Mr. Zhang and Feida harbored resentment towards Lin Nan after he undermined them. Feida believed Lin Nan's arrogance stemmed from the company's excessive favoritism towards him, making him uncooperative. To retaliate against Lin Nan, Feida suggested Mr. Zhang consider Liang Yichuan of Youlong company. Feida told Mr. Zhang he had been wronged and found Lin Nan "too much" for making decisions without authorization.

He added that Lin Nan was "too self-righteous," acting as if his was the only animation company in China. He then recommended Liang Yichuan as a good alternative to focus on. At Youlong Production, Liang Yichuan, a leading talent, was informed that Lin Nan had put Feida in a difficult position. Liang Yichuan's staff reported that Feida, a "top stream dubbing actor," had just left Lin Nan's company and was now with them, attracting many fans and delighting investors.

Liang Yichuan saw an opportunity to get back at Feida, whose work attitude had been unsatisfactory during previous dubbing sessions for Youlong. Upon entering the recording studio, Liang Yichuan noticed Feida playing on his phone. He deliberately scolded the sound engineer, Xiaopeng, asking, "Do you know that you can't play with mobile phones in the recording studio? Are the rules on the wall decorations?"

He questioned Xiaopeng's professionalism and self-respect, warning him not to become complacent after a few successful projects, as many more talented and hardworking individuals were waiting for their chance. He then pointed to Feida, ironically praising him as "the Old Artist of the Future" in the dubbing industry, and chastised Xiaopeng for playing on his phone during such a rare learning opportunity with Feida.

Feida, realizing Liang Yichuan's criticism was aimed at him, quickly apologized, stating it was his fault for bringing his phone into the studio and promising not to do so again. Liang Yichuan, feigning acceptance, said he would let it go "for the sake of Feida." Yu Luxi was ecstatic to finally enter the recording studio. She had made sandwiches as a token of gratitude for Lin Nan.

However, a colleague, Xiaojing, warned her not to upset Lin Nan, who was "furious" again. During a company meeting, Lin Nan harshly critiqued Brother Wang's artwork for the "spring smile" project, stating it lacked the essence of spring and demanded revisions. He criticized the use of "Mo Landi color," incorrect sword gestures, and the production department falling two months behind schedule in Mr. Zhou's absence.

Brother Wang retorted that spring was in the heart and his work was satisfactory, refusing to make changes. Lin Nan, growing angrier, threatened to fire him, declaring the meeting adjourned. Brother Wang stormed out, grumbling about Lin Nan's increasingly bad temper. Yu Luxi tried to offer Lin Nan a sandwich and chrysanthemum tea to "lower his fire," but he curtly dismissed her, asking if he needed it, and walked away.

Overhearing colleagues discussing Lin Nan's mood swings, Yu Luxi decided to help Brother Wang. She found him and, using her talent for voice impersonation, including a "gentle little maid Maria's voice," offered him a Demon Slayer Nezuko figurine if he finished the drawing in an hour. Brother Wang, inspired, agreed. Yu Luxi excitedly brought the revised drawing to Lin Nan, mentioning her contribution to the "inspiration." However, Lin Nan was still unimpressed.

This led to another heated argument between Lin Nan and Brother Wang, who complained about Lin Nan's unreasonable demands, like drawing eyes that "see the entire universe sky" or depicting a father's longing for his son, not his daughter. Lin Nan, challenging Yu Luxi to judge the reasonableness of his demands, again threatened Brother Wang, who dramatically threw down his badge and declared he was quitting.

Yu Luxi tried to mediate, but Lin Nan scolded her for "minding other people's business" and ordered her out. Distressed, Yu Luxi later went to Brother Wang's desk, finding his badge and numerous drafts. She intended to show Lin Nan how hard Brother Wang had worked, but found them in Lin Nan's office, laughing and playing games together. Lin Nan dismissed her, saying they had always been fine and she was "too idle."

