Be My Princess Episode 27 Recap
> Be My Princess Recap
In their childhood, a young Ming Wei and Ming Qiao stood before a poster of Mu Tingzhou, each holding a lollipop. Ming Qiao declared her dream to become an actress, act alongside Mu Tingzhou, and even marry him so he would buy her delicious food daily. She enthusiastically promised to get his autograph and multiple photos for her sister. Sensing a change in Mu Tingzhou, Xiao Zhao asked him if he had recovered his memories.
Mu Tingzhou confessed that during the filming of a pivotal death scene, his memories flooded back. He vividly recalled meeting Ming Wei, filming "The Grand Chief Cabinet Minister," and realizing he had already fallen in love with her back then. Xiao Zhao was overjoyed by the news. Mu Tingzhou was determined to tell Ming Wei everything, confident she would forgive him.
However, Xiao Zhao argued against it, pointing out that Mu Tingzhou had pursued Ming Wei as the amnesiac Grand Tutor, broke up with her upon regaining his memories, and now wanted to reconcile for the very reason he left her. Xiao Zhao, as her brother, disapproved, feeling it was toying with her emotions. Undeterred, Mu Tingzhou resolved to win her back. The two made a bet: whoever successfully reconciled with their girlfriend first would get one wish from the loser.
In the following days, Mu Tingzhou frequently visited Ming Wei's home under the pretense of watering her plants. He openly declared his intention to pursue her, but Ming Wei was hesitant, expressing that she was tired and unwilling to re-enter such a complex relationship. Despite her reservations, Mu Tingzhou's actions began to mirror the Grand Tutor's. He brought her favorite foods, a specific facial cleanser, and small pastries he attempted to make.
He also began waiting outside her home to drive her to the set, just as the Grand Tutor had. These gestures made Ming Wei increasingly suspicious. Meanwhile, Xiao Zhao’s attempts to win back Ming Qiao were met with indifference. Desperate, he enlisted Mu Tingzhou's help to feign being drunk and heartbroken. Mu Tingzhou called Ming Qiao, who rushed to the scene. However, their plan was unintentionally foiled by an acquaintance who remarked that he had never seen Xiao Zhao drunk.
Enraged by the deception, Ming Qiao stormed off despite Xiao Zhao’s frantic apologies. Witnessing this, Ming Wei confronted Mu Tingzhou for his role in the scheme. He admitted that, like Xiao Zhao, he was simply "grasping at straws." Later, Mu Tingzhou planned a fireworks surprise for Ming Wei. He placed an invitation card in a coat he believed was hers.
He and Xiao Zhao waited, but to his dismay, Ming Qiao arrived, revealing that Ming Wei had borrowed her coat that day. Believing the romantic gesture was from Xiao Zhao, Ming Qiao was deeply touched by the fireworks and the message on the card. She playfully agreed to give Xiao Zhao another chance, warning it was his last. As the dejected Mu Tingzhou lamented his bad luck, Xiao Zhao called Ming Wei to come and comfort him.
Realizing the mix-up, Ming Qiao playfully challenged Xiao Zhao to properly pursue her until she was satisfied, a challenge he eagerly accepted. When Ming Wei arrived, Mu Tingzhou delivered a heartfelt confession. He explained that while he might be a great actor, his feelings for her were entirely genuine.
He acknowledged that he had first fallen for her as the Grand Tutor, but now, as Mu Tingzhou, he was falling in love with her all over again, believing it to be destiny. Admitting his past mistakes and emotional shortcomings, he promised to change and wait for her. Ming Wei told him she would seriously consider it. Elsewhere, Xu Lin decided to return to the UK to complete her studies.
She shared a moment with Mu Tingzhou, who reassured her she would find her own happiness. Speaking alone with Ming Wei, Xu Lin sincerely apologized for her past actions. She confessed that while they were biological sisters, she wasn't ready to fully accept their relationship or bless her and Mu Tingzhou, suggesting they leave it to time. It was the first peaceful conversation they ever had.
The final scene for "The Butterfly Lovers" was filmed, with Ming Wei's character taking poison to join her love in death, her thoughts drifting to the Grand Tutor. After filming wrapped, Mu Tingzhou rushed to find her, only for Xiao Zhao to inform him she had already left. Xiao Zhao admitted Ming Qiao had asked him not to say anything, playfully reminding Mu Tingzhou that he was on track to win their bet.
Shortly after, Auntie Zhao visited Ming Wei, bringing a potted plant she explained the Grand Tutor had entrusted to her care. Her main reason for visiting, however, was to give Ming Wei the Grand Tutor's old phone. It had been broken in the car accident but was now repaired.
Auntie Zhao explained that since the Grand Tutor persona refused to use Mu Tingzhou's phone, she had kept the old one for him and felt it was time Ming Wei saw its contents. Ming Wei hesitated, feeling it would be inappropriate to pry into his private device.
