Delicious Romance Episode 8 Recap
> Delicious Romance Recap
Nightclubs serve as a unique escape for many adults, offering a dark, noisy, and chaotic environment where people can shed their usual inhibitions and express themselves freely. Lao Gao, a regular at such establishments, enlightened Fang Xin and Xia Meng about the various types of people who frequent nightclubs, including those looking to "fish" for dates. He pointed out that Zhang Ting's girlfriend appeared to be one such person.
Fang Xin was initially hesitant to send a picture of her to Zhang Ting, fearing she might be misjudging her. Xia Meng, however, took Fang Xin's phone and sent the picture to Zhang Ting, urging him to pick up his girlfriend. To prove his point, Lao Gao enlisted Song Chao for an "experiment." Song Chao was reluctant, preoccupied with concerns about Liu Jing and Shanmu, whom he was playing Truth or Dare with.
However, Xia Meng and Fang Xin, as Liu Jing's closest friends, quickly convinced him by asserting their influence over Liu Jing's perception of him. Cooperating, Song Chao approached Zhang Ting's girlfriend, subtly displaying his expensive watch. As predicted, she became much more interested, but Song Chao, uninterested, quickly excused himself. Lao Gao highlighted this interaction as clear evidence of her "fishing" intentions. Lao Gao was then called away by some women.
Meanwhile, Fang Xin was unexpectedly called away to assist inside the venue, which involved drinking with some clients, including Mr. Zhao. Xia Meng, observing Lu Bin and his friends drinking heavily, felt a growing discomfort. She inadvertently took a sip from someone else's drink before deciding she'd seen enough. She then went to speak with Lu Bin about something important. At their booth, Liu Jing was eating fruit while Shanmu gazed at her intently, seeming a bit intoxicated.
He told her he had received her WeChat messages and seen the retracted ones, stating he wanted to explain them in person and reaching for her hand. His attempt was abruptly interrupted by Song Chao, who wedged himself between them and suggested continuing their game of "Truth or Dare."
When Liu Jing felt excluded because they didn't ask her a question and prepared to leave, Song Chao included her by posing a hypothetical question: if they were the only three on a deserted island, who would she choose to spend the rest of her life with? Liu Jing immediately declared she wouldn't choose Song Chao because he was too loud, and then she called Shanmu a "jerk," preferring to remain alone.
Shanmu, however, found her rejection of Song Chao amusing. Song Chao then turned the question to Shanmu, asking if there was a girl he liked in the room. Shanmu looked directly at Liu Jing, affirming there was, describing her as "very pretty" and "present." Before he could reveal her identity, Jia Wenyi arrived, pulling him away to prepare for her speech, leaving Liu Jing noticeably disheartened. Song Chao, feeling unwell, quietly excused himself to the restroom.
Upon returning, Song Chao saw Fang Xin being pressured to drink by Mr. Zhao. He swiftly intervened, attempting to extricate her by claiming his table needed twelve bottles of champagne. When Mr. Zhao persisted, Fang Xin then claimed Song Chao was her boyfriend, which finally allowed her to leave the situation. However, no sooner was Fang Xin free than Zhang Ting's girlfriend approached Song Chao.
She asked to borrow his phone, pretending hers was dead, saved her number in it, and then insisted on dancing with him. Back at the booth, the champagne Song Chao ordered arrived. With Song Chao gone, Liu Jing and Shanmu were left alone, sharing a charged, slightly awkward moment. Shanmu had previously tried to explain the retracted messages, which Liu Jing had dismissed as a drunken mistake. Outside, Zhang Ting arrived at the nightclub.
He spotted a man trying to force a woman into a taxi to a hotel and heroically intervened, leading to security questioning the man. Inside, Fang Xin, who had already seen Zhang Ting's girlfriend clinging to Song Chao, received a call from Zhang Ting informing her of his arrival. This prompted Fang Xin to rush even more urgently to separate Song Chao from Zhang Ting's girlfriend.
As the nightclub lights dimmed for Jia Wenyi's speech, Zhang Ting's girlfriend, still clinging to Song Chao, was accidentally pushed. Zhang Ting, witnessing this, immediately attacked Song Chao. Zhang Ting confronted his girlfriend, who he thought was asleep, demanding to know why she was there. She shot back that he was also out partying. Zhang Ting revealed that Fang Xin had told him his girlfriend was drunk, prompting him to come pick her up.
Enraged, Zhang Ting's girlfriend vented her frustration at Fang Xin and dramatically declared her breakup with Zhang Ting. A staff member then quickly ushered Fang Xin away. After the brawl, Liu Jing tended to Song Chao's injuries, cleaning his wounds while Shanmu offered a wet wipe. Fang Xin, feeling apologetic for the evening's "disaster," offered to treat everyone to a late-night snack. Liu Jing, citing exhaustion, declined.
Xia Meng, who said she felt unwell and was probably angry at Lu Bin, had already left. Later, while Song Chao, Liu Jing, and Fang Xin were eating at a brain shop, Zhang Ting's ex-girlfriend messaged Song Chao. She apologized for misjudging him earlier and revealed that she had claimed to be single because Zhang Ting had violent tendencies and had previously been to prison. Meanwhile, Lu Bin drove Xia Meng home.
He asked if she was upset, clarifying that his earlier interaction with Fang Xin was an attempt to learn more about her, and apologized if his friends' jokes had made her uncomfortable. Xia Meng initially asked him to leave, but then called him back, intending to confess something. Lu Bin, however, preempted her by kissing her, which she reciprocated.
He then told her he had been attracted to her since the first day she joined the gym, emphasizing his honesty and dislike for lies. This stopped Xia Meng from revealing what she had intended to explain. They said their goodnights, with Lu Bin affectionately calling her "Rocky."
