> Listening Snow Tower Recap

Xiao Yiqing receives news that Xue Wen is still alive, bringing him some relief. Nan Chu reports that Gu Guang sent word that Qing Hui was dispatched on a highly secretive mission by Ming He, taking numerous Moon Sect followers with him. Xiao Yiqing warns Nan Chu to be cautious of the Moon Sect, as Ming He's ambitions are comparable to Hua Lian's, indicating impending unrest. He instructs the disciples in Lan Xue Hall to thoroughly investigate.

Nan Chu also informs Xiao Yiqing of Gao Huan's meritorious service during the attack on the Flower Palace, noting that Gao Huan navigated them there and bravely pulled Shu Jingrong out of the Exotic Flower Formation before she was poisoned. In recognition of his valor, Xiao Yiqing promotes Gao Huan to head of Chuihua House, entrusting him with all future trainings. Xiao Yiqing then confides in Nan Chu about his deteriorating health.

He reveals that the Millennium Ice in the Flower Palace has triggered his Jue Yin disease, causing the half-life energy his Master (Xue Gu) transferred to him years ago to vanish. Fearing he might not survive this ordeal, Xiao Yiqing asks Nan Chu to convey a message to Shu Jingrong: the person who severely injured him at the Long family while snatching the Azure Azalea was Jia Ruo of the Moon Sect.

Nan Chu is astonished, having never heard of such a skilled fighter in the martial world. Xiao Yiqing clarifies that Jia Ruo is none other than Qing Lan, Bai Di's eldest disciple, leaving Nan Chu bewildered as to why he would conspire with the enemy. Xiao Yiqing explains that Gu Guang reported Qing Lan was gravely injured during the battle at Sand Valley and fell into a coma.

Ming He then pleaded for his life, and since that day, Qing Lan has forgotten his past. Xiao Yiqing confirms he saw Qing Lan's face during their fight. He had intended to bring him back to Snow Tower and reveal to Shu Jingrong that her elder brother was alive, but he worried that Jia Ruo might not trust them and could even perceive Shu Jingrong as an enemy.

Nan Chu then asks if Xiao Yiqing would kill Qing Lan in such a scenario, to which Xiao Yiqing solemnly replies that "Life and death is not ours to choose." Nan Chu promises to relay the message to Lady Jing if the dire need arises. Zi Mo diligently cares for Yin Liuzhu until she regains consciousness. Yin Liuzhu is disoriented, asking where she is, and Zi Mo reassures her that she is safe within the Snow Tower.

Soon after, Xiao Yiqing visits, introducing himself and explaining that his father and hers were close friends, and the Yin family had once forged 36 swords for Snow Tower. He expresses his profound sorrow over the tragedy that has befallen the Yin family, telling Yin Liuzhu to rest peacefully and recover. Zi Mo reports to Xiao Yiqing that Yin Liuzhu's physical injuries are minor and will heal quickly, but her emotional trauma is severe, something only she can overcome.

Meanwhile, Gao Mengfei, kneeling in self-reproach for not arriving in time to save the Yin family, reports his findings to Xiao Yiqing. Xiao Yiqing dismisses his self-blame, acknowledging Gao Mengfei's efforts. Gao Mengfei relays that the Yin residence's assets were left intact, indicating that monetary gain was not the motive. He emphasizes the most suspicious detail: the assailants did not deliver a fatal blow to Yin Liuzhu but instead tried to abduct her.

He expresses bewilderment as to why such a tragedy would strike the Longquan Yin family, renowned as the world's finest swordsmiths with extensive connections in the martial world and recent protection from the Snow Tower. Xiao Yiqing then questions Gao Mengfei about the legendary Guo Se Sword.

Gao Mengfei, however, considers it merely a myth—a rumor circulated by the Yin family to enhance their reputation, despite the legend claiming it to be an invincible sword recorded in the Heavenly Arsenal Manual, capable of surpassing even the Shadow Sun Dagger and Blood Rose Sword. Xiao Yiqing refutes this, stating that the Guo Se Sword genuinely exists.

