After fainting, Zhou Jianqing was rushed to the hospital, where the doctor informed Gu Nanzhou that she had an allergic reaction to benzodiazepines. The doctor noted that while her family had been careless, she was brought in just in time and would only require two days of observation.
Gu Nanzhou, feeling partly responsible as she must have accidentally taken his medication, reflected on her lack of awareness regarding her own allergies, musing that it made sense her brother had to write a manual on how to care for her. The next morning, Zhou Jianqing woke up disoriented. Upon realizing she was in the hospital, she panicked, insisting she had to leave to meet her deadline. Gu Nanzhou firmly restrained her, reminding her she was a patient.
Zhou Jianqing pleaded, explaining that this job was a rare opportunity she couldn't afford to lose. Relenting, Gu Nanzhou offered to have Jiang Xiaochuan retrieve her work supplies and personal items. Upon learning of Zhou Jianqing’s hospitalization, Jiang Jingxuan offered to go instead, claiming Gu Nanzhou was unfamiliar with women's belongings. Later, Jiang Jingxuan visited Zhou Jianqing, bringing expensive imported mangoes and mentioning that Gu Nanzhou was extremely particular, only eating fruit that she had cut to a consistent size.
When Gu Nanzhou announced he and Jiang Xiaochuan were going to the supermarket, Zhou Jianqing rattled off a list of snacks, hand cream, and a "Mori style" scrunchie. She then asked him to buy sanitary napkins, which he bluntly refused. During their visit, Jiang Jingxuan casually picked up and drank from Gu Nanzhou’s water bottle, calling it an old habit. At the supermarket, Gu Nanzhou meticulously researched sanitary napkins online before making a selection.
He refused to buy snacks for Jiang Xiaochuan, who then teased him about having developed feelings for Zhou Jianqing due to his attentiveness. Gu Nanzhou denied it, claiming he was only trying to instill good habits in her and admitting that her hospitalization was partly his fault. Perplexed by the "Mori style" scrunchie request, he ended up buying one of every kind. Back at the hospital, Gu Nanzhou reminded Zhou Jianqing of her mango allergy when she wanted a bite.
He then sent Jiang Jingxuan and Jiang Xiaochuan back to the office so Zhou Jianqing could rest. Jiang Jingxuan offered to stay, but Gu Nanzhou declined, explaining he was simply fulfilling his contractual obligations. After he left, Zhang Yin arrived, concerned to see her on a drip. He urged her to rest, but she insisted on finishing her draft, explaining the job's importance. Zhang Yin offered to help her finish the remaining work.
As they worked, Zhou Jianqing paused to take a picture to post on social media to impress her boss. Gu Nanzhou returned to find Zhou Jianqing’s IV drip finished and her busy taking photos. Furious, he scolded her for risking her health for a social media post and ordered Zhang Yin to leave. Zhang Yin confronted Gu Nanzhou, accusing him of abandoning Zhou Jianqing and not understanding her deep passion for comics.
Zhou Jianqing tearfully seconded Zhang Yin, pleading that the draft was crucial for her career. Witnessing their resolve, Gu Nanzhou relented, allowing them to finish quickly. Once the work was done, Gu Nanzhou immediately told Zhang Yin to leave and confiscated all the unhealthy snacks he had brought. When Zhou Jianqing called him unreasonable, he replied, "I'm your Party A. There's no need to reason with you."
Later, Zhou Jianqing received a call from her brother, Zhou Zixuan, who was outside Gu Nanzhou's apartment. She lied about working late, then panicked and called Su Youxia, begging her to lure Zhou Zixuan away. For the next few days, Su Youxia used various excuses to keep Zhou Zixuan occupied, including needing a photography model, a partner for a flower arrangement class, and a shopping companion.
Finally, she feigned a severe stomachache, and a concerned Zhou Zixuan insisted on taking her to the hospital. Meanwhile, Gu Nanzhou was accompanying Zhou Jianqing on a walk when her doctor delivered the good news that she was cleared for discharge. Just as they celebrated, they spotted Zhou Zixuan entering the hospital with a seemingly ill Su Youxia. They tried to hide, but it was too late. After a quick check-up confirmed Su Youxia was fine, Zhou Zixuan spotted them.
To maintain the charade for her brother, Zhou Jianqing immediately began acting affectionately, calling Gu Nanzhou "darling" and demanding he fetch her juice as part of "husband training." Visibly uncomfortable, Gu Nanzhou complied, but excused himself as soon as he could. Zhou Jianqing then confronted her brother, urging him to stop acting like an "evil mother-in-law" and give their relationship space, warning that his interference would scare her new boyfriend away. Zhou Zixuan reluctantly promised to stop visiting.
After her brother left, Zhou Jianqing informed Gu Nanzhou that he no longer needed to pretend and that she would move out the next day. She sincerely thanked him for his help and care, promising to leave no trace of her presence behind. Feeling a strange discomfort, Gu Nanzhou simply reiterated, "Clear all traces of yours." That night, a restless Gu Nanzhou took medication to sleep while Zhou Jianqing diligently cleaned the apartment.
The next morning, she left a note by his bed, thanking him and confirming she had cleaned everything. Just as Zhou Jianqing was about to leave, Gu Nanzhou's mother arrived unexpectedly. Spotting a photo of the couple, she immediately assumed they were dating and that Zhou Jianqing was moving out because they had fought. Zhou Jianqing decided to play along, confirming they were breaking up due to "contrasting personalities."
Gu Nanzhou's mother vehemently disagreed, insisting Zhou Jianqing's personality perfectly complemented her son's. She chastised Gu Nanzhou for being ungentlemanly, declaring that she "called the shots" and that Zhou Jianqing would stay, threatening to break her son's legs if he objected. Left with no choice, Zhou Jianqing could only acquiesce.