Utterly confused, Yu Luxi confided in Xiaojing, who calmly explained that Lin Nan, nicknamed "Feng Ling's little drama queen," experiences monthly "low tide periods" where creative bottlenecks make him "anxious and irritable," leading to uncontrolled outbursts. Xiaojing added that after these episodes, Lin Nan often sends "red envelope comfort" as an apology, and long-time employees like Brother Wang could receive over a thousand yuan a month from these "mental damage compensation" payments. Yu Luxi was astonished by this peculiar system.

That evening, Liu Ziwei, a student, quietly entered the recording studio to practice. Yu Luxi caught him, reminding him that Lin Nan forbade unauthorized entry, emphasizing the need for reverence towards the studio. As Liu Ziwei put the microphone back, Lin Nan appeared. Lin Nan sternly reprimanded them, expressing concern that hand sweat could damage the microphone, potentially ruining it. Yu Luxi explained Liu Ziwei merely wanted to practice.

When Lin Nan asked why Liu Ziwei didn't just tell him, Yu Luxi whispered that "everyone is afraid of you." Lin Nan asked Liu Ziwei directly if he was afraid, to which Liu Ziwei hesitantly denied before making his exit. Lin Nan then pressed Yu Luxi about why the students feared him. Yu Luxi replied, "Because you don't know them."

Lin Nan, taking this to heart, immediately decided to organize a team-building event for the dubbing class the following day, instructing Yu Luxi to get it organized. Yu Luxi, excited by the idea, inwardly planned for the event to take place at her coffee shop. Later that night, Lin Nan received a phone call from Liang Yichuan, who accused him of deleting his number.

Liang Yichuan informed him that "Yiyi" would soon return from abroad and was unaware of their breakup, requesting Lin Nan to keep it a secret. Lin Nan hung up the call. He then recalled a difficult period in his early career when his dubbing post went viral, but it was filled with harsh criticism. A friend had tried to comfort him, suggesting the critics' aesthetics were outdated.

Lin Nan, though claiming not to be angry, envisioned a future with many excellent Chinese animated works, where he would create animation and his friend would do the dubbing. The next day, at the team-building event held at Yu Luxi's cafe, everyone initially remained reserved. Lin Nan encouraged them to speak freely and share their reasons for entering the dubbing industry, starting with the oldest.

A student joked that Lin Nan should go first, to which Lin Nan chuckled and complied. He shared how he discovered his passion for dubbing while playing games with friends, eventually falling in love with it, still vividly recalling iconic lines like "For the Tribe, Power and Glory." Other students shared their diverse backgrounds, from a broadcast station manager to someone who joined because "admiring little sisters" told him his voice could "make ears pregnant."

When it was Yu Luxi's turn, after a brief hesitation, she spoke about her two years since college graduation, dedicating herself to becoming a voice actor, foregoing traditional jobs, and supporting herself through various dubbing gigs. She also shared about her father, a tour guide who uses his voice for atmosphere, being incredibly supportive of her career choice.

She expressed her joy at joining Feng Ling and working with such talented voice actors, vowing to work hard despite currently being just a front desk receptionist. Her spirited sharing was met with applause, and everyone raised their coffee cups, cheering, "To Bole!" Lin Nan watched her, smiling with interest. After the team-building, Yu Luxi discovered Lin Nan had already paid the bill.

She approached him to reimburse him, but Lin Nan candidly told her that her current dubbing fees were insufficient for self-sufficiency. He explained that most "famous teacher" voice acting classes online were scams, and legitimate institutions, usually professional studios or academic programs, rarely accepted students. He asserted that if she had truly received professional training, she wouldn't still be unable to perform properly.

Yu Luxi, acknowledging his sharp observation, admitted that her path hadn't been smooth and she had given up much, but she insisted she wasn't playing the victim and believed that with an opportunity, she could succeed. Lin Nan concluded by saying, "Preparedness is more important than opportunity." That night, lying in bed, Yu Luxi pondered Lin Nan. She perceived him as outwardly cold but inwardly warm and lonely.

She reflected on his selfless acts, like paying for the team-building, yet his stern demeanor. She wondered why he had left the dubbing world, suspecting some untold hardship. Imagining his heart bleeding in solitude, she resolved that, as his apprentice, she would protect him from sadness and loneliness, vowing to prove herself worthy.
