She claims that the real Lin Wan was hospitalized after an accident on the first day of filming, and that Lin Chen has been impersonating her ever since to keep the show going. Lu Xun stands up to defend Lin Chen, warning Liu Yan about the consequences of public slander. Unfazed, Liu Yan projects a video onto the big screen showing the real Lin Wan lying unconscious in a hospital bed.
She challenges Lin Chen to prove her identity by making a live video call to her supposedly comatose sister. The audience, now in an uproar, begins chanting for her to make the call. Under immense pressure, Lin Chen makes the call, which is displayed on the screen for everyone to see. To Liu Yan's disbelief, the call connects to a woman who looks exactly like Lin Chen. Liu Yan reads from the contract, explaining to the furious fans that their beloved couple was a sham from the start—a business arrangement for Lin Wan to gain fame and for Lu Xun to promote his hotel. The situation spirals out of control as news of the contract spreads online, damaging the reputation of Lu Xun's company.
His PR team advises him to remain silent, but Lu Xun decides to face the crowd. He walks back to the stage and takes the microphone, stunning everyone by admitting that the contract is real. He explains that they initially signed it to protect their mutual interests for a show centered on fake relationships. However, he continues, the contract couldn't contain their genuine feelings for one another, and their fake relationship became real. To prove his sincerity and give everyone a definitive answer, Lu Xun turns to a shocked Lin Chen and publicly proposes, asking her if she will become Mrs. Lu.