He recalls his own father's attempt to commission the Yin family to forge it for Snow Tower, an offer they declined, instead gifting 36 other swords. Xiao Yiqing now believes the recent tragedy is deeply intertwined with this famed sword, concluding that the assailants were indeed targeting the Guo Se Sword. Gao Mengfei expresses doubt, questioning how the sword could be forged with only an orphan girl remaining.

Recognizing the ambiguity of the situation, Xiao Yiqing orders Gao Mengfei to ensure Yin Liuzhu's safety. Later, as Yin Liuzhu performs a ritual, burning offerings for her deceased family, Xiao Yiqing approaches her. He gently advises her that the dead cannot be revived, and her energy should be channeled into seeking vengeance. He reassures her that Snow Tower will not stand by idly and will do its utmost to find her family's murderers.

Yin Liuzhu, acknowledging the Guo Se Sword, reveals that her father had entrusted her with its forging method. She proposes a deal: if Snow Tower helps her identify the culprits and avenge her family, she will forge the Guo Se Sword for them as repayment for their kindness. Xiao Yiqing readily accepts her offer. A disciple announces the arrival of Nangong Wugou, causing Yin Liuzhu a flicker of nervousness.

Xiao Yiqing explains that the Nangong family is also a swordsmith clan, though their skills were historically not comparable to the Yin family's. However, under Nangong Wugou's leadership, they have recently recruited many talents, rising to prominence in the martial community. He mentions past disputes between the families over sword forging. A flashback reveals Nangong Wugou's heartfelt confession of love to Yin Liuzhu, promising to marry her despite their families' feud and waiting for her at the Rain Pavilion.

Yin Liuzhu confides in Xiao Yiqing that she and Nangong Wugou secretly pledged their love, but the family rivalry prevented their union. Now, as an orphan, she feels unworthy of the Nangong family. Xiao Yiqing compassionately offers to arrange wedding gifts and send her to the Nangong family if she desires marriage, but Yin Liuzhu declines, asserting her sole focus is avenging her family and appeasing her parents' souls. Xiao Yiqing then takes Yin Liuzhu to meet Nangong Wugou.

Nangong Wugou expresses his relief at her safety and remorse for his delayed arrival. He promises to find the culprit and immediately offers to take her back to the Nangong Residence for recovery. However, Xiao Yiqing interjects, arguing that with the culprits still at large, it would be inappropriate and dangerous for her to travel, suggesting she remain at Snow Tower where her safety can be guaranteed.

Nangong Wugou challenges Xiao Yiqing, questioning if he doubts his ability to protect Yin Liuzhu. Xiao Yiqing clarifies that while he trusts the Nangong family's strength, the journey itself poses significant risks. Yin Liuzhu intervenes, thanking Xiao Yiqing and agreeing to stay, much to Nangong Wugou's veiled displeasure. Later, in a private conversation, Nangong Wugou expresses concern for Yin Liuzhu's well-being.

Yin Liuzhu explains her agreement to forge the Guo Se Sword for Snow Tower in exchange for their help in finding her family's killers, believing staying there will expedite uncovering the truth. Nangong Wugou advises her not to trust anyone, especially those who promise vengeance, emphasizing that all martial forces desire her swordsmith skills. Yin Liuzhu assures him that Xiao Yiqing will protect her and that her public presence at Snow Tower ensures her safety.

She then reveals that the Yin family's prized Heavenly Arsenal Manual, essential for forging the Guo Se Sword, is still hidden in a secret chamber at the Yin Residence, and she asks Nangong Wugou to retrieve it for her. With a cunning glint in his eye, Nangong Wugou readily agrees, promising to deploy all his resources and not betray her trust. Xiao Yiqing discusses Yin Liuzhu's proposition with Shu Jingrong, asking for her thoughts on the Guo Se Sword deal.

