As border conflicts persisted for years, leaving countless people displaced and destitute, the Grand Tutor volunteered for a transfer to the border to help. In the palace, Princess Ming Hua gazed at the moon, lost in thought. In an elevator, actor Mu Tingzhou told his new co-star Ming Wei he could consider teaching her acting, but first, he needed to see her sincerity.

As he leaned closer, Ming Wei, recalling her sister's warning about "unspoken rules" on set, feared the worst. Thinking fast, she declared that a good actor's sincerity lies in diligent preparation, deep character understanding, and creating chemistry with co-stars. Pleased, Mu Tingzhou gave her one day to prove her worth, warning that failure would mean being replaced and blacklisted from the industry.

Feeling immense pressure, Ming Wei, who had never acted before, returned home to practice, frustrated by her arrogant co-star. Meanwhile, Mu Tingzhou also meticulously practiced his lines before enjoying a tranquil evening with incense and meditation. The next morning, Ming Wei hurried to the set, only to find Mu Tingzhou already in the makeup room. Her first scene was a disaster, with repeated takes due to her missing her marks.

The director grew furious, and a stressed Ming Wei apologized profusely. The director confronted Mu Tingzhou, who had recommended her, about the delays. Mu Tingzhou took responsibility and requested one more chance for them to adapt to each other. During a break, Ming Wei hid in a corner, crying. Actor Chen Zhang approached to comfort her, sharing an embarrassing anecdote from his first role where he mixed up his lines, which made her laugh.

He reassured her that nervousness is normal and that her subtle expressions were good; she just needed to relax. His encouragement lifted Ming Wei's spirits. That night, Ming Wei sought out Mu Tingzhou. After being denied his contact information by his agent, Xiao Zhao, she confronted him directly. She asked if he approved of her acting, and he candidly said no. As she prepared to quit, Mu Tingzhou surprised her by offering to be her acting coach.

He acknowledged her raw talent and dedication, believing she could succeed with guidance. Overjoyed, Ming Wei accepted. He assigned her homework: to analyze the next day's scenes every night, delving into her character and others, and write down her interpretations for her own benefit. Their next scene, set in a vibrant garden, was a success. Princess Ming Hua playfully chased a butterfly until Grand Tutor Mu Yun appeared.

The pampered princess blamed him for scaring it away, but he calmly stated that a eunuch was the culprit. Just then, the butterfly landed on the princess’s head, and Mu Yun gently caught it for her. The director’s praise for the scene was a huge encouragement for Ming Wei, who then used every break to study her script and seek guidance from Mu Tingzhou. As Mu Yun tutored Princess Ming Hua in "The Book of Rites," they grew inseparable.

To convince him to take her to the Firework Festival, she argued that a princess ignorant of her people's lives couldn't be their role model. He agreed, and they later slipped away from their escorts to enjoy the festival, where he playfully reminded her when she "transgressed the bounds of decency." Realizing he had developed feelings for the princess, Mu Yun requested a transfer to the northern border to maintain his duty.

As he departed, Princess Ming Hua intercepted his carriage, demanding to know why he was leaving without a word. She tried to give him her scent bag, but he coldly refused, stating she was merely his student and that he never intended to return. Despite his harsh words, his heart ached. Ming Wei’s portrayal of the princess's hurt and indignation earned high praise from the director.

Later, Cheng Yao, one of the drama's investors and Ming Wei's cheating ex-boyfriend, visited the set. Ming Wei reacted coldly, and Chen Zhang warned her that Cheng Yao has a reputation for investing in shows just to pursue actresses. Cheng Yao then messaged Ming Wei, inviting her to dinner and implying he would explain why she was cast as the female lead.

Meanwhile, Mu Tingzhou’s agent, Xiao Zhao, questioned how Ming Wei knew his room number, which Mu Tingzhou brushed off. During lunch, Chen Zhang joined Ming Wei, teasing that her on-screen "consort," Mu Tingzhou, might be developing real feelings for her, a notion she quickly dismissed. When Xiao Zhao later expressed concern that investors might harass Ming Wei at an evening banquet, Mu Tingzhou remained indifferent. At the banquet, investors flocked to praise Ming Wei. Cheng Yao approached her, remarking on her beauty and reiterating his promise to talk.
