Li Nong and A Ze led people out and encountered fake Northern Tribe soldiers lying in ambush. A fierce fight ensued. A Ze realized these people were not very strong but unexpectedly, real Northern Tribe soldiers showed up. Thinking they were the same as the others, A Ze charged in and astonishingly managed to fight off over ten enemies by himself, shocking everyone. No one expected A Ze to become so formidable.

Bai Chuan initially thought these were actors arranged by Zichuan Xiu, but Zichuan Xiu revealed they were real Northern Tribe soldiers. What surprised her was that the first thing he wanted to do was treat everyone to a feast.

While Bai Chuan was training the troops, she discovered some Northern Tribe soldiers nearby with fresh bloodstains, suggesting the attackers weren’t far. She led people in pursuit and identified them as deserters from Yuanzhou, each wounded. Bai Chuan shared their food and learned they were from the fifth squad of the Zichuan family’s Lei Hong, led by a man named Hu An. Since Hu An didn’t know where to go next, Bai Chuan suggested returning to the village together.

When Hu An heard it was Zichuan Xiu’s unit, he was overjoyed and respectfully saluted. They had long known Zichuan Xiu killed Lei Hong—something they all wanted but didn’t dare do—so they admired him deeply. Bai Chuan introduced Hu An to Zichuan Xiu. Ever since Lei Hong died, they had fled. While following Lei Hong, they were always sent on the most dangerous missions—they were simply cannon fodder. After fleeing, some of their comrades were captured and burned alive.

Later, Hu An set a trap and wiped out those enemies. After Zichuan Xiu killed Lei Hong, Lu Di was promoted to Great General of Pingyuan, which confused Zichuan Xiu. He thought only someone like Yun Qianxue deserved such a title. Hu An explained that recently, the Divine Emperor of Sairong had decreed that the person who killed the most could take the position.

Lu Di then went to Moon Bay and massacred tens of thousands of civilians, issuing a kill-and-occupy order. Because of the high death toll, he secured the generalship. Old Delun furiously cursed Lu Di as a beast and wanted to rescue the people immediately. He gathered locals for a meeting. Zichuan Xiu was willing to join the rescue, but Old Delun advised him not to get involved out of concern that he would no longer be welcomed there.

Zichuan Xiu agreed only to listen during the meeting and not give opinions, so Old Delun allowed it. No one wanted to go rescue the people. In frustration, Old Delun decided to lead the mission himself with twenty thousand men. Privately, Zichuan Xiu told Old Delun that if the Yuanzhou people could be united and trained together, they would become a formidable force. But Old Delun believed the people were too divided and unwilling.

Zichuan Xiu wanted to help rescue the people, but also understood that each tribe needed individual support. Zichuan Xiu found locals from Moon Bay and persuaded them to help. He drew a prison layout and had the Xiu Battalion handle the fighting, while the others were only responsible for the rescue. However, after being rescued, the people of Moon Bay were ungrateful and lashed out at the people of Blue Village.

A Ze kicked down a pillar in anger, shocking everyone. Zichuan Xiu then addressed the real issue: everyone was starving. Only by leaving could they eat. That finally got everyone to cooperate. Zichuan Xiu felt that although these people had been rescued, they had no ability to survive on their own. If they left, it would mean death. Bai Chuan understood Zichuan Xiu’s point and agreed to help them build houses, which made Zichuan Xiu happy.
