> Confess Your Love Recap

Zheng Ziyan confided in Lin Chen about a long-held secret: he has been deeply in love with a girl since high school, a fact she remains completely oblivious to. He explained his reluctance to confess, fearing that a declaration of love would not only jeopardize their friendship but also erase his presence from her life. Therefore, he meticulously guarded his feelings, dreading the possibility of an early, unfavorable answer.

He even revealed that he had purchased a shop with the intention of running it with her someday. Lin Chen, however, was more surprised by Zheng Ziyan's financial capacity to buy a shop so soon after starting his career, jokingly asking if she should have pursued dentistry instead.

As Zheng Ziyan prepared to elaborate further, Lin Chen playfully tried to guess the girl's identity, mentioning Du Xiaojing and Lin Yumeng, prompting Zheng Ziyan to hint that the person was someone she might not expect. At that moment, Lu Xun unexpectedly arrived at the clinic. When questioned by Lin Chen about his presence, Lu Xun claimed he had a toothache and had merely stopped by, feigning ignorance that it was Zheng Ziyan's clinic.

Zheng Ziyan, however, saw through his pretense and openly accused him of having ulterior motives. Despite the underlying tension, the three found themselves sharing drinks. A business associate, President Zhang, briefly joined them, leading to a competitive display between Lu Xun and Zheng Ziyan as they vied to toast on Lin Chen's behalf.

During their exchange, Zheng Ziyan sarcastically remarked on Lu Xun's supposed toothache, while Lu Xun retorted by reminding him that the property housing Zheng Ziyan's clinic was owned by SW, Lu Xun's company. The drinking escalated into a rivalry, and soon both Lu Xun and Zheng Ziyan were visibly inebriated. Lin Chen noticed their heavy drinking and offered to get them water, but Lu Xun stopped her, insisting he had something crucial to tell her.

Zheng Ziyan immediately intervened, attempting to lead Lin Chen away and challenging Lu Xun's right to detain her. Amidst the rising emotions, Lu Xun, under the influence of alcohol, began to reveal his long-hidden feelings to Lin Chen. He spoke of their impending engagement ceremony, acknowledging that it felt like a grand facade. He expressed his confusion over a blank letter sent six years prior and, in a moment of raw vulnerability, asked Lin Chen to hate him.

He confessed his fear of seeking answers, worried that the truth might shatter all his carefully constructed excuses. He admitted his strategy was to slowly draw closer to her, perpetually delaying what might truly happen between them, all because he was terrified that her love might not mirror the intensity of his own. As they were about to leave, Lu Xun forcefully kissed Lin Chen.

Immediately following the kiss, in a perplexing turn, he uttered, "I'm sorry, I really don't love you." With Zheng Ziyan having stepped away, Lin Chen dismissed Lu Xun's contradictory statement. She then pressed him about the blank letter he had mentioned, to which Lu Xun confirmed it had indeed been empty. Finding his actions foolish, Lin Chen remarked on his absurdity.

Lu Xun explained that his outburst was because he believed he had finally received his answer—that the person she truly loved was not him. Lin Chen, however, admitted that seeing Lu Xun's "silly expression" had been quite satisfying. Zheng Ziyan then reappeared, surprised to find Lu Xun still there and offering to "give them a hand."

He attempted to confess his feelings to Lin Chen, but both Lin Chen and Lu Xun immediately cut him off, telling him not to speak. The scene concludes with a series of flashbacks depicting Lu Xun and Lin Chen's earliest interactions, including their first meeting, his clumsy attempt to ask her to a movie, and her offering him a cake.
