Destiny's Love Episode 18 Recap
> Destiny's Love Recap
Wen Suxi expressed her gratitude to Duo La for stepping in to help with the filming. However, Duo La admitted she was only there for Chi Yu, jokingly stating, "I have to make him chase me first." Wen Suxi, intrigued by Chi Yu's charm, was momentarily captivated when she saw him changing clothes, which made her blush and hurry away.
Before filming began, Duo La discussed potential improvisations with Chi Yu, hoping he would cooperate and continue the emotional flow even after "cut." This interaction made Wen Suxi feel uneasy, as she overheard someone commenting on how good Chi Yu looked on camera and how well he matched Duo La.
During the actual shoot, as Chi Yu caught Duo La in a scene, Duo La attempted to kiss him, claiming her character, Lin Zimu, was an active girl who would give a first kiss when tempted. Wen Suxi immediately called "cut," criticizing Duo La for deviating from the script, especially for a campus youth sample film. When Duo La challenged her to demonstrate, Wen Suxi jumped into Chi Yu's arms herself, saying, "I've paid attention to you for long."
The two shared a deep, meaningful gaze, their eyes betraying their true feelings for each other. Next, a fight scene was filmed, which Chi Yu completed effortlessly. After wrapping up, Chi Yu informed Wen Suxi he was leaving with Hua Yecheng to find his aunt. Meanwhile, Wang Xiaomi noticed Dong Bai seemed lost and withdrawn after they parted ways. She discreetly followed him to a park, where she observed him playing Chinese chess and even square dancing with elderly people.
His strange behavior concerned her. Soon, Chi Yu and Hua Yecheng arrived. Hua Yecheng explained that Dong Bai's "energy collision" stemmed from his intense longing for his deceased grandpa, which caused him to hallucinate his grandpa's presence. They clarified that death is final and these are mere illusions, designed to allow him to find peace. As they helped Dong Bai to resolve his "energy collision" and accept his grandpa's passing, Wang Xiaomi secretly recorded the scene on her phone.
Hua Yecheng discovered her and, after the "energy collision" was resolved, attempted to erase her memories of their powers. However, Wang Xiaomi, anticipating this, cleverly wrote "destiny writer" on the back of her hand, determined not to forget what she had witnessed. On set, Lin Haoshu, who was filming behind-the-scenes footage, observed Wen Suxi's constant attention on Chi Yu. Duo La approached Chi Yu, reminding him of his unfulfilled promise to take her to an amusement park at night.
She emphasized the urgency, stating that life's greatest regrets are unsaid words and undone deeds, and she was moving to another film crew soon. Chi Yu agreed to "tomorrow night." Duo La then offered him a homemade lunchbox, but Chi Yu politely declined, saying he had already eaten. Unexpectedly, Hu Dongkai appeared and snatched the lunch, devouring it.
This led to a heated argument between Duo La and Hu Dongkai, with Duo La angrily calling him a "little wild dog" for eating Chi Yu's food. Wen Suxi intervened, reminding them they were on a professional set. At that moment, Wang Xiaomi arrived and pulled Chi Yu aside. She presented the video evidence she recorded and her hand-written note, demanding confirmation of his identity as a destiny writer. Chi Yu, cornered, tacitly admitted it.
Thrilled, Wang Xiaomi bowed, hoping he would accept her as his disciple and simplify her complicated love life, especially her unrequited feelings for a man who loves someone else. Chi Yu gently refused, telling her that her own destiny was for her to rewrite. Wen Suxi, seeing so many girls clinging to Chi Yu, felt a little jealous.
Lin Haoshu, overhearing, tried to lecture Wang Xiaomi about her "three-minute enthusiasm," but she retorted that she was loyal and "from beginning to end." Later, Tang Mao visited Cai Shumeng at a bar, apologizing for missing their earlier engagement. He tried to dissuade her from causing further trouble for Wen Suxi. Cai Shumeng, bitter and resentful, retorted that he still cared for Wen Suxi, despite her not loving him.
She pointed out that she had dedicated years to him, even becoming a producer for him. Tang Mao dismissed her sacrifices, stating he never asked for them and wouldn't be grateful. Cai Shumeng then intentionally provoked Tang Mao by revealing that Wen Suxi and Chi Yu were getting along "very well" and happily filming together, suggesting that Wen Suxi’s project would surely succeed despite the directorial change.
After filming concluded, Duo La's ride was hijacked by Hu Dongkai, who questioned if she liked Chi Yu. Duo La candidly admitted her feelings, leaving Hu Dongkai visibly heartbroken. As rain suddenly poured down, Wen Suxi and Chi Yu rushed to help crew members gather equipment. They carried some costumes into a clothes car, but the door accidentally shut, trapping them inside. In the darkness, Wen Suxi found a prop light and frantically knocked on the door, calling for help.
Chi Yu silently watched her. When Wen Suxi’s phone died, she asked Chi Yu for his, but he claimed he hadn't brought it. Just then, Duo La's text message flashed on his phone, exposing his lie. Wen Suxi inadvertently saw the message, which read, "Looking forward to tomorrow night," making her instantly jealous. She began to argue with Chi Yu, who seized the opportunity to slowly close the distance, pinning her against the wall in front of him.
He gently refuted her claims about their lack of resemblance, pointing out that while their physical features differed, their temperaments were similar, and crucially, their eyes held the same sparkle. He vowed to remember that moment, because from then on, whenever he looked at the starry sky, he would see her eyes.
