> Listening Snow Tower Recap

Shu Jingrong, clad in black, mourned her master and senior brother, performing a spirit-summoning ceremony for seven days in the ruins of Sand Valley. On the final day, Xiao Yiqing arrived and urged her not to succumb to despair, stating that such sorrow would render the sacrifices of Mister Bai and Qing Lan meaningless. He explained that a spirit-summoning ceremony was primarily for the comfort of the living.

Shu Jingrong admitted her master and eldest brother died because of her, wishing she could have sacrificed herself instead, but she desperately wanted to know if their spirits had returned to the valley. Meanwhile, Chi Xiaotai found Qing Yu amidst the ruins and brought him wine. She assured him that her father, a close friend of Mister Bai, would support him in any future endeavors.

Qing Yu reflected on his master's unwavering kindness and his eldest brother Qing Lan's constant protection. He lamented that he could no longer seek his master's guidance, acknowledging that despite their love and protection, he had failed to protect Sand Valley in return. He realized how much love he had received, acknowledging that he had always felt unfairly treated, despite Qing Lan joining the institution only days before him.

He now understood that Qing Lan had tolerated and protected him out of brotherly affection. Xiao Yiqing had arranged for equinox flowers to be placed throughout Sand Valley. These flowers, also known as underworld flowers, were rumored to conjure memories of the dead and guide souls. He explained that while he didn't believe in evocation, if such rituals could comfort the living, they were worth performing. He also expressed hope that the flowers would symbolize rebirth for the survivors.

Shu Jingrong knelt, tears streaming down her face, pleading for her master and senior brother's spirits to return. Qing Yu and Chi Xiaotai watched the swaying flowers, filled with sorrow. Shu Jingrong cried out, hoping her master and Qing Lan would return, bringing eternal peace to Sand Valley. Overwhelmed with grief and injuries, Shu Jingrong began to practice her sword techniques day and night. However, her body was weak, and she eventually collapsed.

Xiao Yiqing admonished her, asking how she could master the Blood Rose Swordplay or avenge them if she couldn't even protect herself. He stressed that to truly master the Blood Rose Swordplay, she must first recuperate and regain her strength. He explained that while the Blood Rose Sword might offset her weakness, it was her father who invented the swordplay, and she would have to find it from within to truly master it.

He reminded her that martial arts required individual dedication and that even the finest sword was useless without a healthy body. With Snow Tower in crisis and the martial world in turmoil, Xiao Yiqing resolved to quickly restore the sect's strength. He tasked Mister Zhong with rebuilding Chuihua House, recognizing the challenge of finding suitable new recruits after the recent losses. Mister Zhong expressed concern, noting that many were now hesitant to join Snow Tower.

Xiao Yiqing, however, remained resolute, emphasizing that Snow Tower would not tolerate incompetence and would soon regain its former glory, attracting warriors from all over. Xie Bingyu, having joined Snow Tower, changed her name to Jiang Qianmei, taking on her mother's surname. She declared that "Bing Yu is dead" and she would now be known as Jiang Qianmei. She began assisting Zi Mo with tower affairs.

An investigation initiated by Zi Mo and her team after the Sand Valley battle yielded some clues. Subsequently, Nan Chu arrived, presenting Xiao Yiqing with a packet of high-quality niter gunpowder debris, confirming it was the same type used by Moon Sect. Doctor Mo, attending to Xiao Yiqing, advised him against frequent outings as the Phoenix Tail Flower could only suppress, not fully heal, his Jue Yin cold virus. Though his chest wound was healing, the cold virus persisted.

Nan Chu reported that this superior gunpowder was not available on the open market, suggesting it was acquired through special channels. Xiao Yiqing instructed Nan Chu to investigate the gunpowder supplier, from Luoyang all the way to Nanjiang, and to monitor Moon Sect's upcoming Pilgrimage Day. He assured Nan Chu that despite his mother still being trapped in Moon Sect, he would not act rashly, prioritizing the restoration of Snow Tower.

Meanwhile, Ming He visited Xue Wen in her prison cell, seeking the Xuan Yin Heart Sutra, believing it could expel poison and heal wounds. Xue Wen refused to disclose its location, instead revealing a prophecy from her star reading using the Moon Spirit: "When the moon flowers bloom, the lotus will rot in the lake," meaning Hua Lian's life would end in three years.

Xue Wen stated she deliberately withheld this information from Hua Lian, who had committed many sins and was unaware of her impending doom. Bing Ling, Moon Sect's astrologer, secretly overheard this conversation. At the Moon Sect's Pilgrimage Day ceremony, Bing Ling presented Hua Lian with Xue Wen's ominous prophecy. Despite her shock, Hua Lian maintained her imposing demeanor. She was about to announce the death of her Left Guardian, Gu Guang, when he dramatically appeared.

Gu Guang prostrated himself, attributing his survival to the Moon God's blessings. Shu Jingrong and Qing Yu sought to join Snow Tower. Qing Yu, expressing gratitude for Snow Tower's investigation into the Sand Valley incident, offered his service. Xiao Yiqing accepted Qing Yu but rejected Shu Jingrong, stating that Snow Tower only welcomed the strong, and her current abilities were insufficient.

Qing Yu protested, reminding Xiao Yiqing that he had once invited Shu Jingrong to join, but Xiao Yiqing insisted conditions had changed. Qing Yu then announced they would not insist on staying and would leave. Nan Chu later questioned Xiao Yiqing's decision, to which Xiao Yiqing explained his intention to push Shu Jingrong to become strong and independent, capable of fighting alongside him one day.

Qing Yu retrieved the Sea Flower from Chi Xiaotai, stating he and Shu Jingrong would find their own path in the wide world. Shu Jingrong understood Xiao Yiqing's deliberate act, acknowledging that he burned her bridges to force her to grow stronger. Hua Lian interrogated Gu Guang about his escape. Gu Guang claimed that during the Sand Valley explosion, Qing Lan found him while he was escorting Ming He to safety.

He recalled being injured by gunpowder and falling into the valley with Qing Lan, then being unable to walk for days. He said he hid underwater to evade Snow Tower's informants and took a different route back to Nanjiang, barely making it back for the pilgrimage. Hua Lian noted his lingering internal injuries and ordered him to rest. Hua Lian then summoned Bing Ling, questioning her about the prophecy she presented.

Bing Ling, terrified, confessed that she had not performed a star reading as she lacked the Moon Spirit. Instead, she had merely transcribed Xue Wen's prophecy. Ming He later secretly met with Bing Ling, asserting that if her mother, Hua Lian, were to meet her end, she, Ming He, would become the new mistress of Moon Sect. She warned Bing Ling to keep Xue Wen's involvement confidential. While traveling, Shu Jingrong and Qing Yu encountered pursuers.

They fought fiercely, sustaining heavy injuries. Qing Yu lamented that the martial world he once romanticized was merely a brutal struggle for survival. Shu Jingrong, recalling her master's old prophecy that she would bring harm to those around her, decided she could no longer burden Qing Yu, and they parted ways. Three years passed. Snow Tower gradually regained its strength, attracting many sects who came to offer their allegiance.

However, Xiao Yiqing felt their progress was still far from his ultimate objective. Xiao Yiqing received new gunpowder fragments and a letter. Recognizing the unique texture of the gunpowder, identical to the debris found in Sand Valley three years prior, Xiao Yiqing decided to personally travel to Jiangnan. He mused that after three years, Shu Jingrong had finally emerged stronger.
