After recovering from her recent health scare, Qin's mother, while still in bed, asked Wan Xinxin to address her as "Mom" from now on. Seeing Qin's mother's frail condition, Wan Xinxin immediately agreed. Qin's mother then summoned Qin Gang, stating that despite the scare, she feared sudden health deterioration and wished to revise her will immediately. Qin Gang tried to dissuade her, suggesting they wait until tomorrow morning, but his mother insisted, wanting a lawyer at once.
He promised to make the call. Once outside, Qin Gang contacted Liu Wei, informing her that their plan was finally nearing success. Meanwhile, Xu Ke was staked out near Qin Gang's company, hoping to capture clear photographic evidence. Hua Ming arrived and urged him to stop, explaining that Qin Gang was now alert and unlikely to expose himself easily. As they spoke, Qin Gang emerged from the company and spotted them.
He then deliberately made a phone call to Wan Xinxin, fabricating a conversation to make it sound like Hua Ming was harassing him by being at the company entrance with Xu Ke, making Wan Xinxin furious.
Qin Gang mockingly referred to Hua Ming as "her knight in shining armor" and falsely suggested there was a "misunderstanding" between him and Hua Ming that needed clearing up, all while subtly implying that this situation could upset his mother and cause her blood pressure to spike again. Later, Wan Xinxin returned to Hua Ming's home and confronted him, demanding he stop interfering with her life.
She explained that she had finally accepted Qin Gang and was trying to build a new life, and she didn't want Qin's mother to fall ill again due to their disputes. Hua Ming expressed his regret for having persuaded her to move back to the Qin family, even offering to have her move back in with him.
Wan Xinxin, however, felt he kept his true feelings hidden and that she could never understand what he was truly thinking, remarking that his "door is always closed" to her. Hua Ming assured her that everything he had done was for her and her son, Bao. Wan Xinxin, however, declared her decision to remarry Qin Gang and asked Hua Ming to no longer disturb her. Hua Ming was visibly shocked.
Xu Ke, deeply upset by Wan Xinxin's decision, went to the Qin residence to confront her. He was angry that she was falling for Qin Gang's tricks again, calling her foolish for repeatedly putting herself in a bad situation. Wan Xinxin explained that with a child now, all her decisions were for Bao's sake, and she was willing to endure the situation.
When Xu Ke pressed her about her feelings for Hua Ming, Wan Xinxin hesitated, admitting she couldn't understand Hua Ming's true emotions, as he had never given her a clear answer. Xu Ke accused her of being a coward, unwilling to face her true feelings and afraid of being hurt again. He became furious, telling her that if she remarried Qin Gang, he would end their friendship.
Wan Xinxin defiantly accepted, walking away and telling him not to talk to her anymore. Distraught over losing Wan Xinxin as a friend, Xu Ke met Hua Ming at a bar to drink and vent. While they were talking, two women approached and asked to share their table. Hua Ming, observing two muscular men intently watching them, discreetly warned Xu Ke that something was amiss and instructed him to stay calm and follow his lead.
Hua Ming agreed to let the women join their table. Shortly after they sat down, the two muscular men stormed over. The women immediately turned on Hua Ming and Xu Ke, accusing them of harassing them and making them drink. One of the muscular men angrily approached Hua Ming. Hua Ming punched him, knocking him down.
Noticing the women quickly leaving, Hua Ming quietly told Xu Ke to take his phone and follow them, while he himself insisted on calling the police. Xu Ke followed the women, who rendezvoused with Liu Wei and received money from her. It became clear that Liu Wei had orchestrated the entire setup to have Hua Ming arrested and removed as an obstacle to Qin Gang and Wan Xinxin's remarriage.
Shocked by this discovery, Xu Ke called Wan Xinxin to inform her that Hua Ming had been detained after the bar fight, but Wan Xinxin, dismissive and angry, cut him off, stating she was getting her marriage certificate with Qin Gang the next day and telling them both to stop disturbing her. Later that night, Qin Gang arrived at Liu Wei's apartment, elated about his impending remarriage to Wan Xinxin.
Liu Wei confirmed Hua Ming's arrest, noting that the path was now clear for him. They discussed their future plans. Qin Gang promised to compensate Wan Xinxin financially after securing his inheritance, acknowledging she was caring for his child. However, Liu Wei expressed frustration over Qin Gang's current lack of career and financial independence, and Qin Gang himself admitted to feeling inferior and insecure in their relationship.
He reassured her of his love and commitment to building a better life together, free of worries, once his plans materialized, stating everything he did was for their future. Unable to convince Wan Xinxin, Xu Ke secretly climbed to her bedroom balcony at the Qin residence. He urged her to come with him, insisting she needed to see that Liu Wei had never left the country.
Wan Xinxin initially resisted, accusing Hua Ming of sending him and wanting them to stop interfering. Xu Ke, however, persisted, dragging her to Liu Wei's apartment. He banged on the door, and when Liu Wei opened it, he triumphantly shouted Qin Gang's name. Qin Gang, emerging in his pajamas, was stunned to see Xu Ke, who then revealed Wan Xinxin standing behind him. Wan Xinxin witnessed the scene firsthand, confirming Qin Gang's betrayal. She kicked Qin Gang and fled.
After being released from the police station, Hua Ming was informed of Wan Xinxin's disappearance and frantically began searching for her. He confronted Qin Gang at his home, accusing him of giving up the search easily. Qin Gang claimed he had asked everyone he knew but couldn't find her. Hua Ming, furious, warned Qin Gang that he would come back for him after finding Wan Xinxin.
Xu Ke also mobilized all his friends to help locate her, and he personally visited his sister, asking if Wan Xinxin had contacted her. She hadn't seen her either. With no leads, Xu Ke, along with his sister and friends, continued the desperate search for Wan Xinxin.
