the Tower Master unnoticed. Nan Chu revealed that Lady Jing had hinted at the Storm League, a mysterious new force in the martial arts world led by Qiu Huyun.

Although Chi Xiaotai wondered why they would target Xiao Yiqing, Nan Chu stressed the importance of keeping Xiao Yiqing's injury a secret. Xiao Yiqing tenderly embraced her, realizing that only Shu Jingrong in the world would go to such lengths for him. Meanwhile, Jia Ruo, having practiced the Xuan Yin Heart Sutra, found himself increasingly afflicted by the Holy Lake's poison.

He worried that without the Azure Azalea, his practice would only worsen his condition, making recovery difficult if the poison had reached his heart. Elsewhere, Ming He received news of Nangong Wugou's death. Enraged, she confronted Gu Guang, accusing him and Qinghui of intentionally embarrassing her. Back at Snow Tower, Zi Mo observed that Nan Chu had strategically spread rumors about the Storm League's attack to legitimize an open investigation. Nan Chu confirmed this, explaining that the Storm League's recent mercenary activities had earned widespread criticism in the martial arts world. He planned to leverage this opportunity to uncover the organization's true mastermind and, if they proved detrimental, eliminate them.

Zi Mo praised the plan, to which Nan Chu credited Lady Jing for the idea, noting how she was increasingly handling matters like Xiao Yiqing. Meanwhile, Xiao Yiqing, his body wracked with a cold virus that rendered all medicines useless, descended into the frigid Millennium Ice Lake. Qingming explained to Shu Jingrong that this extreme cold was the only way to combat the internal cold, believing that once the external cold drained, warmth would naturally return. It was a harrowing, self-healing process. Shu Jingrong was tasked with guarding him, ready to transfer inner energy if he faltered, though her own energy reserves were low.

Xiao Yiqing instructed her not to waste any more of her inner energy on him. Qinghui claimed their Mistress heard Bi Luo's beloved, Lady Xiao Yin, was killed by Snow Tower, suggesting they shared a common enemy and should unite for revenge. Bi Luo steadfastly refused to serve anyone in the pugilistic world and told them to give up. Qinghui, warning him of their Mistress's impatience, threatened to use force if he continued to disobey. Bi Luo warned them back, declaring he would be ruthless if they persisted, and a fight ensued.

Unbeknownst to them, Qiu Huyun, the leader of the Storm League, was personally overseeing the pursuit of Shi Mingyan. His subordinate questioned why he was so involved with a mere new girl in the martial arts world. Qiu Huyun revealed his true motive: he had learned that Ye Fengsha was Bi Luo's junior, and Snow Tower was keen on recruiting Bi Luo, the best swordsman in Jiangnan.

By killing Ye Fengsha, they could frame Snow Tower, thereby damaging its reputation and creating chaos. He ordered his men to closely monitor Snow Tower members and report any movements immediately. Shi Mingyan, leading Gao Huan and Ren Feiyang to her "aunt's" supposed residence, found it empty. Feigning distress, she wondered if her aunt was in danger, prompting Gao Huan to suggest they search for her.
