Lu Xun informed Lin Wan that he would consider renewing her contract. At that moment, Liu Yan approached Lin Wan, demanding that Lin Wan choose Liu Mo as her partner for the upcoming three-day round, so Liu Yan could partner with Lu Xun. When Lin Wan expressed her unwillingness, bringing up a past incident involving a voice recording, Liu Yan quickly escalated her offer from 200,000 to 500,000, and finally to 1,000,000 for Lin Wan to agree.
Meanwhile, Lu Xun was confident that Lin Wan would not choose to swap partners. However, when he saw that Lin Wan had not picked him, he angrily told his brother that he would no longer participate in the reality show. His brother expressed frustration, reminding Lu Xun of the company's investment in promoting him for the dating show. When Jiao Jie learned that Lin Wan had not chosen Lu Xun, she was initially upset, worrying about Liu Yan's intentions.
Lin Wan then revealed Liu Yan's substantial payment of 1,000,000. Lin Wan explained that a portion of this money would cover Lu Xun's contract renewal, leaving a significant balance that could be used for medical expenses. As Lu Xun prepared to leave the show, his brother's words made him reconsider. The production team then informed Lin Wan that Liu Mo had suffered a leg injury and would be absent.
They instructed Lin Wan to join Lu Xun and Liu Yan's group to create more drama, but Lin Wan privately worried about interacting with Lu Xun since she hadn't received the full payment from Liu Yan. Despite this, Lin Wan appeared at the filming location, unexpectedly bringing her high school classmate, Zheng Ziyan, who was now a successful dentist. Zheng Ziyan recognized Lu Xun, playfully recalling their rivalry as the top two students in high school.
Ignoring the director's initial protest, Lin Wan invited Zheng Ziyan to partner with her, much to Lu Xun's visible displeasure. Zheng Ziyan remarked that Lu Xun still had the same scowl as in high school. During the tiramisu baking challenge, Liu Yan attempted to interact with Lu Xun by feigning difficulty with math, but he curtly dismissed her, suggesting she use a calculator.
When Liu Yan realized their team lacked cinnamon powder and asked Lu Xun for some, he flatly refused. Zheng Ziyan, however, provided some to Lin Wan. Zheng Ziyan also noticed the production team's deliberate uneven distribution of ingredients, noting that only Lu Xun's side had milk. Once the cakes were finished, Lu Xun offered a piece to Lin Wan.
Remembering that she was allergic to chocolate, he quickly leaned in and ate the chocolate off the cake near her mouth, to her surprise. He then subtly reminded her that she used to love chocolate the most.
