Qing Lan held Ming He captive on the divination platform, threatening to kill her if anyone approached. Moon Sect guards went to inform their Mistress. Qing Lan questioned Ming He about the number of Moon Sect members present. Ming He, revealing her name, expressed concern for him, urging him to leave to avoid death.

She stated she had deliberately allowed Qing Lan to wound her as a way to save his life, knowing her mother, Hua Lian, would destroy Sand Valley. Despite acknowledging Qing Lan’s kindness, she insisted he leave immediately, warning him that staying meant certain death. Qing Lan refused, threatening her with his sword after she countered that he couldn't protect anyone, certainly not himself. Just then, Qing Yu arrived with a severely injured Shu Jingrong, who had taken a tranquilizing pill.

Seeing Ming He, Qing Yu became enraged, wanting to kill the Moon Sect spy. Qing Lan stopped him, explaining Ming He was their only leverage to escape. Qing Yu then revealed that Bai Di had died from Moon Sect's gunpowder, shocking Qing Lan into grief. Qing Lan reaffirmed that they must avenge Bai Di, but first, they must survive.

He instructed Qing Yu to give Shu Jingrong a stamina pill, take her, and leave, while he stayed to cover their escape. Shu Jingrong awakened and cried out, wanting to stay and die with them, and Qing Yu resisted, wanting to stay together. However, Qing Lan, as the eldest brother, commanded them to obey. As Qing Yu carried Shu Jingrong away, Ming He tried to intervene, urging Qing Lan to leave, but she was pulled away by Moon Sect guards.

Hua Lian, unconcerned for Ming He's safety, ordered her forces to attack. Qing Lan fought valiantly against the Moon Sect disciples, quickly becoming covered in blood. Ming He, despite her injuries, tried to protect Qing Lan and pleaded for him to escape, but he remained resolute. Hua Lian ordered Ming He to be taken away, and Gu Guang engaged Qing Lan in combat. Both men suffered severe injuries and collapsed.

Disregarding Gu Guang’s fate, Hua Lian commanded her forces to destroy Sand Valley with explosives. Qing Yu, carrying Shu Jingrong, managed to escape the valley and met with Nan Chu and his men. Witnessing the massive explosion and the rising smoke from Sand Valley, everyone was stunned. Qing Yu, believing Qing Lan was dead, cried out in despair and attempted to rush back, but Nan Chu had to knock him unconscious to prevent him from returning to certain death.

Nan Chu then brought both Qing Yu and Shu Jingrong back to Snow Tower. Back at Snow Tower, Xiao Yiqing was severely weakened. Zi Mo informed him that despite using all resources of Lan Xue Hall, she found no clues as to who supplied Moon Sect with gunpowder, leading to Snow Tower's losses against Hua Lian. Xiao Yiqing also inquired about Shu Jingrong and Qing Yu.

Zi Mo reported that Qing Yu was fine, but Shu Jingrong remained unconscious due to severe injuries. Meanwhile, Xue Gu sat before Bai Di’s spirit tablet, arranging chess pieces. He conversed with Nan Chu, lamenting that Bai Di, his only true friend, was no longer there to finish their games. Xue Gu sadly acknowledged Nan Chu's point that Bai Di had always let him win at chess.

Nan Chu took Huang Quan to the Heavenly Arsenal Chamber to choose a weapon. He emphasized that the weapon would stay with him his entire life, and if it lived, he lived, but if it broke, he died. Huang Quan selected the Seven Stars Sword, which Nan Chu approved of, noting its former owner was a good man. Nan Chu told Huang Quan the sword had chosen him, and he now had a tricky task from Snow Tower.

Shu Jingrong awakened and immediately wanted to go back to Sand Valley to search for Qing Lan and Bai Di. Chi Xiaotai tried to stop her, explaining that Sand Valley was now a heap of ruins. Shu Jingrong, recalling Qing Lan's promise to take her away once she woke, clung to the belief that he was alive. Xiao Yiqing intervened, instructing Chi Xiaotai to prepare a carriage to take Shu Jingrong and Qing Yu back to Sand Valley.

He believed that only by confronting the harsh truth of the devastation could Shu Jingrong truly mature and master the Blood Rose Sword. Doctor Mo informed Xue Gu and Nan Chu that Xiao Yiqing’s Jue Yin Disease was worsening and would eventually be fatal.

He proposed a highly risky heart and lung surgery, involving a sharp blade cut into the heart and lung meridians, using Phoenix Tail Flower of Diannan as medicine and medicated baths to sustain Xiao Yiqing's life for three years, provided he survived the first night of treatment. Nan Chu deemed the method too dangerous and unheard of, explaining that it used poison against poison and couldn't work long-term, suggesting other options.

However, Xiao Yiqing accepted the treatment, stating it was the only way to save his life and that his decision was final. Qing Yu accompanied Shu Jingrong to the ruined Sand Valley, a landscape of corpses and blood. They desperately searched for Qing Lan but found no trace of him. Shu Jingrong collapsed in despair, questioning if Qing Lan could still be alive if they couldn't find his body.

Qing Yu, with tears in his eyes, confirmed that Qing Lan had intended to sacrifice himself so they could live. Shu Jingrong, blaming herself for the deaths of Bai Di and Qing Lan, refused to believe Qing Lan was dead and resisted Qing Yu's suggestion to perform a spirit evocation ritual. Doctor Mo began Xiao Yiqing's surgery, inserting a sharp blade into his heart and lung meridians.

Xiao Yiqing endured the excruciating pain with unwavering resolve, sweating profusely and his veins bulging, ensuring Doctor Mo successfully completed the procedure. The next day, Nan Chu presented Zi Mo with reconstruction plans for Feng Qing Garden, including defensive traps. Zi Mo observed Xiao Yiqing's tireless dedication, noting he was hardest on himself. Xiao Yiqing also sent flowers to Sand Valley to guide the spirits of the deceased. Meanwhile, Hua Lian's search for Gu Guang yielded no results.

She decided to cease the search, planning to publicly announce Gu Guang's death and appoint a new Left Guardian at the upcoming Pilgrimage Ceremony. Her guard mentioned Ming He's insubordination, which greatly irritated Hua Lian, making her feel she had spoiled her daughter. However, to avoid causing a stir before the Pilgrimage Ceremony, Hua Lian decided to let Ming He be.

Xue Gu approached Xiao Yiqing, requesting that Snow Tower take in Qing Yu and Shu Jingrong, fulfilling Bai Di's greatest concern for his disciples. Xiao Yiqing assured him that he already had plans for them. Hua Lian then visited Xue Wen, imprisoned in the Moon Sect's underground lake.

She cruelly informed Xue Wen of Xiao Shishui's death and delighted in telling her that Xiao Yiqing's Jue Yin Disease was worsening, vowing to kill him directly in front of Xue Wen, believing only then would Xue Wen realize the folly of her love for them.
