Tan Jing discovered an email from Zhu Zhaohui in a company computer, the subject line bearing her name. She learned that Zhu Zhaohui had reported her to headquarters for repeated tardiness, early departures, and embezzlement of public funds, specifically for the cake money she had covered for Liang Yuanan. The email, however, omitted the full details of the cake incident and recommended her termination.

Tan Jing realized Zhu Zhaohui’s actions were a betrayal, especially since he had used her previously written English explanation letter to secure his own promotion. Feeling that he had ungratefully turned against her, she decided to fight back by sending an English email directly to Sheng Fangting, detailing the true circumstances and trusting him to see the truth.

Later that night, after her son, Sun Ping, had fallen asleep, Tan Jing reviewed the professional academic documents Nie Yusheng had sent her regarding Sun Ping's surgery. The documents outlined the surgical conditions and risks, including a partial subsidy from a medical equipment company. However, as she read further, a growing unease settled over her. She realized the surgery would involve a brand new bioprosthetic valve, with unknown biological effects and lifespan, carrying risks different from traditional procedures.

Feeling helpless and alone, she wondered how she could make such a weighty decision without anyone to consult. Unexpectedly, Sheng Fangting contacted Tan Jing by phone, expressing surprise at her email and inviting her to meet him at the company headquarters. She readily agreed, making arrangements for her friend Ling to look after Sun Ping. During their meeting, Sheng Fangting asked Tan Jing why she took full responsibility for the cake incident.

She explained that Liang Yuanan was her friend who had helped her during her most difficult times, and that as a cake decorator, he risked being blacklisted from the industry if fired, whereas her cashier job was easier to replace. Sheng Fangting pointed out that she had committed a significant workplace taboo by shouldering all the blame and using friendship to justify breaking rules. He then asked her to read an English article, impressed by her accurate pronunciation.

Curious, he asked why someone with her English proficiency was working as a cashier, suggesting she was capable of a better position. Tan Jing revealed that she dropped out of foreign language college in her third year due to a family emergency and never received her diploma. She explained that without a degree, most companies required a bachelor's degree even for administrative assistant roles. Thus, she treasured her cashier job and pleaded with Sheng Fangting not to terminate her.

He promised to do his best. Tan Jing reflected that her years of hard work studying English, once inspired by another, had now become her sole means of proving herself. Meanwhile, Nie Dongyuan arrived at the hospital for a check-up, accompanied by Mr. Quan. The nurses, aware of Nie Yusheng's popularity, surrounded Nie Dongyuan until Nie Yusheng himself appeared, at which point they quickly dispersed.

Nie Yusheng maintained his usual cold demeanor towards his father, but became visibly disturbed when Mr. Lin, his superior, informed him of a suspicious shadow in Nie Dongyuan's liver and the need for a biopsy. Later, sitting in his car after work, Nie Yusheng received the pan-fried dumplings his father had specifically sent. A nurse delivered them and explained they had been kept warm at his father's request, making him realize his father’s underlying concern.

After much hesitation, Tan Jing finally gathered the courage to call Nie Yusheng. She explained that she had many questions about the documents he sent and hoped to consult him in person. Nie Yusheng, in a dismissive tone, stated he was busy with surgeries for the next few days and scheduled their meeting for the following Monday afternoon at the cardiac surgery ward. Sheng Fangting had lunch with Shu Qin, telling her he now understood her concerns about candidate qualifications.

Shu Qin, who had initially dressed up for what she thought might be a personal invitation, realized the discussion was purely professional. Sheng Fangting informed her that someone had fraudulently used another person's English explanation letter, which he now understood was Tan Jing's original letter. He then tasked Shu Qin with arranging an immediate interview for Tan Jing at the headquarters and finding a way to address her lack of a bachelor's degree for the administrative assistant position.

At the sweet shop, the regional supervisor, influenced by Zhu Zhaohui's accusations, confronted Tan Jing about her alleged poor work performance, including tardiness, personal phone calls during work hours, and financial irregularities. Tan Jing admitted to being late sometimes due to family matters but vehemently denied any financial misconduct. As the supervisor and Zhu Zhaohui pressed her to resign or face a 50% pay cut, Sheng Fangting suddenly appeared. He instructed Tan Jing to answer her phone, which was ringing.

Putting it on speaker, she learned it was the HR Department of Shengmei Group calling to schedule an interview for her tomorrow morning at 10 AM, specifically mentioning that General Manager Sheng Fangting had personally recommended her for the administrative assistant role. Tan Jing's interview went exceptionally well, and Shu Qin, highly satisfied with her performance, told her to report for work at 9 AM the next morning.

She also mentioned that the situation at the branch would be handled discreetly to avoid unnecessary complications. On her way home, Tan Jing was overjoyed. She had not held much hope for a position at the headquarters, having grown accustomed to disappointment. The unexpected offer brought immense relief, particularly the prospect of a regular 9-to-5 schedule with weekends free to spend with Sun Ping. She envisioned a brighter future for them.

Meanwhile, Zhu Zhaohui, furious that his plan to sabotage Tan Jing had backfired, got drunk at a food stall. He loudly cursed Tan Jing and threatened to make her life difficult even at the headquarters. Unbeknownst to him, Sun Zhijun was at a nearby table and overheard his rant. Later that night, Sun Zhijun ambushed a drunken Zhu Zhaohui, beating him severely and settling the score on Tan Jing's behalf. The next morning, Tan Jing arrived at Shengmei headquarters.

Amy greeted her and showed her to her new workstation in the Marketing Department, providing her with a badge and instructions to register for the company's internal email and new employee training schedule. Shu Qin then formally introduced Tan Jing to the team as Sheng Fangting's new administrative assistant.

Sheng Fangting himself appeared shortly after, introducing her to more colleagues, including Lily (the secretary), Jessica (the planning manager), Gigi (a designer), and Linda (a planning specialist), before excusing himself for another meeting. Lily then helped Tan Jing set up her company email, noting that with her chosen English name, Daisy, she would be the seventh "Daisy" in the company and her email would need a note to differentiate it. While her colleagues welcomed her, whispers circulated among them.

They gossiped about how an administrative assistant was personally brought in by Shu Qin (Vicky) instead of Amy, and even more strangely, personally introduced by Sheng Fangting. They speculated about her background, remembering how Sheng Fangting had "rescued" her at the branch and praised her English skills. Some even gossiped about her late-night meeting with Sheng Fangting in his office. Despite the chatter, Tan Jing remained focused.

When lunchtime arrived, most colleagues left, but Tan Jing stayed at her desk, diligently working to familiarize herself with her new responsibilities. Later, Nie Yusheng called Mr. Quan, informing him that he would be coming home for dinner with his father, much to Nie Dongyuan's surprise. Mr. Quan encouraged Nie Dongyuan to communicate openly with his son, highlighting their lack of communication and Nie Yusheng's honest nature despite his stubbornness.
