Lu Zhiyi then arrived, and a still-annoyed Tang Shuangli made him wear women's slippers. Zhao Mengdi, seeking alone time with He Qizhan, strategically paired Tang Shuangli with Lu Zhiyi in the kitchen.
There, Tang Shuangli’s surprising "fish-flinging" cooking technique shocked Lu Zhiyi. As the two affectionately bickered, Lu Zhiyi seized the chance to express his goodwill and clarify misunderstandings, leading to their reconciliation. The group continued their dinner, sharing candid remarks over drinks. Zhao Mengdi complimented Lu Zhiyi’s shrimp, prompting Tang Shuangli to admit she found peeling them cumbersome. She found it amusing and peculiar that "someone" always included such bonus questions, which she consistently solved correctly. She also remarked that while some people performed well, they often stumbled on bonus questions, affecting their overall ranking. Lu Zhiyi remained quiet, eating his rice, while He Qizhan realized Tang Shuangli was playfully hinting at Lu Zhiyi. Seeing his alcohol tolerance was low, Lu Zhiyi decided to leave the dinner early.
Meanwhile, Gu Ling visited Lu Zhiyi’s home, but finding the door code changed, she left angrily. Lu Zhiyi chose the new one, much to Tang Shuangli’s satisfaction, and everyone drank. Tang Shuangli lost the third round. He Qizhan asked her who was a better cook between him and Lu Zhiyi. Tang Shuangli avoided the question and drank, with Lu Zhiyi chivalrously drinking on her behalf. As the dinner concluded and intoxication set in, Jimmy, slightly drunk, informed He Qiaosheng that Albert seemed to favor Tianzhuo's bid for the Hash project, which displeased He Qiaosheng.
Jimmy then attempted to flirt with Ye Lin, but He Qiaosheng subtly intervened, sending Jimmy away and instructing Ye Lin to wash her hands, which she appreciated. He Qiaosheng then tasked Ye Lin with contacting their insider at Tianzhuo to obtain a copy of Tianzhuo’s second-round proposal for the Hash project as quickly as possible. He also reiterated his intention to appoint Tang Shuangli as Zhaoyue's Chief Technology Officer, a suggestion Ye Lin vehemently opposed.
She argued that Tang Shuangli, being a newcomer, lacked the qualifications, ability, and experience for such a high-ranking position, and that her past relationship with Albert wouldn't influence the bid due to his wife and father-in-law. Ye Lin also expressed concerns about company unity and the respect of long-serving employees. He Qiaosheng, asserting his authority as Zhaoyue's legal representative and holder of 51% of the shares, declared his decision final, causing Ye Lin to storm off angrily.
Amidst the general drunken revelry, Lu Zhiyi called Zhao Da for a ride. Tang Shuangli, fueled by alcohol, confronted Lu Zhiyi about his past identity as "Chubby Lu" from Class 5, Grade 7, and playfully accused him of various past grievances, including stealing her notebook, bossing her around, an incident in the elevator, and causing the loss of her cactus. Lu Zhiyi, also inebriated, denied being chubby and tried to defend himself.
Inspired by Zhao Mengdi's attempt to walk in a straight line, Tang Shuangli, Lu Zhiyi, and He Qizhan all comically tried to do the same. Eventually, He Qizhan carried a very drunk Zhao Mengdi to his bedroom, then returned to sleep on the living room sofa. Zhao Da picked up Lu Zhiyi, while Tang Shuangli retired to her own bedroom.
Before passing out, Lu Zhiyi recorded a video of himself with his cactus and sent it to Tang Shuangli, who was already asleep and didn't hear the notification. Simultaneously, He Qizhan and Zhao Mengdi woke up in an awkward position in his bed. Zhao Mengdi let out a scream, drawing Tang Shuangli's attention. He Qiaosheng countered by suggesting Gu Ling manage Tang Shuangli's influence, to which Gu Ling retorted that He Qiaosheng should focus on keeping Lu Zhiyi in line. He Qizhan eventually halted their impromptu "competing for a girl" contest, joking that they could jump until tomorrow otherwise.
