Gu Nanzhou confronted Zhou Jianqing, demanding to know how she had entered his house. He reminded her that trespassing was illegal and could lead to jail. Zhou Jianqing pleaded with him, explaining she had been stalked and had nowhere else to go, having previously seen him enter his passcode. She highlighted the dangers a woman faces late at night.

When police, whom Gu Nanzhou had called, arrived, Zhou Jianqing quickly embraced him and declared herself his fiancée, claiming they had a fight and she had returned without telling him. Although the police expressed frustration about being called for a domestic dispute, they accepted Gu Nanzhou's explanation that it was a misunderstanding and left after a warning about the Public Security Administration Punishments Law. As a result, Zhou Jianqing ended up staying at his place.

That night, Gu Nanzhou was kept awake by Zhou Jianqing's activities, including drinking water, eating an apple, and doing yoga in her room. He confronted her, insisting that she adhere to his house rules and make no sound during his designated resting hours. Zhou Jianqing felt wronged, questioning if he was intentionally looking for trouble and accusing him of having ulterior motives for entering her room late at night.

The next morning, as Zhou Jianqing prepared to leave, apologizing for the disturbance, Gu Nanzhou stopped her. He pointed out numerous things she hadn't cleaned, from water stains on cups to mud on her luggage, a blanket that wasn't folded symmetrically, and an untidy bath towel. He questioned her basic life skills. Annoyed by his nitpicking, Zhou Jianqing declared that he could beg on his knees, and she would never return.

Zhou Jianqing went to Su Youxia's house, where Su Youxia immediately asked about her whereabouts, revealing that Zhou Jianqing's brother, Zhou Zixuan, had been frantically searching for her after learning she had moved out of her dormitory. Zhou Jianqing lied, claiming she had found a new job and needed to stay with a colleague, then declared she would stay with Su Youxia, assuring her brother not to worry. Su Youxia initially worried about Zhou Zixuan's potential visits to her home.

Zhou Jianqing assumed Su Youxia disliked her brother due to his annoying and "despicable" personality, but Su Youxia denied hating him and eventually agreed to let Zhou Jianqing stay. Zhou Zixuan learned that someone had mysteriously paid off his debt and received a business card for "Mantang Law Firm," whose lawyer, Mr. Zhuang, later confirmed to Gu Nanzhou that the debt had been settled by him. Meanwhile, Zhou Jianqing attended a job interview at an animation company.

The boss praised her work and ambition to become a top cartoonist, but then presented her with a script for a "brainless domineering character" story. Zhou Jianqing expressed her disappointment, finding the genre unoriginal. The boss insisted that the key was to make it special and moving, promising her creative freedom for future projects if she delivered on this one, but gave her a tight deadline of Sunday, only three days away. He suggested she find an assistant if needed.

Zhou Jianqing then sought out Zhang Yin, hoping he would assist her. Zhang Yin initially refused, citing upcoming exams and stating he wasn't interested in the meager pay from assisting her. Zhou Jianqing tried to convince him that the company was good and it was an opportunity to pursue their dreams. She reminded him of their shared ambition to "rule the cartoon industry" and become "great cartoonists" and "industry big shots."

Zhang Yin, though initially skeptical of her dream talk, eventually relented after she promised a guaranteed payment split upon money being banked in, conceding he knew she was his "most reliable buddy." Later, Zhang Yin directly asked Zhou Jianqing if she was genuinely marrying Gu Nanzhou. She confirmed it, citing his handsome appearance, good figure, and charisma, admitting she could overlook any "condition" he had because of his looks.

Soon after, Gu Nanzhou called Zhou Jianqing, informing her there was a banquet that night at 8 p. m. and instructing her to dress formally. Zhou Jianqing enthusiastically agreed. Zhou Jianqing arrived at the banquet dressed in her "job interview" formal attire, which Gu Nanzhou found unsuitably informal. Before they could address her outfit, the client, Mr. Luo, arrived.

Mr. Luo immediately began to tease Gu Nanzhou for dating someone so young, calling Zhou Jianqing his "tender grass" and toasting to his courage. Despite Jiang Xiaochuan's concern for Gu Nanzhou's low alcohol tolerance, Zhou Jianqing boldly stepped in, claiming she had "great alcohol tolerance" and proposing to drink on Gu Nanzhou's behalf for a negotiated price of 500 RMB per glass. Zhou Jianqing skillfully handled the toasts.

She started by explaining she was the youngest and should naturally drink to her senior, Mr. Luo. She then praised Mr. Luo's "respect for art" and his interest in developing an animation department, calling him a "sentimental person" unlike other investors who only cared about money. She articulated how good comics convey deeper concepts and thoughts, and that Mr. Luo's dedication proved his passion for the art form.

Impressed by her insights, Mr. Luo proposed a toast to "Mrs. Gu," which pleased Gu Nanzhou. As the evening progressed, Zhou Jianqing became increasingly inebriated, eventually calling Mr. Luo "brother," much to Gu Nanzhou's silent annoyance. On the way home, Zhou Jianqing was boisterous and demanding more alcohol, while Jiang Xiaochuan tentatively asked Gu Nanzhou if the 500 RMB per glass cost for her drinks could be reimbursed.

With Zhou Jianqing completely inebriated, Gu Nanzhou had no choice but to bring her back to his house. Once inside, she stood on the sofa and insisted on singing loudly. Growing impatient, Gu Nanzhou threatened to throw her out, which made her cry inconsolably. After much effort, Zhou Jianqing finally fell asleep. Gu Nanzhou then discovered her account book, which meticulously detailed her debts and expenses.

He was taken aback to see she budgeted only 20 RMB for daily meals and relied heavily on various coupons, realizing she lived a difficult life despite her cheerful demeanor. He recalled his father's concern about her. Suddenly, Zhou Jianqing awoke, demanding instant noodles and another beer because she hadn't eaten enough while drinking.

She then stumbled to the bathroom to vomit and subsequently turned on the shower, fully clothed, drenching both herself and Gu Nanzhou, who looked on with a mix of exasperation and resignation. Gu Nanzhou carried the soaking wet Zhou Jianqing to his bedroom. As he put her down, she clung to him, expressing her fear and pleading with him not to leave. Delirious, she called out for her mother, complaining of being cold and hungry, and again asking for noodles. Witnessing her vulnerability, Gu Nanzhou's resolve softened as he gently reassured her he was there and told her to sleep.
