A flashback reveals Lu Xun's journey to uncovering Lin Chen's identity. One month before the dating show's filming, he discovered photos of Lin Chen volunteering at the Seven Ravine Shelter for Stray Animals, learning her name was an alias. Ten days before the show, during a company meeting about the "Three Day Lovers" dating program, Lu Xun recognized her on screen. His subordinate identified her by her stage name, Lin Wan, a minor artist with only one advertisement.
The flashback culminates on the day of filming when Lin Wan asks him when he found out her true identity, and he replies that he has known all along. The scene then returns to the present, where Lu Xun is rescuing Lin Wan from a dangerous dinner with President Liu. He decisively dismisses the men who put her in jeopardy, telling them to "Get out" and not let him see them again, before carrying the intoxicated Lin Wan away.
The next morning, Lin Wan woke up with a throbbing headache, feeling disoriented. It was the first time she had ever consumed so much alcohol. Jiao Jie, who was with her, expressed her anger at President Liu for making them drink excessively the night before and confiscating their phones. Jiao Jie worried about what could have happened, though she assured Lin Wan that she herself was fine.
Lin Wan struggled to recall the night's events, only vaguely remembering Lu Xun coming to save her and wondering what else transpired. Jiao Jie jokingly remarked on Lin Wan's amnesia. Suddenly, there was a frantic knocking at their door. When Jiao Jie opened it, Liu Yan walked in. Liu Yan silently presented a "Thanks" note to Lin Wan, then verbally stated they could let bygones be bygones and she wouldn't stab Lin Wan in the back anymore.
However, she quickly added a caveat, declaring her continued hatred for Lin Wan and vowing to ruin her career if she ever found any compromising information. Lin Wan calmly responded that she expected nothing less. Jiao Jie, however, found Liu Yan's behavior annoying. Later that morning, as Lin Wan was preparing for another interview at a cafe, she encountered Lu Xun.
He observed her looking nauseous, prompting a playful exchange about their "coincidental" meeting at his hotel, where they were both filming the dating show. Lin Wan thanked him for coming to look for her the previous night, trying to piece together her memories. She speculated if he was pressing her for money, admitting her mind was blank about anything else.
Lu Xun, noting her struggle, said it was fine if she had forgotten, but Lin Wan insisted he repeat what he said, frustrated by his reticence. During her interview at the cafe, a woman suddenly burst in, loudly accusing Lin Wan of being a mistress. The woman, who turned out to be President Liu's wife, presented a photograph as "proof" and publicly defamed Lin Wan, claiming she used dishonest methods to get roles.
Lin Wan attempted to defend herself, explaining that President Liu had tricked them into the dinner and confiscated their phones to take advantage of them. The woman, however, dismissed her claims, pointing to the photo and suggesting Lin Wan didn't look reluctant. Lin Wan mentioned Liu Yan as a witness, but a staff member reported that Liu Yan was feeling unwell and couldn't confirm anything.
Meanwhile, Liu Yan, advised by her manager, chose not to get involved, fearing it would ruin her own career. Back at the cafe, the public started to gossip, with "Lin Wan turns out to be a mistress" quickly becoming a trending topic. Jiao Jie urged Lin Wan to leave, but Lin Wan refused, unwilling to appear guilty by running away. As the situation escalated and no one was willing to speak up for Lin Wan, Lu Xun stepped forward.
He calmly stated that he was also present at the dinner, explaining that President Liu had gotten drunk and harassed Miss Lin. When President Liu's wife claimed her husband said Lu Xun wasn't there, Lu Xun countered that it was simply two conflicting accounts. The wife then accused Lu Xun of fabricating his story to avoid implication, given his connection to Lin Wan through the dating show and his presence at the hotel. In a dramatic declaration that silenced the crowd, Lu Xun finally revealed his true motive: "It's because she is my girlfriend."
