Qi Yuanbao struggled to style her hair, trying to embody a cultured, graceful, gentle, and lovely image, yet found the task daunting, lamenting the difficulties of being a woman. Her father entered, inquiring about her worries, and affectionately helped her by placing a simple and unadorned hairpin in her hair, reminiscing about doing the same for her late mother. He then asked if she had someone special in her heart before steering the conversation towards Changyue.

Qi Yuanbao defended Changyue, insisting he was genuinely kind and harbored no ill will, contrary to Huo Shuyai's warnings. Her father, however, cautioned her, calling her naive and suggesting Changyue might have ulterior motives. Qi Yuanbao dismissed his concerns, questioning what Changyue could possibly want from her, and confidently declared that Changyue would never betray her trust. She reassured her father that she was capable of protecting herself.

Meanwhile, Changyue was left in contemplation, troubled by Qi Yuanbao’s father’s words, who had firmly demanded he leave and emphasized that Qi Yuanbao and Huo Shuyai were destined for a harmonious and happy life together and that he would soon marry Yuanbao to Shuyai. Unaware of this, Qi Yuanbao, hoping to capture Changyue’s affection, dressed up carefully, wondering if he would appreciate her effort. When Changyue appeared, she became shy, fiddling with her hair.

He complimented her, noting her especially cute and gentle demeanor that day. Delighted, Qi Yuanbao seized the opportunity to ask if he was free. She suggested showing him "all the facets of life" in the human world, given his unique identity. In her excitement, she blurted out, "Don’t say no," before quickly correcting herself and adopting a more demure, ladylike posture.

Changyue then accompanied Qi Yuanbao to a place where poetry was being recited, but noticing her boredom with the verses, he suggested they go elsewhere. When asked where, he proposed a casino. Initially hesitant about the impropriety, Qi Yuanbao's adventurous spirit took over, and she excitedly ushered people aside to make room for her "Master." Changyue proved to be an exceptionally skilled gambler, winning consistently and astonishing Qi Yuanbao.

Overjoyed by their winnings, which made her feel as though she had reached the peak of her life, Qi Yuanbao decided to treat Changyue to dinner. Changyue dotingly touched Qi Yuanbao's forehead. At a bustling food stall, as plates of grilled pig lungs, lamb kidneys, pig intestines, and ox whip were served, Qi Yuanbao momentarily held back from eating the skewers, remembering her resolve to maintain a ladylike image.

She claimed she "never touched such things," but when Changyue admitted his fondness for them, she eagerly joined in, quickly devouring the food as he gently advised her not to choke. Over dinner, Qi Yuanbao inquired about Changyue’s home in Beiming, which she noted was far from Beixuan City, and joked about the exotic diet of lizards, frogs, and insects there, concluding that human cuisine was far superior. She then directly asked why he had come to Beixuan City.

Changyue revealed he had "left something here" and was close to retrieving it. This confession led Qi Yuanbao to anxiously ask if he would return to Beiming once his task was complete, to which he confirmed he would. Pressing further, she asked if he would ever come back after his return. Changyue responded, "If you want me to return, I will come back." Qi Yuanbao instantly affirmed her desire for his return.

She then brought up the upcoming Qiqiao Festival, initially suggesting he invite his "beloved one" to view the lanterns. However, a moment of self-doubt made her worry about being "looked down upon" for such forwardness. But she quickly changed her mind, declaring that one should be "courageous and go after them" when in love, regardless of "worldly opinions." Taking the initiative, she then asked Changyue if he had plans for the following night.

When he said no, and she confessed she also had no plans, she directly invited him to the lantern festival. Sensing her own eagerness, she awkwardly tried to clarify her intentions, but Changyue simply agreed. Meanwhile, Qi Yuanbao bought some candy for Huo Shuyai, leaving it at his door with an implied note to sweeten his medicine.

Huo Shuyai discovered the candy and was deeply moved, believing it meant he was still important in her heart, and he savored the sweet treat. With the Qiqiao Festival approaching, Qi Yuanbao, determined to confess her feelings to Changyue, sought advice from her senior brothers on how to pursue a man. Despite their reassurances about her past romantic conquests, she explained that Changyue was different—an innocent, pure, and perfect gentleman.

Her brothers offered various suggestions: one pair demonstrated cheesy pickup lines, which Qi Yuanbao dismissed as "too cheesy." Another brother proposed a more refined, poetic confession, but Qi Yuanbao found it "oily" and too straightforward. A third suggested showering Changyue with gifts and treats, aiming to make him infatuated, but Qi Yuanbao worried about being valued only for material possessions, especially after a blunt comment from another brother questioning what else she had to offer. Annoyed, she rejected these ideas.

Finally, a senior brother mysteriously advised her to take Changyue to an inn and handed her a book, his "lifelong masterpiece," instructing her to study it later. However, a quick peek at its contents later left Qi Yuanbao exclaiming it was "unbearable" and she immediately put it away. Elsewhere, Su Qianqian found Xue Hanyu engrossed in a cricket fight and demanded he meet her that night at Xu hour outside Qishan Gate. Xue Hanyu found her behavior "so strange."

Unbeknownst to them, a junior brother frantically reported to a Master that Sect Master Su and Sect Master Huo had arrived with dire news: all cultivators who ventured to Fractured Moon Mountain had been killed by a "fox demon." Meanwhile, Qi Yuanbao, filled with anticipation for the Qiqiao Festival, fantasized about confessing her feelings to Changyue. She met Changyue and presented him with a gift, which turned out to be two performance tickets, suggesting they watch together.

She playfully dismissed anyone else who might want to join them. As they settled into their seats, Qi Yuanbao was determined to confess her feelings. She mentally rehearsed several cheesy pickup lines and a "too forward" approach, ultimately discarding them. She then tried to deliver a heartfelt confession, but her words were completely drowned out by the enthusiastic cheers from the audience for the "true star" performer.

Elsewhere, Su Qianqian, holding a carefully stitched sachet, debated whether to give it to Xue Hanyu. He playfully snatched it, refusing to return it until she explained why she had been angry when he previously gave her a comb. She simply replied that he wouldn't understand. After a brief chase, he returned the sachet, and they decided to go watch a play, with a shop owner wishing them a harmonious and happy life together.

Around the same time, Huo Shuyai was seen purchasing a love lantern, on which he carefully wrote, "Yuan Bao, wait for me," hoping to express his unspoken feelings. Back at the performance, a frustrated Qi Yuanbao wondered if Changyue had heard her earlier attempt. Preparing to try again, she was gently told by Changyue to "stay calm." Disappointed but accepting, she decided against another confession, only for Changyue to suddenly turn and kiss her.
