Girlfriend Episode 10 Recap
> Girlfriend Recap
Ye Feimo took charge of Anning Culture once again, announcing to the company's senior management the successful launch of "Blue Sky Galaxy", one of their most significant projects this year. He revealed that the film would receive a one hundred percent screening rate from Yaohua theater chains, with Yaohua even forgoing the first week's box office profit to be used for publicity. Ye Feimo then exposed Lin Zheng, his former special assistant, as a spy.
He revealed that Lin Zheng had collaborated with Jiang Fang of Yaohua, helping Jiang Fang steal a fake script that Ye Feimo had intentionally prepared. This act allowed Ye Feimo to gather crucial evidence, ultimately securing the favorable screening agreement with Yaohua. Consequently, Ye Feimo gave Lin Zheng, Vice General Manager Chen, and Director Li one hour to pack their belongings and leave Anning, warning them of severe consequences if they failed to comply. Lin Zheng pleaded for another chance.
Following Lin Zheng's dismissal, Maggie stepped in as Ye Feimo's new special assistant. She introduced herself and presented the documents requiring his immediate attention. Ye Feimo instructed her to "work more and talk less," and she affirmed her understanding. Maggie seemed to fit Ye Feimo's standards, showing little interest in office gossip. When colleagues were abuzz about a photo of Ye Feimo kissing a mysterious woman, Maggie quietly left the chat group, stating she had no interest in such news.
Meanwhile, Ye Feimo was still preoccupied with Xiaonuan, who had left without a word. Maggie attempted to return the "Rose Tears" necklace to Ye Feimo, stating that Xiaonuan was determined to give it back to him. However, Ye Feimo refused to accept it, instructing Maggie to return it to Xiaonuan and insisting that Xiaonuan should come in person to return it, out of proper procedure and courtesy. Maggie declined to get involved, explaining that it was his personal matter.
Xiaonuan, having successfully raised the necessary funds for her theater troupe, shared the good news with her sister, Xiaokai. Despite her achievements, she found herself often reflecting on her time with Ye Feimo. Looking at the stars, she recalled his often "cold" and methodical approach to life, a stark contrast to her own emotional nature. Ye Feimo's longing for Xiaonuan manifested in his extreme pickiness about food.
He found fault with the seafood porridge Maggie brought him, demanding she get a different one. Desperate for news, he sought out Gu Yunzhou to inquire about Xiaonuan's recent whereabouts. Gu Yunzhou admitted he wasn't close to Xiaonuan but knew her best friend, Wang Jiayi, an artist with Yaohua, with whom Xiaonuan was currently staying. Seizing an opportunity, Gu Yunzhou offered to investigate Xiaonuan's situation if Ye Feimo granted him a day off.
Ye Feimo agreed but cleverly scheduled it as a day off to be made up during the weekend, exposing Gu Yunzhou's initial attempt to slack off. Gu Yunzhou playfully retorted that Ye Feimo himself had been eyeing someone at a recent party. Gu Yunzhou decided to "accidentally" encounter Wang Jiayi at her usual hair salon. Disguised as a hairdresser, he clumsily fumbled with her hair, struggling to trim her ends while trying to sell her expensive shampoo.
He subtly began to inquire about Xiaonuan, asking if the girl seen with Ye Feimo at a recent banquet was her friend. Wang Jiayi confirmed it was Wen Xiaonuan and expressed her desire for Xiaonuan to stay away from Ye Feimo, whom she found difficult to deal with. Gu Yunzhou quickly defended Ye Feimo, calling him a "paper tiger" and claiming a casual acquaintance through Director Li Can, whose driver he had sometimes been.
He then suggested Ye Feimo seemed upset recently, wondering if it was due to a quarrel with Xiaonuan. Wang Jiayi speculated that Xiaonuan "may still be confused with her own feelings." Continuing the conversation, Gu Yunzhou remarked that sometimes clarity about one's heart comes simply from looking inward. While talking, he accidentally snipped his own finger. To avoid revealing his injury, he hastily finished the haircut and left.
Meanwhile, Han Hui's agent happily informed her of Ye Feimo's breakup with Wen Xiaonuan, confirming Xiaonuan had moved out of his villa. Han Hui, confident that Ye Feimo still harbored feelings for her, smugly asserted that she knew Xiaonuan, being merely a stand-in, would never last with him. Her agent bolstered this confidence, reminding Han Hui that she was Ye Feimo's first love and that he had only sought out Xiaonuan to provoke her.
Han Hui was convinced her shared memories and unique ability to assist Ye Feimo would ensure their reunion, believing Xiaonuan simply could not compare. Following her departure from Ye Feimo, Xiaonuan dedicated herself even more to her work, cherishing and diligently performing every role, regardless of its size. Gu Yunzhou, exaggerating his minor finger injury, reported his findings to Ye Feimo. He claimed Wang Jiayi revealed that Xiaonuan already had feelings for someone else, confirming it was not Ye Feimo.
Ye Feimo suspected she might still be interested in Jiang Fang. Gu Yunzhou advised Ye Feimo to stop relentlessly pursuing Xiaonuan, suggesting it was beneath his dignity. Meanwhile, after a long day of work, Xiaonuan confided in Wang Jiayi about her uncertainty regarding her future career path. She expressed disinterest in several talent agencies Wang Jiayi suggested, including Yaohua (due to Jiang Fang), Shiliang Culture, Liju Media, Qingxin Media, and Reliang Group.
When Wang Jiayi finally mentioned Anning Culture, Xiaonuan emphatically stated her refusal to join, declaring she wanted no further association with Ye Feimo, as Anning was his company. Despite Xiaonuan's reluctance, Wang Jiayi secretly submitted Xiaonuan's resume to Anning Culture. Upon receiving Xiaonuan's resume, Zhou Xiaojing immediately reported it to Ye Feimo.
Although Ye Feimo initially commented on the resume's perfunctory nature, Zhou Xiaojing convinced him that Xiaonuan possessed the potential to become an excellent artist, reminding him that she had extended an offer to Xiaonuan when Xiaonuan returned a necklace previously. Believing Xiaonuan had now seriously considered the offer, Ye Feimo was elated, immediately instructing an S-grade artist management contract to be prepared for her.
When Zhou Xiaojing questioned if such a high-level contract was appropriate for a newcomer, Ye Feimo declared he would handle it in person. He went to meet Xiaonuan, greeting her by saying he hadn't realized Anning Culture was so appealing to her, and offered her the S-grade contract. To Ye Feimo's shock, Xiaonuan denied ever submitting a resume, questioning if Wang Jiayi was responsible.
Ye Feimo insisted the resume and information were hers and had been sent from her email account. Xiaonuan then explained her lack of interest in Anning Culture, directly stating it was "because of you" that she didn't want to join. Ye Feimo, visibly upset, called her an "idiot" and questioned why she hadn't personally returned the "Rose Tears," emphasizing its preciousness. Xiaonuan retorted, asking why he hadn't personally collected it if it was so valuable.
She then asked if he was apologizing, to which he sternly replied that they were discussing work, not personal feelings. Xiaonuan admitted she was an emotional person. Ye Feimo reminded her of her previous excellent performance under an Anning contract and offered her another.
Despite the tense exchange, Xiaonuan took a step back, apologizing for the "terrible start" that led to their misunderstanding, for not having properly thanked him while fulfilling their previous contract, and for not personally returning the "Rose Tears" necklace. Ye Feimo, in turn, also apologized for having misunderstood her.