Shu Jingrong expresses suspicion, viewing Yin Liuzhu's offer of the sword as a test. She elaborates on the legend of the Guo Se Sword as the world's most formidable weapon, surpassing even the Shadow Sun Dagger and Blood Rose Sword. Shu Jingrong warns that even the rumors of its existence have incited chaos, and its actual emergence will undoubtedly lead to widespread bloodshed as various sects fight for it.

She concludes that while it is a significant offering, it also promises to bring immense turmoil to Snow Tower. Furthermore, Shu Jingrong finds it puzzling that if the culprits' primary goal was the Guo Se Sword, they would massacre the entire Yin family yet deliberately leave Yin Liuzhu alive, questioning how they could be so certain she held the key to obtaining it. Xiao Yiqing agrees that the Yin family massacre is a grave matter that cannot be taken lightly.

Shifting topics, Xiao Yiqing asks Shu Jingrong if she can forgive Chi Xiaotai. Shu Jingrong responds with a heavy heart that if Chi Xiaotai is safe, her forgiveness is irrelevant. Xiao Yiqing attempts to console her, acknowledging Chi Xiaotai's error led to Sand Valley's destruction, but stresses that even without the lost map, the Moon Sect would have launched a full-scale assault.

He expresses his hope that Shu Jingrong can let go of her hatred and join him in protecting Snow Tower. Tears welling in her eyes, Shu Jingrong indicates she understands his sentiment but implores him and everyone else never to speak of that painful event again. Qing Hui reports back to Ming He, who furiously chastises him for his failure to capture Yin Liuzhu. Qing Hui defends himself, explaining that Snow Tower was well-prepared, thwarting his attempts.

Ming He, frustrated, laments that despite her meticulous planning, Xiao Yiqing still managed to intervene. Qing Hui suggests another attempt, noting the Guo Se Sword has not yet been forged. Ming He, determined to prevent Snow Tower from acquiring the sword, orders Qing Hui to relay a message to Nangong Wugou: he is to bring Yin Liuzhu back.

She issues a stern warning, stating that if Nangong Wugou, now allied with the Moon Sect, allows his personal interests to jeopardize her plans, the entire Nangong family will face the Moon Sect's wrath. Elsewhere, Jia Ruo is seen deeply engrossed in his practice of the Xuan Yin Heart Sutra in the Holy Lake. Ming He, expressing her constant anxiety whenever he practices, approaches him despite his previous warning not to disturb him during his training.

Jia Ruo reassures her that he is protected by the sutra but reiterates his demand that she not interrupt his "final stage of cultivation." Ming He promises to comply. Later, Ming He and Jia Ruo discover that the Moon Spirit has been stolen. Ming He is visibly distraught, but Jia Ruo deduces that the thief must be an insider planted by Snow Tower.

He hypothesizes that Xiao Yiqing, weakened by his Jue Yin disease after the Flower Palace incident and now preoccupied with the Yin family massacre, is desperate for the Moon Spirit to alleviate his internal coldness. Jia Ruo devises a plan to allow the thief to exit the mountain, then apprehend them at the gates. Unbeknownst to them, Gu Guang, disguised as the Left Guardian, is attempting to leave Lingjiu Mountain with the stolen Moon Spirit.

When guards inform him of Ming He's new orders to search all departing individuals, Gu Guang realizes their trap. To avoid being searched and exposed, he cleverly feigns a sudden onset of blood venom poisoning, demanding to be taken back to Moon Palace, buying himself time to find an alternative escape route. Xiao Yiqing visits Chi Xiaotai, who complains about his absence and lack of concern for her injury.

She wants to go out, but Xiao Yiqing tells her that merely escaping death doesn't absolve her. He reminds her that her mistake caused significant destruction, and her 100-day confinement is a mild punishment for her to repent. Chi Xiaotai argues that she has already taken responsibility and paid the price with her life, believing Shu Jingrong's act of sparing her means the matter should be settled. She insists on her innocence.

