Chi Xiaotai, disheartened after witnessing Xiao Yiqing embrace Shu Jingrong, retreated to her room. There, Bi Luo confronted her, declaring that while a life for a life was the rule in the pugilistic world, he intended to deviate from it. Chi Xiaotai tried to explain that Xiao Yin's death had been an unintentional mistake, but Bi Luo remained unyielding, demanding atonement.

He presented three cups: one containing ordinary wine, another arsenic, and the third, a potent brew called "Lovesick Tears," made from Xiao Yin's sorrow. He ordered Chi Xiaotai to choose one to appease Xiao Yin's spirit, ignoring her warnings about Snow Tower's presence and threatening her with his Yu Chang Sword if she refused. Xiao Yiqing and Shu Jingrong arrived during the standoff.

Xiao Yiqing immediately offered to drink one of the cups on Chi Xiaotai's behalf, promising that Snow Tower would provide a proper explanation. Chi Xiaotai insisted on bearing her own consequences, but Xiao Yiqing was firm. Shu Jingrong, concerned for Xiao Yiqing's health, also offered to drink, but he gently refused, instructing everyone from Snow Tower, including Chi Xiaotai, not to trouble Bi Luo, asserting that this was his responsibility.

Despite Shu Jingrong's desperate pleas, Xiao Yiqing calmly selected a cup and drank its contents. Bi Luo, surprised, noted that it was merely wine before departing. Shu Jingrong tried to stop Bi Luo, but Xiao Yiqing intervened, then checked on Chi Xiaotai before they all left. Back in their quarters, Shu Jingrong expressed her relief that Xiao Yiqing had not ingested poison, but chastised him for risking his health, arguing that Chi Xiaotai should bear her own faults.

Xiao Yiqing countered that he had vowed to protect Chi Xiaotai as his Master's dying wish, a promise he could not break. When Shu Jingrong pressed him on what would happen if Chi Xiaotai continued to err, Xiao Yiqing reiterated his commitment to bearing all future consequences himself. Meanwhile, in Moon Sect, a captured Snow Tower scout defiantly refused to beg for mercy.

Jiaruo, rejecting a subordinate's suggestion to interrogate the scout, declared that Moon Sect would no longer tolerate such intrusions. He ordered the scout to be submerged in the Holy Lake within an iron net, and his bones returned to Snow Tower after the body had decomposed. Ming He added that she also had something to send back to Snow Tower. Upon their return to Snow Tower, Xiao Yiqing and Shu Jingrong received the grim package.

Zi Mo presented a chest from Moon Sect, which Xiao Yiqing ordered opened. Inside, they found human bones and a letter from Ming He addressed to Xiao Yiqing. Xiao Yiqing identified the remains as those of a Snow Tower scout and instructed Doctor Mo to confirm and arrange a proper burial.

Reading the accompanying mechanism map, Shu Jingrong was enraged, realizing that Chi Xiaotai's loss of this very map had led to Moon Sect's successful breach of Sand Valley and the deaths of her Master and Elder Brother. Xiao Yiqing attempted to calm her, suggesting it might be a Moon Sect ploy to create discord and promising a thorough investigation. However, recalling Xiao Yiqing's earlier vow to bear all of Chi Xiaotai's mistakes, Shu Jingrong stormed off in a fury.

Chi Xiaotai was found tearfully mourning her father, Xue Gu, in the ancestral hall, lamenting that she no longer had anyone to shield her from the consequences of her actions. Nan Chu attempted to console her, reminding her that both he and Xiao Yiqing would always see her as their little sister. Just then, Shu Jingrong arrived, demanding to know if Chi Xiaotai had lost the secret map to Sand Valley.

Chi Xiaotai initially feigned ignorance, then weakly protested that the incident had happened years ago. Enraged, Shu Jingrong accused Chi Xiaotai of destroying Sand Valley and causing the deaths of her Master and Elder Brother. Xiao Yiqing stepped in front of Chi Xiaotai, offering to bear her mistakes. Shu Jingrong retorted that he could not shoulder the lives of her school, criticizing his protection of Chi Xiaotai. Xiao Yiqing insisted he would protect any member of Snow Tower.

He ordered Nan Chu to take Chi Xiaotai away, but Chi Xiaotai stepped forward, declaring she would resolve the matter herself. She admitted to unintentionally dropping the map and offered her life, dramatically seizing Shu Jingrong's Blood Sword and stabbing herself in the chest. Shu Jingrong, shocked, immediately pulled the sword back.

