Cao Yanbing and Xia Ling prepared to find the entrance to the barrier of Hanxian Jie. Cao Yanbing only bought some underwear and socks to bring, while Xia Ling bought a lot of skincare products like sunscreen and aloe vera gel. Cao Yanbing felt heartbroken when he heard Xia Ling spent 2000 on Xuehua Cream. Xia Ling saw he was unhappy and took him to see the motorcycle she rented.

Cao Yanbing was very happy seeing it, thinking Xia Ling had bought it. Xia Ling told him she rented it and that sometimes spending money makes you happier than saving money. The two arrived at the place where Xia Ling's father used to live and found it had turned into a wedding dress shop. In order to enter the Hanxian Jie barrier, the two went into the wedding dress shop to take pictures.

The two pretended to be a couple and searched everywhere in the store, finally finding the barrier to enter Hanxian Jie inside the shop. Cao Yanbing and Xia Ling ate at a tavern in Hanxian Jie and inquired about information. Xia Ling saw the kind tavern owner helping an old person and sighed about the simple folk customs here. Someone in the tavern ate without paying. The owner chased him to collect, but was threatened and beaten instead.

Cao Yanbing couldn't stand it and stepped in to teach the freeloaders a lesson. The owner was very grateful to Cao Yanbing, who took the opportunity to ask the owner if he knew Xia Qifeng. The people in the tavern's faces changed drastically after hearing about Xia Qifeng. Xia Ling saw everyone's expression and quickly asked if they knew her father. The people heard she was Xia Qifeng's daughter and wanted to kick her out.

The owner explained that because Xia Qifeng was previously the Spiritual Guardian of Hanxian Jie, but he abandoned the street and fled, causing the residents here to be harmed by evil spirits, and some residents even turned into evil spirits. Therefore, the people of Hanxian Jie dislike him. Xia Ling didn't believe her father would be such a person and suspected there might be a misunderstanding.

The owner said Xia Ling was a good person, but they would not forgive her father's act of abandoning the street and fleeing, so he hoped they would still leave this place. Xia Ling and Cao Yanbing were unhappy after leaving the tavern. She firmly believed her father was not someone who would abandon the street and flee.

Cao Yanbing told Xia Ling, "Your father might be a good father to you, but as a Spiritual Guardian, he has the responsibility to protect this street. Under no circumstances should he abandon the street and flee. " Xia Ling was very angry after hearing this and said she needed to calm down.

Shen Yuanqing, the acting Spiritual Guardian of Hanxian Jie, heard that Xia Ling had come to Hanxian Jie, found her, and comforted her, saying that Xia Qifeng was a very good person and not to believe what those residents said. Cao Yanbing came back wanting to apologize to Xia Ling but found the two talking happily and was very displeased. Shen Yuanqing invited Xia Ling and Cao Yanbing to Xue Lingxuan, where her father used to live.

Shen Yuanqing saw that Cao Yanbing was very hostile towards him and explained his relationship with Xia Qifeng. He was General Xia's subordinate and had always greatly admired Xia Qifeng. Shen Yuanqing was always bullied because he couldn't use Origin Spirit power. After being saved by Xia Qifeng, he became his subordinate and stayed by his side, eradicating evil spirits. Moreover, when Xia Qifeng encountered evil spirits who might turn good, he couldn't bear to kill them directly.

Instead, he would continuously recite the Xia family's Pacifying Soul Curse until they turned good. Due to his sense of responsibility towards Hanxian Jie, Xia Qifeng often lacked companionship for Xia Ling. He himself often lamented that he was not a good father.

Cao Yanbing saw that something was wrong with Shen Yuanqing; he was pretending all along and deliberately arranged his room very far from Xia Ling's in order to get him away and make a move on Xia Ling. He warned Xia Ling on the side, but Xia Ling always thought Shen Yuanqing was a good person and that Cao Yanbing was being overly suspicious. Cao Yanbing left angrily to go drink, but he was still worried.

When he reached Xia Ling's room door, he found that she had turned off the lights and gone to sleep, so he had no choice but to sleep outside her room door and guard her all night. Shen Yuanqing originally wanted to make a move on Xia Ling, but because of Cao Yanbing, he had to give up.
