Since Fu Chengjin's departure, Fu Yunnuo had completely descended into madness. The emperor summoned him to the palace to discuss who to send to the frontier to fight. Fu Yunnuo recommended someone, but the emperor did not believe this candidate was suitable. Fu Yunnuo lost control on the spot, claiming the emperor was always autocratic and never considered his feelings, never truly cared about him. This was the first time Fu Yunnuo had openly defied his father.
The imperial consort, standing by, kept signaling him to stop talking, but Fu Yunnuo ignored her completely. After leaving the palace, the imperial consort called Fu Yunnuo to her chambers and harshly reprimanded him, saying she had worked so hard planning everything for him and always endured before the emperor for his sake. Fu Yunnuo grew increasingly annoyed and directly ordered his men to confine the consort.
He believed she had been bewitched by Fu Chengjin, whom she had secretly met, and that the two had colluded to kill Qiao Manman. Though she claimed everything she did was for his benefit, in reality, she had only pushed him to succeed since childhood, never played with him, and only scolded or beat him. Fu Chengjin suggested he propose to A Li Ya, but Ji Mo refused to take advantage of her amnesia. Upon hearing that Ji Mo was hesitant because of their status difference, she was troubled. She truly liked Ji Mo, but didn’t want this issue to hinder her marriage. A Li Ya decided to pretend she had regained her memory, so that Ji Mo would feel secure. The group planned an outing. Jiutian and Yue Tao also joined. The weather was beautiful—two fluffy, cotton-candy-like clouds floated in the blue sky. The scenery and mood were lovely.
Fu Chengjin picked many fresh flowers for Qiao Manman, and everyone was very happy. While Qiao Manman was speaking with Ji Mo, Fu Chengjin quickly demonstrated to A Li Ya how to fake bumping into a tree and then pretend to recover her memory. But A Li Ya actually fainted for real. According to Fu Chengjin’s plan, she was supposed to regain her memory shortly after and he would then propose to Qiao Manman.
But Ji Mo panicked upon seeing A Li Ya injured and immediately carried her back for treatment. Later, A Li Ya regained consciousness and deliberately declared that she had recovered her memory and was willing to marry Ji Mo. Ji Mo was thrilled and quickly gave her the family heirloom passed down from his mother. A Li Ya confided in Qiao Manman that she had faked her memory loss and urged her to take initiative as a woman. Since Fu Chengjin was so deeply in love with her, she should just go ahead and propose. The two embraced happily.