Xiao Yiqing sternly tells her she has grown up and should know how to handle things, but despite Shu Jingrong's forgiveness, he has not forgiven her, and the 100-day grounding stands without compromise. As Xiao Yiqing leaves, Chi Xiaotai dramatically cries out that her wound hurts. Shortly after, Gao Mengfei arrives with flowers and, defying Xiao Yiqing's orders, helps Chi Xiaotai sneak out of her confinement. Overjoyed, Chi Xiaotai eagerly accompanies him.

Gao Mengfei asks if she holds a grudge against Shu Jingrong, to which Chi Xiaotai replies that her self-inflicted wound was her repayment, and Shu Jingrong can no longer hurt her. Gao Mengfei criticizes Shu Jingrong's impulsiveness, asserting that Chi Xiaotai was merely careless. He praises her resilience but wonders why she recklessly lunged at Shu Jingrong's sword.

Chi Xiaotai admits the Sand Valley incident was her fault, but Gao Mengfei counters that the Moon Sect was well-prepared and would have infiltrated the valley regardless, making her map loss irrelevant. He applauds her forbearance and promises to look after her within Snow Tower. He then takes her out for mutton soup, where he observes her transformation.

He muses that she has changed, and while he wishes she could remain her innocent self, Chi Xiaotai reflects on how life's hardships have made her realize the dangers of the pugilistic world and the need to find her own strength. Back at Snow Tower, Zi Mo reports to Xiao Yiqing that rumors are circulating: some speculate that Snow Tower saved Yin Liuzhu with ulterior motives—to seize the Guo Se Sword—which could tarnish their reputation.

Xiao Yiqing dismisses these concerns, confident that their efforts to solve the case will eventually reveal the truth. Zi Mo also relays news from Lan Xue Hall: the true culprits behind the massacre are now actively pursuing Nangong Wugou, who appeared at the Yin Residence for unknown reasons and seems to be in peril.

Yin Liuzhu, overhearing this, rushes in, revealing that she asked Nangong Wugou to retrieve the Yin family's invaluable Heavenly Arsenal Manual, which holds the key to forging the Guo Se Sword. She frantically pleads with Xiao Yiqing to save him, emphasizing the manual's importance. Xiao Yiqing calms her and immediately dispatches Zi Mo and Huang Quan to assist Nangong Wugou. Xue Qingming approaches Shu Jingrong, introducing herself as a healer dispatched to treat her.

She warns Shu Jingrong that a dormant poison within her will intensify if not addressed, eventually becoming incurable. Shu Jingrong dismisses her concerns, stating that Doctor Mo found no signs of poison and attributing such claims to Ming Che's desperate attempts to escape. Xue Qingming, however, insists that the poison, though not yet active, is present and that she has been sent by "someone" to fulfill this task.

Shu Jingrong reiterates her refusal, arguing that if she were poisoned, it would be incurable, and Xue Qingming's efforts would be better spent on others. She pointedly adds that these "unnecessary things" are not the Tower Master's concern. Xue Qingming observes that Shu Jingrong has correctly inferred Xiao Yiqing's involvement without him being named. She reveals that Xiao Yiqing deliberately asked her to secretly remove the poison, anticipating Shu Jingrong's refusal of his direct help.

Xue Qingming remarks that, ironically, Shu Jingrong seems to understand Xiao Yiqing best within Snow Tower. Shu Jingrong, uncomfortable, warns Xue Qingming to mind her words and firmly states she cannot accept Xiao Yiqing's gesture. Finding herself in a difficult position as a messenger, Xue Qingming suggests that Shu Jingrong and Xiao Yiqing should resolve their personal issues themselves, affirming her sole purpose is to act as a healer and research the poison.