At that moment, Gao Mengfei rushed in, sternly rebuking Shu Jingrong and reminding her that Moon Sect was the true enemy responsible for their Master and Elder Brother's deaths. Chi Xiaotai collapsed, and Gao Mengfei quickly carried her away, assuring her that Doctor Mo would provide treatment. Doctor Mo later confirmed Chi Xiaotai was out of danger, noting the wound was not fatal, but highlighted its proximity to vital organs, questioning Shu Jingrong's impulsive actions.

In Moon Sect, Ming He voiced her ambition to establish Moon Sect's dominance in the martial world and strengthen her position as Mistress, identifying Xiao Yiqing as a formidable obstacle. Jiaruo then presented her with a new "Flower Thorn Formation" he had devised, a combination of flower thorns and the Eight Trigrams of Five Elements, elements that had been inexplicably appearing in his mind, suggesting forgotten knowledge. He believed this formation would make their forces invincible.

Ming He later revealed to Jiaruo that she was using her inner energy to force the Azure Azalea seed to bloom, hoping it would aid his breakthrough in the Xuan Yin Heart Sutra. Jiaruo chided her, warning that such a risky act could lead to poisoning and recalling how her previous use of Blood Venom for his counteraction had affected her. Ming He, however, insisted she would do anything for him, prioritizing his safety over her own well-being or promises.

Deeply moved, Jiaruo embraced her, vowing to protect Moon Sect and her, and promising to never let her endanger herself for him again. Back at Snow Tower, Nan Chu informed Xiao Yiqing that the Longquan Yin family, long-standing suppliers of weapons to Snow Tower, appeared to be in distress, as their letters had gone unanswered. Concerned by their close ties, Xiao Yiqing immediately dispatched Gao Mengfei and his men to investigate and ensure the Yin family's safety.

Nan Chu then suggested Xiao Yiqing visit the injured Chi Xiaotai, acknowledging Shu Jingrong's mercy in withdrawing her sword. Xiao Yiqing reiterated his promise to his Master to protect Chi Xiaotai's life, regardless of her actions, but clarified their relationship as strictly senior and junior. He acknowledged the severe consequences of Chi Xiaotai's unintentional loss of the Sand Valley map for Master Bai and his school, and accepted the responsibility as her senior brother.

He emphasized, however, that he also held a responsibility to Shu Jingrong as a member of Snow Tower, striving for impartiality in his actions. Shu Jingrong stood alone by the river, lost in sorrow. Xiao Yiqing approached her, first inquiring about her Supreme Flower poison, which Ming Che confirmed had not progressed. Shu Jingrong asked if he was there for Chi Xiaotai, stating she understood his position.

Xiao Yiqing thanked her for her mercy towards Chi Xiaotai, noting how close Chi Xiaotai had come to death. He then spoke of his lifelong Jue Yin disease and how Master Bai and his own Master had saved his life a decade ago. He explained that while he did not wish to impede her quest for revenge, he felt compelled to atone for Chi Xiaotai's grave, albeit unintentional, mistake regarding the Sand Valley map.

Shu Jingrong, however, declared that no amount of atonement could bring back her Master and Elder Brother or compensate for the destruction of her second home. As tears streamed down her face, Xiao Yiqing embraced her, urging her to move past the trauma for the sake of her future. Shu Jingrong, in her despair, lamented that her fate was inescapable and wished that everyone close to her, including Xiao Yiqing, would stay away.

Xiao Yiqing refused to leave her side, vowing to roam the pugilistic world with her and to destroy Moon Sect and avenge their loved ones before his own impending death, hinting at his limited time. As he spoke, he was overcome by a sudden, intense pain, revealing that the cup he had chosen earlier was not wine, but the "Lovesick Tears," which now exposed the depth of his long-suppressed emotions for Shu Jingrong.

Meanwhile, Gao Mengfei and his men rode through the night, rushing to the Yin family residence. Upon arrival, Gao Mengfei discovered the estate in ruins and numerous bodies, realizing he was too late to prevent the attack. He intervened in a struggle, rescuing a young woman. Introducing himself as Gao Mengfei from Snow Tower, he learned that the woman was Yin Liuzhu, a daughter of the Longquan Yin family.
