Grandpa Zhou not only remembered him but lovingly scolded him to eat his wontons and consider marriage, observing Youning's tearful happiness. Ye Youning, overcome with emotion, wished to live in this perfect timeline forever, having finally saved his grandpa.
The next morning, Ye Youning visited Xia Wenxi's house, where her mother informed him that Xia Wenxi had just returned from abroad and was currently at Gao Xiaoai's wedding. Simultaneously, Yang Chuang called Ye Youning, urging him to hurry to the wedding, as he was supposed to be his best man. Ye Youning realized that in this changed timeline, Gao Xiaoai and Yang Chuang were getting married, and he was close friends with Yang Chuang and Lin Jiaqi.
At the wedding venue, Lin Jiaqi rushed Ye Youning to change into his best man suit. As Ye Youning emerged, he was captivated by Xia Wenxi, who looked stunning in her bridesmaid dress. He approached her, wanting to thank her, but before he could properly explain, Chen Tingting pulled Xia Wenxi away. The ceremony continued with heartfelt vows, and Grandpa Zhou was present, celebrating with everyone. Back in 2006, after Ye Youning brought Grandpa Zhou home safely, he noticed Xia Wenxi's injured foot from saving his grandfather. He meticulously cleaned and bandaged her wound, offering her a piece of candy to ease the pain, and apologized for the trouble. Witnessing Xia Wenxi's distress and the public taunts at school, Ye Youning decided to act. Remembering that the English speech contest offered prize money, he approached Mr. Yu, the teacher in charge. Mr. Yu initially refused, explaining that Ye Youning had previously declined, and the spot was given to Yang Shiyi. Ye Youning then approached Yang Shiyi directly, proposing to tutor her in physics in exchange for her spot in the contest.
Yang Shiyi agreed, and Ye Youning successfully secured the spot and won the prize money. Meanwhile, Lin Jiaqi received his own Mayday concert tickets via delivery, brimming with excitement as he pondered how to best invite Xia Wenxi. Ye Youning, with his prize money, also went to an offline ticket booth, where he observed a chaotic crowd trying to buy the few remaining tickets.
There, Yang Chuang mentioned that Xia Wenxi had already gone to pick up Lin Jiaqi from his pilot retest. Soon after, Xia Wenxi was seen playfully greeting Lin Jiaqi after his retest, and he invited her to walk home together.
