Synopsis
A major and sudden crime occurs in Beishan City, where the celebrity entrepreneur Long Yunfei is caught red-handed with a murder weapon. He is taken in as a prime suspect by the Criminal Investigation Unit. Prosecutor Su Qing teams up with the head of the Criminal Investigation Unit, Feng Gang, to launch an investigation into the case. Unexpectedly, during the course of their inquiry, they stumble upon a complex connection between this case and a long-unsolved case from several years ago.
During the court trial, defense lawyer Cai Lin presents a compelling case, and Long Yunfei is acquitted on the spot. Just as Su Qing uncovers new evidence in her secret investigation, a major twist in the case occurs when Long Yunfei unexpectedly takes his own life out of fear.
Inspired by her experiences, Su Qing decided to change her traditional investigative approach. She starts a fresh investigation from the angle of psychological control.
The truth gradually comes to light. Justice may be delayed, but it will never be absent.
